The concept of sharp efficient solution for vector equilibrium problems on Banach spaces is proposed. Moreover, the Fermat rules for local efficient solutions of vector equilibrium problems are extended to the sharp efficient solutions by means of the Clarke generalized differentiation and the normal cone. As applications, some necessary optimality conditions and sufficient optimality conditions for local sharp efficient solutions of a vector optimization problem with an abstract constraint and a vector variational inequality are obtained, respectively.

We study fully relativistic nonlinear 1D fluid equations describing steady-state solutions for an electromagnetic wave interacting with plasma in the self-induced transparency regime. The latter one satisfies the same boundary conditions but corresponds to the full reflection of the incident wave. Abstract:
Abstract The characteristics of transients or peaks in electrochemical noise (EN) data were assessed by inspection from two systems. One was UNS G10100 in Ca(OH)2/NaCl solution and the other was a magnesium alloy (ZA1040) in Mg(OH)2/NaCl solution. Each system exhibited a variety of both sharp and broad peaks. Directly measured quantities include the location in the time record, the current and potential amplitudes, the area under each peak (as coulombs) and the direction (maximum or minimum). The frequencies of transients are readily assessed given their location in the time record. Inferred q

Abstract Graffiti has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. In recent times, Graffiti has gained widespread visual attention, most of it unwanted. Graffiti vandals may believe that their actions harm no one, yet the reality is that their work invites gang violence and a sharp decline in property values. Although definitive figures for clean up costs are difficult to come by, figures from a variety of cities across USA suggest that graffiti clean up costs communities anywhere from $1 to $3 per person. In a 2006 survey of 88 cities, Caltra

Weaknesses in public procurement in Latin America are responsible for a large share of waste and inefficiency in government spending. This document presents a tool developed by the IDB that governments can use to evaluate the efficiency of public procurement spending and to identify critical points to improve it. The application of the practices embedded in the toolkit should significantly increase the impact of government spending on citizen welfare in the region.

In recent times, individuals in Bangladesh are facing serious challenges due to their growing dependency on the internet. This study employs a qualitative research design to identify a lack of understanding and awareness of internet usage among individuals, coupled with the negligence of authorities, as the primary causes of these issues. The findings reveal that while most people are aware of online scams, phishing, and suspicious links, they often share personal information without reading privacy policies due to their complexity. Additionally, there is a significant lack of knowledge about

As the group of the world’s largest economies and biggest emitters, G20 countries are central to implementing solutions to the climate emergency. This discussion paper assesses to what extent they are setting climate mitigation targets that are ambitious enough and/or meet their fair share of global emissions reductions consistent with limiting global heating to 1.5°C. It applies three different methodologies to assess their pledges. Despite some differences between these methodologies, the paper finds that the G20 countries – both collectively, and almost all of them individually – are failin

Abstract:
Social and emotional skills are crucial for all of us to thrive in today’s unpredictable world. Thus, social and emotional learning (SEL) has become a top priority on the agendas of education stakeholders in many countries. From an equity perspective, ensuring that every child has access to SEL requires a systemic approach and a strong commitment from those responsible for formulating educational policies. This policy report is aimed at policymakers eager to widen their understanding, address the challenges and increase the opportunities for social-emotional learning in their education system.

Over 8 billion people share the Earth as their home where we all take shelter, use resources, and live our lives – yet the resources and opportunities of the world often create disparities and inequalities. The global challenges we face – climate change, biodiversity loss, social inequalities, and many more – are interconnected, and so are their solutions. Our neighbours on Earth are subject to many health risks, displacement, and food and water scarcity because of them. We know that no single nation can fight these disasters that don’t stop at borders in isolation. So why don’t we take respon
