In this paper, the orbital stability of standing waves for nonlinear fractional Schrödinger equation is considered. By constructing the constrained functional extreme-value problem, the existence of standing waves is studied. With the help of the orbital stability theories presented by Grillakis, Shatah and Strauss, the orbital stability of standing waves is determined by the sign of a discriminant. To our knowledge, it is the first time that the abstract orbital stability theories presented by Grillakis, Shatah and Strauss are applied to study the stability of solutions for fractional evolution equation.

AbstractThis article analyzes the meaning of two short metaphors used in the legend of Honi the Circle Drawer that define Honi’s relationship with God: Honi referred to himself as a “ben bayit” and Shimon son of Shatah called him “a son who implores his father” (m. Taʿan. 3:8). Explaining these metaphors contains the key to understanding the conflict between Honi and Simeon son of Shatah who criticized him harshly. Most of the explanations for this exchange suggested previously involve imposing philosophical issues that are not suggested by the text. This article examines the use of the key term “ben bayit” and shows that it indicates a position of a slave who has decision-making powers in God’s “house.” This is what Honi presumed to be, and Shimon rejected.

Abstract:
The current study presents the first results of a kinematic analysis to investigate the type of failures in six abandoned limestone quarries in the Al-Huson-Shatana area, North Jordan. A serious problem appears in abandoned quarries. When the work in the quarry finish and the companies withdraw their equipment and workers, they leave behind unstable rock masses due to the repeated explosives. This may cause hazards in properties and civilians especially when they are close enough to residential areas. Both stereographic projection and kinematic analysis were used as tools in this study, to determine the mode and orientation of the failures. Results show that toppling, planar and wedge failures are likely to occur in all stations mainly along structural discontinuities, faults and joints. This indicates the role of structures in the rock landslides, particularly those related to planar, wedge and toppling failures. In addition, rock falls were observed in most stations that have steep slope cutting.

Abstract:
This paper investigates the orbital stability of solitary waves for the generalized symmetric regularized-long-wave equations with two nonlinear terms and analyzes the influence of the interaction between two nonlinear terms on the orbital stability. SinceJis not onto, Grillakis-Shatah-Strauss theory cannot be applied on the system directly. We overcome this difficulty and obtain the general conclusion on orbital stability of solitary waves in this paper. Then, according to two exact solitary waves of the equations, we deduce the explicit expression of discriminationd′′(c)and give several sufficient conditions which can be used to judge the orbital stability and instability for the two solitary waves. Furthermore, we analyze the influence of the interaction between two nonlinear terms of the equations on the wave speed interval which makes the solitary waves stable.

<p>We present a comprehensive investigation of the long-term dynamics generated by a semilinear wave equation with time-dependent coefficients and quintic nonlinearity on a bounded domain subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions. By employing rescaling techniques for time and utilizing the Strichartz estimates applicable to bounded domains, we initially study the global well-posedness of the Shatah–Struwe (S–S) solutions. Subsequently, we establish the existence of a uniform weak global attractor consisting of points on complete bounded trajectories through an approach based on evolutionary systems. Finally, we prove that this uniformly weak attractor is indeed strong by means of a backward asymptotic a priori estimate and the so-called energy method. Moreover, the smoothness of the obtained attractor is also shown with the help of a decomposition technique.</p>

Properties that solitary waves share with particles have contributed significantly to the development of new theories and technological advances in different areas of knowledge. In this sense, the study of orbital stability of solitary waves is key in solitary wave dynamics. Although the definition of orbital stability is relatively simple, the mathematical analysis required to verify it is quite complex. However, the theory of Grillakis, Shatah and Strauss provides us with a very useful criterion to verify orbital stability. In this work, we present their theory and apply it to analyse the orbital stability of Generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation, Compressible fluid equation, and one-dimensional Benney-Luke equation. For the first two equations, the criterion guaranteed the orbital stability of the solitary waves. For the third one, it was guaranteed only for certain ranges of its parameters.

We consider the orbital stability of solitary waves to the double dispersion equation utt−uxx+h1uxxxx−h2uttxx+f(u)xx=0,h1>0,h2>0 with combined power-type nonlinearity f(u)=a|u|pu+b|u|2pu,p>0,a∈R,b∈R,b≠0. The stability of solitary waves with velocity c, c2<1 is proved by means of the Grillakis, Shatah, and Strauss abstract theory and the convexity of the function d(c), related to some conservation laws. We derive explicit analytical formulas for the function d(c) and its second derivative for quadratic-cubic nonlinearity f(u)=au2+bu3 and parameters b>0, c2∈0,min1,h1h2. As a consequence, the orbital stability of solitary waves is analyzed depending on the parameters of the problem. Well-known results are generalized in the case of a single cubic nonlinearity f(u)=bu3.

Firstly, according to the theory of orbital stability of Grillakis-Shatah-Strauss, a general conclusion is given to determine the orbital stability of solitary wave solutions. Furthermore, on the basis of the two bell-shaped solitary wave solutions of the equation, the explicit expressions of the orbital stability discriminants are deduced to give the orbitally stable and instable intervals for the two solitary waves as the wave velocity changing. Moreover, the influence caused by the interaction between two nonlinear terms is also discussed. From the conclusion, it can be seen that the influences caused by this interaction are apparently when 0<p<4, which shows the complexity of this system with two nonlinear terms. Finally, by deriving the orbital stability discriminant d′′(c) in the form of Gaussian hypergeometric function, the numerical simulations of several main conclusions are given in this paper.

Abstract:
Acharya Sushruta mentioned maximum retention period of snehika basti is up to nine hours. If snehika basti retains for maximum time, then it’s very effective. This is probably because there is enough time for absorption of the Sneha. Acharya Sushruta has stated that the action of basti is mainly due to its virya (specific action or property). He further elaborates that the drugs used in basti spread in the body from pakwashaya through appropriate channels; similarly as a tree gets irrigated at the root and nutrients circulate to all parts of the tree. Basti eliminates the morbid dosha from the entire body (i.e. from rasa dhatu to shukra dhatu) gradually and all dhatus get nourishment as per Sushruta. This is possible when basti retains inside for maximum duration. The management of osteoarthritis of knee is broadly divided into non-pharmacological, pharmacological, and surgical treatments. These treatments are either expensive or not available for common people in developing countries. Basti treatment is useful in such patients, especially in elderly persons having natural predominance of vata dosha in their body. As sesame oil [tila taila] possesses having specific properties like snigdha, ushna, madhur, kashaya, tikta rasa & is ushna guna in nature, hence it diminishes vitiated vata and removes kapha. Addition of powders of shatavaha and sandhaiv in sesame oil used for basti, helps the maximum retention of matrabasti, so its useful in managing dhatkshyatmka janusandhigata vata.

Abstract:
Sandhigatavata (Osteoarthritis) is a Vatavyadhi that limits everyday activities among the elderly population. According to World Health Organization, Osteoarthritis (OA) is the second most common musculoskeletal problem among the world population (30%) after back pain (50%). Ayurveda has emphasized various treatment modalities including Upanaha in the management of Sandhigatavata. This single blind clinical study aims to evaluate the effect of Kolakulaththadi Upanaha sweda, which consists of Kola (Zizyphus jujube), Kulaththa (Dolichos biflorus), Suradaru(Cedusdeadara), Rasna (Pluchealanceolate), Masha (Vigna mungo), Atasi (Linum usitatissimum), Tila (Ricinus communicus), Kushta (Saussurea lappa), Vacha (Acoruscalamus), Shatahwa (Anethum sowa) and Yava (Hordeum vulgare) in Janu Sandhigatavata. Thirty patients of primary OA in knee, aged between 40 70 years fulfilling the diagnostic criteria of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) for OA knee were randomly selected at National Ayurveda Hospital in Borella. Took 10g of each ingredient of Kolakulaththadi churna and mixed with 50ml of Kanji (Tamarind juice) and 5g of Saindhava Lavana (Rock salt). Paste heated with light flame and applied over the affected part of knee joints followed by bandaging and retained for 12 hours for consecutive 14 days. Subjective and objective parameters were used to assess the results based on clinical observations before and after treatment. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann- Whitney U Test. It was observed that 100% relief was found in swelling, 90% relief was found in pain and restricted movement of knee joints. This study substantiates the efficacy of Kolakulaththadi Upanaha sweda in the management of Janu Sandhigatavata.

Abstract:
Introduction: Sneha kalpana (oleaginous preparations) is commonly prescribed Ayurvedic dosage form and it is the preparation of various kinds of medicated oils and ghee. Karaviradya taila is medicated oil preparation used externally in the form of abhyanga (massage) for lomashatana (depilation). Objectives: To prepare and carry out the physico-chemical analysis of karaviradya taila. Materials and Methods: Karaviradya taila was prepared by general method of taila kalpana i.e ¼:1:4 and analytical study like organoleptic characters and physico- chemical parameters were carried out based on the references available in the laboratory guide for the analysis of Ayurveda and Siddha formulation. Results and Discussion: The total oil obtained was 85% and the loss was 15%. Organoleptic characters of karaviradya taila showed translucent green viscous liquid with alkaline odor, Physico- chemical parameters like pH, specific gravity, viscosity, total suspended solids, and refractive index were tested. The increased Saponification value of karaviradya taila indicates the rate of absorption, low acid value of karaviradya taila indicates less chance of decomposition of taila. Evaporation of moisture contents in karaviradya taila leads to the decrease in rancidity factors. Peroxide value and iodine value of karaviradya taila indicates the primary oxidation. Conclusion: Karaviradya taila is a sneha kalpana mainly indicated for loma shatana (depilation). Local applications is beneficial because they are quickly absorbable, protect the skin and promotes percutaneous absorption of incorporated drug. The results of pharmaceutical and analytical study of karaviradya taila can be considered as the preliminary standards for the preparation of karaviradya taila.&#x0D; &#x0D; Keywords: Lomashatana, Karaviradyataila, Bahirparimarjana chikitsa, Sneha kalpana, Depilation, Hair Removal.

Abstract:
Abstract In the seminal work (Weinstein 1999 Nonlinearity 12 673), Weinstein considered the question of the ground states for discrete Schrödinger equations with power law nonlinearities, posed on Z d . More specifically, he constructed the so-called normalised waves, by minimising the Hamiltonian functional, for fixed power P (i.e. l 2 mass). This type of variational method allows one to claim, in a straightforward manner, set stability for such waves. In this work, we revisit these questions and build upon Weinstein’s work, as well as the innovative variational methods introduced for this problem in (Laedke et al 1994 Phys. Rev. Lett. 73 1055 and Laedke et al 1996 Phys. Rev. E 54 4299) in several directions. First, for the normalised waves, we show that they are in fact spectrally stable as solutions of the corresponding discrete nonlinear Schroedinger equation (NLS) evolution equation. Next, we construct the so-called homogeneous waves, by using a different constrained optimisation problem. Importantly, this construction works for all values of the parameters, e.g. l 2 supercritical problems. We establish a rigorous criterion for stability, which decides the stability on the homogeneous waves, based on the classical Grillakis–Shatah–Strauss/Vakhitov–Kolokolov (GSS/VK) quantity ∂ ω ∥ φ ω ∥ l 2 2 . In addition, we provide some symmetry results for the solitons. Finally, we complement our results with numerical computations, which showcase the full agreement between the conclusion from the GSS/VK criterion vis-á-vis with the linearised problem. In particular, one observes that it is possible for the stability of the wave to change as the spectral parameter ω varies, in contrast with the corresponding continuous NLS model.

Abstract:
The article considers the cult of the military deity that occupied an important place in the religious views of the Alans. Comparison of the ancient sources with folklore and ethnography of Ossetians, modern descendants of the Alans, clarifies some features of this cult. B. Bakhrakh’s long-standing assumption that the god of war, worshiped by the Alans in the form of a sword, was also the lord of another world, finds confirmation in the Ossetian epos. The Nartic hero Batraz, who is considered the epic hypostasis of the god of war, acts also as the lord of another world. Some specific elements of Ossetian memorial rites (a knife touching all food commemorating the deceased, stabbing the knife in the grave mound) testify in favor of that. The legend of the sacred sword of the Scythians (resp. Alans), found with the help of a cow, is interpreted as a transformation of the myth about the god of war, born of a cow, and about his zoomorphic incarnation as a bull. Some specific characteristics and actions of Nartic Batraz speak well for this interpretation: in the childhood he is fed by cows, he is able to turn into a bull, at the behest of Shatana he seizes with the Nartian herd of bulls, battling with them like a bull. A well-known hypothesis about the impact of the Alanian military cult on the formation of West European legends about Arthur is additionally supported in the article with some data of the Ossetian Nart epos. Already well-known Nartian analogies of the motif of the Arthurian legends about the «sword in stone» are supplemented by one more: Batraz thrusts in the ground an unusual weapon, which presents simultaneously a sword and a lance. Moreover, as the accordance to the motifs of the «sword in stone» and «sword from the lake» the examples from the Vedic mythology are given: the vajra, the miraculous weapon of the storm god, pierces the mountain / stone, and in some contexts is described as lying in the sea. It is suggested that ritual dances with swords existed in the Alanian military cult.

Abstract:
AbstractIn the context of hyperbolic systems of balance laws, the Shizuta–Kawashima coupling condition guarantees that all the variables of the system are dissipative even though the system is not totally dissipative. Hence it plays a crucial role in terms of sufficient conditions for the global in time existence of classical solutions. However, it is easy to find physically based models that do not satisfy this condition, especially in several space dimensions. In this paper, we consider two simple examples of partially dissipative hyperbolic systems violating the Shizuta–Kawashima condition (SK) in 3D, such that some eigendirections do not exhibit dissipation at all. We prove that if the source term is nonresonant (in a suitable sense) in the direction where dissipation does not play any role, then the formation of singularities is prevented, despite the lack of dissipation, and the smooth solutions exist globally in time. The main idea of the proof is to couple Green function estimates for weakly dissipative hyperbolic systems with the space–time resonance analysis for dispersive equations introduced by Germain, Masmoudi and Shatah. More precisely, the partially dissipative hyperbolic systems violating (SK) are endowed, in the nondissipative directions, with a special structure of the nonlinearity, the so-called nonresonant bilinear form for the wave equation (see Pusateri and Shatah, CPAM 2013).

Bu bakımdan işaret tabiri bize bir yandan sufilerin naslar &uuml;zerindeki yorumları hakkında bilgi verirken aynı zamanda din bilimleri i&ccedil;erisinde tasavvufun gelişim s&uuml;recini en iyi a&ccedil;ıklayan kavramlardan birisi olmuştur.&nbsp; ABSTRACT Some Considerations on Esoteric Interpretation of the Qur&rsquo;an from Qushairi to Ibn Arabi: The Development of Qur&rsquo;anic Exegesis from Esoterism to Determinism Initially, indication (isharat) as not being of serious consideration was a general name of secondary interpretations. In time, this approach has protected sufi knowledge from any dispute and quarrels. The ultimate objective of Sufis when using the term isharat was two: First, they aimed to demonstrate their obedience to the perspectives of Sunni jurists and theologians. Beside of this, they just expressed their views on ethics and purification of nafs in reference to Islamic texts. In this respect, esoteric exegesis referred to the efforts of these sufis in finding out Islamic moral values in connection with the texts using analogy as their ultimate method. Secondly, they intentionally wanted to escape from the difficulties of demonstration. Thus, isharat kept sufis out of any discussion and gave them the opportunity to talk to the one who is qualified enough in the field of tasawwuf (ahl). However this term as being one of the demonstrations of the periodic developments of tasawwuf has gradually gained an extent meaning which is determination (tahqiq). In a proper sense, the term isharat has been progressively replaced by tahqiq. If we try to explain this with the relation between asl (fundament) and far&rsquo; (branch), initially the term isharat was a far&rsquo; (branch) of the commentaries of Muslim jurists and theologians which was regarded then as asl (fundament). Yet, by Ibn Arabi this term has begun to be considered as asl while the interpretation of Sunni scholars regarded as far&rsquo;. In this respect, it must be said here that the term isharat not only gives us the commentaries of the Sufis in reference to the Islamic texts it also gives us the clear expression about the formative period of tasawwuf among other Islamic disciplines.
