Abstract:
The integrity of the tubesheet to shell junction zone of a fixed tubesheet reactor subject to in phase proportional pressure and temperature loading, and under reduced thickness, has been investigated by applying various failure theories and in accordance to design by analysis rules through considering various material hardening parameters. Results of an elastic FE analysis for reduced tubesheet and shell thicknesses at the junction of the shell to tubesheet indicates that the junction zone is subject to large stresses. It is shown that, junction stresses are formed as a result of combined act

Removal of xylene (a toxic compound) from aqueous solution by modified multi wall carbon nano tubes (MWCNT) via silica as sheeted carbon nanotube (SCNT) was evaluated. The physicochemical properties of MWCNT such as structure and availability surface were improved due to convert tubes into sheets that cause significantly increase in xylene adsorption. The equilibrium amount (qe (mg/g)) in nano material's dose of 1g/l, xylene concentration of 10mg/l, contact time of 10min, and pH 7, for SCNT (qe 9.8 mg/g) was higher than single wall carbon nano tubes (SWCNT) (qe 9.2 mg/g) and MWCNT (qe 8.9

In the last two decades the international community has been looking for solutions to preserve the environment, and in particular the atmosphere, from the CO2 emissions through the car exhausts, considered one of the main responsible of the greenhouse effect and, therefore, of the Earth temperature increase. Rules and limits were fixed in the 1997 with the Kyoto Protocol that entered in force in 2005, by which the international community signed the legal responsibility for producing vehicles with CO2 emission limited to 95g/km to be reached in 2020. Vlasov-Maxwell equilibria are characterised by the self-consistent descriptions of the steady-states of collisionless plasmas in particle phase-space, and balanced macroscopic forces. We study the theory of Vlasov-Maxwell equilibria in one spatial dimension, as well as its application to current sheet and flux tube models. The ‘inverse problem' is that of determining a Vlasov-Maxwell equilibrium distribution function self-consistent with a given magnetic field. We develop the theory of inversion using expansions in Hermite polynomial functions of the canonical momenta. Sufficient conditions fo

Heat exchanger is calculated heat, hydraulic and strength and is finally processed part drawings. There are designed the basic dimensions of the tube bundle and container heat exchanger. There are included an overview of concepts and so far used types IHX at the nuclear power plants with fast reactors. There are also mentioned basic parameters of the project ESFR and evaluated the safety and operational reliability of the heat exchanger.

PV/Thermal technology is the combination of solar thermal and photovoltaics - two mature and widely understood technologies. Combining the two technologies complicates existing standardized rating procedures and performance modeling methods. Currently a standardized performance test method does not exist for PV/Thermal (PV/T) panels. Existing and developing PV/T panels are commonly tested using separate standardized solar thermal and photovoltaic test procedures. Solar thermal performance is rated in terms of temperature difference whereas photovoltaic performance is dependent on absolute temp

A magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) theory has been developed for the motion of a thin magnetic flux tube through a two-dimensional stationary medium that is in MHD equilibrium. The flux tube is represented as a one-dimensional filament. Simple properties of the computed time development of the filament have been explored analytically, including linear intermediate and slow-mode waves and corresponding MHD shock solutions. Numerical solutions for filaments in the tail display the strong earthward flow and dipolar shapes that are characteristic of bursty bulk flows that are frequently observed in the p
