A wide range of colour management systems already have been introduced and Mellow colour is one of the latest of them. Sheet-fed offset is production based industry in which the product has to be matched with standards using colour management software to check the deviations and to optimize the production quality. Five print jobs were taken into study and aim of this paper is to find various facilities and methods using which th

The impression on-off mechanism is an important part of the offset press, the design and manufacture have relationship with the performance of the printing presses and the quality of the printed products. Pneumatic impression on-off mechanism has the advantages of high position accuracy, reliable and highly automation. This article takes pneumatic impression on-off mechanism as the object of study, the three-dimensional digital model of the impression on-off mechanism is established and the process of on-off pressure is analyzed by using ADAMS software, the piston minimum velocity when the cyl

Good inkjet printability requires a coating layer with good water absorption properties. A properly designed open coating structure helps to efficiently remove the water phase of the printing ink while controlling the penetration of the ink. The absorptivity of the coating is primarily dependent on the pigment type, as well as the binder type and amount. The pore volume of the coating layer can in principle be increased by introducing a structured pigment or a pigment with narrow particle size distribution. It is also important to optimize the binder type and level, with the aim to create a co

INTRODUCTION Colophony is a complex mixture of over one hundred compounds, resulting from the distillation of oleoresin, obtained from plants belonging to Pinaceae (mainly Pinus genus). The main allergens are the rosin oxidation products (unmodified and modified), as well as some of the new resin acids synthesized during their modification. It has numerous domestic or industrial applications, and exposure to these compounds is practically universal. We report a case of an occupational allergic contact dermatitis to colophony. The quality parameters of printed sheets should be controlled constantly during the sheet-fed offset printing process. This allows the detection of any problems in the initial stages of the printing process. The final control of the quality of printing sheets will eliminate error products before delivering to the costumers. The results of this control should be analyzed continuously. The total quality management (TQM) is an effective method in controlling, doing statistics, and assessing the errors in the offset printing process. Simultaneously, this method delivers the main errors frequently

Abstract The key parameter in the printing process is the evenness of applying the ink layer on the printing substrate. It determines the quality of the produced prints. One of the many factors affecting the final evenness of the ink layer on the print is the phenomenon of mottling, which is caused by the non-uniform internal structure of the paper. The aim of this work was to analyze the influence of basic printing parameters on the value of the mottling index. The research showed a significant effect of the pressure in the printing unit of the offset machine and the thickness of the ink laye

In this study, an alternative aqueous isopropyl alcohol-free fountain solution for sheet-fed offset printing is prepared comprising 5 w/w% McIlvaine's buffer system for pH control, 0.3 w/w% Polysorbate 80 as a surfactant, 1 w/w% magnesium nitrate hexahydrate as a conductivity agent and 10 w/w% ethylene glycol mono-butyl ether as an additional wetting agent. The percentages of each composition are w/w% of active and then adjusted to 100 w/w% by adding distilled water. This study investigates a framework for enhancing the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of sheet-fed offset printers, focusing on the packaging sector. The research explores the understanding and implementation of OEE valuation within this context. Through a specific case study, the OEE value is 22%, with contributions from Availability, Performance, and Quality rates at 41%, 58%, and 94%, respectively. These findings underscore a substantial deviation from the world-class standard of 85%, indicating significant room for improvement. Based on Six Big Losses (SBL) and Cause and Defect diagr

Mottle is one of the print quality factors which highly affect the final print in any printing system. Print mottle is without doubt one of the most important factors regarding visual impression of print quality in any printing system. It is usually the result of uneven ink layer or non-uniform ink absorption across the paper surface and it is more prominently visible in middle tone images or areas of uniform colour such as solids and continuous tone screen images. A mottled picture highly makes the picture smudgy and in most of the cases is not acceptable to the end user. It is required to pr
