Fish farm facilities become colonized by biofouling, and in situ cleaning activities may increase the accumulation of biofouling, mostly shell-hash, on the sediment. However, there is a lack of knowledge about the effect of fish farming on this process. We evaluated the effect of fish farming on shell-hash accumulation on sediments in three fish farms in the Western Mediterranean in Spain. On the one hand, coverage of non-degraded shell on the seabed was estimated using an underwater camera attached to a frame of 1 × 1 m. Abstract Biofouling presents significant ecological and economic challenges to aquaculture, particularly in tropical estuaries where rapid biofouling growth can impede water flow and increase the structural load on fish cage nets. This study examines the density and shell size distribution of biofouling oysters attached to fish cage nets in Poka coastal waters, Ambon, Indonesia. Samplings were conducted on three fish cage nets used in fish farming for approximately six months (March-August 2023). ABSTRACT Durophagous (shell-crushing) fish predation is considered to have been a major force of evolutionary change in the history of marine communities. However, because fish predators are very rarely preserved in the act of predation, fossil evidence of such interactions is commonly indirect. For instance, it has been argued that shell fragments with sharp margins constitute a good proxy for durophagy. However, drawing a distinction between predation- and abiotic-induced shell damage can be challenging. Notably, experimental data on shell fragmentation by marine durophagous fishes are almos

Abstract:
Abstract Hot gas ingestion into the wheel space can reduce the lifetime of vulnerable components in gas turbine like the turbine disk. Rim seal structure at the periphery of the wheel-space is designed to protect the turbine disk from hot gas. This paper describes the steady and unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS and URANS) computation method with Shear Stress Transport (SST) turbulent model using commercial CFD code and the validation of grids. The RANS and URANS computation have been carried out in a one stage turbine model with different rim seal configurations: fish-mouth rim s
