Ce travail porte sur la pensee d'un auteur japonais du milieu de l'epoque d'edo: ando shoeki (1703-1762), dont l'originalite est de centrer tout son discours sur la notion de shizen, not qui fut plus tard adopte comme mot de traduction de "nature". La premiere partie expose la problematique qui justifie cette etude. Nous y retracons la vie de l'auteur, sa recuperation ulterieurs, nous rendons compte de sa definition de shizen, puis analysons les principaux emplois de ce mot dans le discours philosophique chinois et japonais. Dans la seconde partie, nous nous livrons a une etude du systeme philosophique de cet auteur, d'ou se degage une vision du monde comme totalite spontanee. La derniere partie developpe le role joue par la notion de shizen chez shoeki et essaie de montrer en quoi elle permet de situer la pensee de cet auteur comme une reaffirmation de l'ancienne philosophie chinoise (en particulier le courant taoiste), une critique de l'ecole d'ogyu soraiet l'annonce des courants nativistes futurs. Nous procedons aussi a une comparaison avec jean-jacques rousseau et tentons d'expliquer pourquoi le discours de shoeki a pu faire l'objet d'une telle recuperation ideologique de la part des milieux marxistes japonais
This work is about the thought of a japanese author of the middle of the edo period: ando shoeki (1703-1762), the originality of whom is to make depend his whole discourse upon the idea of shizen, a word which later became the translation word into japanese of our word: nature. The first part is an exposure of the problem: the author's life, how he was later recuperated, how he defines the word: shizen. Then, we analyze the main uses of this word in the chinese and the japanese philosophical discourses. The second part is an analysis of the philosophical system of shoeki in which one many recognize a worldview as a spontaneous totality. The last part develops the role played by the idea of shizen in such a system and tries to show how his use of shizen enables us to define his thought as a reassesment of the old chinese philosophy (especially the taoist current), a criticism of ogyu sorai's achievements and a prologue to the future nativist way of thinking. We also establish some comparison with jean-jacques rousseau and try to give an explanation to the fact that shoeki was so much recuperated by marxist thinkers in japan

Abstract:
In Japan’s postwar era, agriculture has become highly industrialized, involving heavy machinery, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides, all in the name of “progress.” Through employing such practices, humans have attempted to improve upon nature’s way of doing things, and in turn have degraded the soil’s fertility, natural ecosystems, and human health. In response to this, Shizen Nōhō has emerged in Japan as an alternative way of cultivating food. Shizen Nōhō practitioners challenge the notion that we need chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery to farm successfully. Rather, they advocate for a way of growing food that functions seamlessly with natural ecosystems. This thesis explores the value of Shizen Nōhō in sustaining the natural environment, providing food for communities, and catalyzing a shift towards a more harmonious relationship with nature. By drawing on the research I conducted in central Japan, I illustrate how Shizen Nōhō offers a solution that can reunite people to the ecosystems that sustain them. Placing Shizen Nōhō within the larger context of Japan’s food system, I detail ways in which the priorities of the Japanese government and agricultural industry are not compatible with Shizen Nōhō. Therefore, if Shizen Nōhō is to be more widely adopted in Japan, communities must drive this change, rather than governmental and industrial entities. If adopted, Shizen Nōhō may serve as a vehicle for transforming the way humans interact with and view themselves in relation to nature.

Abstract:
This dissertation will argue that the founding and the existence of the Southern Song was not because of the emperor's willingness to accept the Jins' terms, but in spite of the emperor's attitudes. It was the general's successful resistance against the Jins that made it possible for the survival of the Southern Song. However, the founding of the Southern Song was never Han Shizhong's ideal. What he strove for was to defeat the enemies and to liberate the captured emperor and ex-emperor and to oust the Jins out of the Central Plain. The conflict between General Han Shizhong and Emperor Gaozong was focused upon the latter's goal of maintaining the reality of the Southern Song and realizing the former's ideal. The conflict intensified as the emperor quickened his pace of making peace with the Jins at the time when the Southern Song's military forces were in the offensive position. The emperor's efforts to restrict Han Shizhong within his own track, strengthened by the efforts of the imperial court to recover the national tradition of putting the military under civilian control, deprived Han Shizhong of the opportunity for the realization of his ideal.

Main objectives of the study include: First. Giving "Dynasty of Qing-Shizong making policy of nourishing honesty silver" new meanings, to be explained in terms of different views. Second. Combing multiple streams theory, to deal with major tributary and key points of multiple streams theory, and to guide framework of the thesis. Third. Explaining development’s process of formation of the silver honesty policy of the Qing-Shizong by multi-streams’ structure. Fouth. Studying an opportunity’s window nourishing honesty silver policy-making of Qing-Shizong for opening a key timing, from the theory of multiple streams. Secondly, in terms of research literature, including the Qing dynasty official data, books, periodicals, theses, foreign-language books, periodicals and website data, etc. In terms of research methods, adopt literature method, history method, comparative analysis’ method. Furthermore, in research content aspects, including, First, the problem aspect: focusing events (military, and salaries, and at official expense), and problem definition (corruption, embezzlement, objectionable practices, and privately levied), financial sources limit (funding insufficient), and problem feedback (benefits or negative effect); Second, the policy aspect, including policy alternatives, and policy dialogue, and technology feasibility, and value acceptability; Third, the political aspect, including regime change (imperial thinking, and values), political circumstances(bureaucratic situation, official rectify), and national mood (farmers fight event), pressure groups (official in feudal times arguing with each other); Fourth, the moderating variables: windows of opportunity, convergence, spillover effects, policy entrepreneurs, softening up; Fifth, the policy-making: agenda setting, decision making. Finally, in study result, to resolve respectively the study problems, the study discovery, theory discussion and the study contribution, as the conclusions of the dissertation. All in all, the Research adopt revised theory of "Garbage decision-making model", non-phase(or anti-phase) perspective of public policy, as the main framework, namely John w. Kingdon proposed the model of multiple streams, and analyzing the case of nourishing honesty silver, shows that "problem stream", "politics stream" and "policy stream", analysis of Qing government in the decision-making process in the implementation of nourishing honesty silver, formed process from the problems to the decision-making, and brought about effects after that, and proposed discoveries and conclusions for reference.

During the Ming period, the flourish of “jiyou tu” (tourism paintings), with travel trend, has been considered one of the most significant developments in the time. However, a series of painting, Jixing tu (pictorial travel journey), in an innovative format, has only begun to be explored in these years. Jixing tu, also called Shuicheng tu (journey by water), commissioned by Wang Shizhen (1526-1590) and were done by Qian Gu (1508-1572) and Zhang Fu (1546-ca. 1631), recording Wang‘s journey from Taicang to Beijing. This thesis mainly focuses on this series of painting which is divided into a three-album set and another version of the first album. In the past, some scholars have discussed the visual materials adapted by Jixing tu and Wang''s purpose, but the function and style of the painting have never been fully explained. This thesis gives two perspective to the subject. First, the function of these paintings is not only to commemorate one''s experience but to provide tour materials for future travelers. In general, rather than determining the representation of the scenery, painters added a style of traditional maps to the albums, such as the application of high point of view and the script next to landmarks, to illuminate the tour information about each site. Secondly, painters obviously made a conscious effort to simplify the brush, yet the effort has received scant attention, leaving its feature underappreciated. This thesis suspects that Wang was trying to publish these paintings. This interpretation would be helpful to understand the brush style, furthermore, explains the relationship between the print culture and tourism. Given the possibility, it is suggested that Wang Shizhen plays a crucial role at the experimental stage of woodblock-printed of landscapes.

Abstract:
Chapter 1 reviews the background to the rise of art patronage studies and their development and its influence on studies of Chinese art history. It also provides alternative approaches to studying activities related to patronage and their influence and role in Chinese art history by criticising traditional analysis of Chinese art based on social and economic theories.
Chapter 2 examines the life of Wang and explores the intentions and meaning to his patronage activities through studying his political involvement, literary activities and his social background and connections.
Chapter 3 discusses how Wang, given his knowledge in history and passion for art and its collection, reinterprets art history with reference to his private collection of art, and thereby consolidating his status as a leading figure of literary and cultural circle of his time.
Chapter 4 explains and reflects on the formation of the "artist-patron" relationship through examining the relationship and interaction between Wang and the literary circle and by appraising the financial background and standing of artists and calligraphers at the time.
Chapter 5 examines the direct impact that Wang, as a literary leader and patron of the art, has on the styles and subject matter of art work by examining and decoding several pieces of art commissioned by himself, thus revealing a distinct mechanism in which art was produced at the time.
Chapter 6 discusses the "artist-patron" relationship and the "trading of cultural resources" by examining diverse pieces of art work given to Wang as gifts by different individual artists and calligraphers.
Chapter 7 analyses the significance of the patronage activities of Wang and provides a new approach to understanding the issue of traditional Chinese art patronage in Chinese art history.
Through a case study of the life of Wang Shizhen, this research attempts to analyse the influence of literary leader and patron of the arts on the development of painting and calligraphy during the mid-Ming period. By analysing the "artist-patron" relationship, this paper attempts to explain alternative mechanism through which traditional Chinese art was produced. The thesis also examines art patronage activities in Suzhou during the sixteenth century and thereby attempts to examine these activities from the broader cultural and historical context at the time. This paper is divided into seven chapters:
