The goal of this study was to determine an efficient micropropagation system for cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon Ait.). Cranberry cultivar Howes was successfully established in vitro using mercuric chloride in a concentration of 0.15% as a sterilization solution. Anderson’s rhododendron medium (AN), half-strength Murashige and Skoog medium (half-MS) and McCown woody plant medium (WPM) containing the cytokinin zeatin in concentrations 0.5, 1 or 2 mg/l were tested. Generally, the highest multiplication rate (2.7) was obtained for cv. Howes on AN medium with the concentration

This paper introduces an energy-saving biomass stove. The principle of energy-saving biomass stove is gasification. It is a chemical process, transforms solid fuel into a gas mixture, called (CO + H2 + CH4) gas. Emission lines in the stove chimneys typically remain high temperatures around 900 to 1200C. The composition of the flue gas consists of combustion products of rice husk which are mainly CO2, CO, N2. A little volatile in the rice husk, which could not burn completely, residual oxygen and dust will fly in airflow. The amount of dust in the outlet gas is a combination of unburnt amount o

This thesis studies the modelling and characterisation of underwater optical wireless communication links, particularly short-range diffuse links, by using numerical Monte Carlo (MC) simulation. MC simulation provides a flexible, intuitive and accurate modelling of the underwater channel, which is severely affected by absorption and scattering processes. In diffuse Underwater Optical Wireless Communication (UOWC) links, scattering is expected to have a larger impact on communication link performance due to the wider beam divergence compared to collimated beams.
