The reliability of circuit systems is primarily affected by cascading failures due to their complex structural and functional coupling. Causes of cascading failure during circuit operation include the continuous degradation process of components and external random shocks. Circuit systems can exhibit asymmetric structural changes and functional loss during cascading failure propagation due to the coupling of degradation and shock and their uncertainty effects. To tackle this issue, this paper abstracts the circuit into an impedance network and constructs a component failure behavior model that

There exists nonlinear phenomenon i.e., chaotic motion, in a hydraulic system, which leads to complicated motion behaviors. This non-periodic motion will then result in unstable system and damage. It is therefore crucial to control and maintain system stability. In this study, a nonlinear hydraulic system model is built by using nonlinear dynamics. ATCA is a new form factor for communication equipment applications. Finite element model (FEM) was created to predict the dynamic response of an ATCA design during a table drop shock. The model was built with 2nd order brick elements for minimizing the meshing sensitivity. Modal method was used and followed by dynamic transient analysis with superposition approach and validated by comparing the modal test data for matching the natural frequencies and the modal shapes. The model was further validated by comparing the board displacement with direct displacement measurement using a high speed cam

Abstract:
This paper analyses the global commodity circuits – value chains – for maize and tobacco in Zimbabwe, in the context of a reconfigured agrarian economy and COVID-19 induced shocks. The study focuses on the political economy dynamics of agricultural commodity circuits to reveal how they can contribute to understanding the drivers and constraints of agricultural commercialisation in Zimbabwe. This paper traces the circuits of maize and tobacco, the two major crops for food security and foreign currency earnings in Zimbabwe.
