Abstract:
The film "Capciptop" is a short film produced through a collaboration between Ravacana Films and Heinz ABC Indonesia, aimed at promoting ABC sauce with spicy onion flavor. Abstract:
Many literary works, such as novels and short stories, have been transformed into works in the form of audio-visual or film. This results in a dualism between enthusiasts of both types of works. Many enthusiasts of original works (novels) are disappointed with the results of the transfer of media to films. However, some people are satisfied with the transfer of the media, even preferring the film version to the original novel. A collection of short stories entitled Rectoverso by Dee Lestari which was transferred into a film has received a lot of praise. A collection of short stories and films are equally able to achieve the attention of the public. The two versions of Rectoverso's works have also received many awards national and international. Thus, this makes researchers interested in studying one of the short stories in Rectiverso entitled Malaikat Juga Tahu and a short film version with the same title. This research aims to find out the differences in the elements of the work of Malaikat Juga Tahu in the form of a short story and short film and to find out how the short story of Malaikat Juga Tahu is narrowed, elaborated and varied to be presented in a short film. This research used a qualitative method with the use of Pamusuk Eneste's ecranization theory as an analytical tool. The results of this research indicate changes in aspects of expansion, narrowing and variations of stories from short stories to short films. These changes were made to make the audience more immersed in the story by adding dramatic elements. In addition, the visualization element that is prioritized in the film version demands changes in the story version so that it is more acceptable to the audience.

With the rapid expansion of the Internet and media in the present era, an increasing number of individuals like to relax by viewing a movie in their leisure time. People prefer to watch short videos rather than long movies, thanks to the rapid increase of short videos and self-media. This study investigates the motivators that drive short filmmakers to create each short film, as well as the real reasons why directors choose to make short films. Exploring the stories behind short films is critical for the future of short films. As they move forward, filmmakers should discover the core of existence from the past, rather than filming for the sake of shooting. Abstract:
The role of teachers in EFL/ESL classroom is very important for the improvement of the students since it is believed that professional and creative English teachers can help students in learning English well. However, many teachers still lack the effort in finding new ideas and in improving their professionalism as a good English teacher. Yet, with the development of technology nowadays, many media are worth to be considered in teaching English. One of the media that is being actively mentioned in educational world nowadays is short film. In this case, short film is believed to be one of the appropriate ways in teaching English especially in teaching the character education presented in it. With short film, students can have more exposure to authentic English and the culture of the target language. But another important benefit is often overlooked by teachers, that is the possibility of learning values for building the students’ characters through the use of short film in the learning process. This present paper will try to respond to this fact by identifying the values of character educations in a short film entitled Piper from Pixar animation through textual analysis. There are character educations that revealed about parenting, self-supporting, and friendship value in the film. Thus, it can be concluded that when chosen correctly, short films can be a media for building students’ characters while developing their English, all in a more entertaining, relaxed, and enjoyable media that meet the students’ 21st century contexts.

There are advancements in creative work, particularly for short films in the media domain now. The production of short films undergoes digitalisation transformation that promotes the evolution of brand-new media technologies. Nevertheless, the creation of shariah-compliant short film content creates a debate and becomes a polemic among the country’s content creator. Nonetheless, shariah-compliant short films grab digital media audiences’ attention, such as MTAS Production, Mr Kokom and Syahmi Sazli Production. The discussion related the writing of shariah-compliant creative content scripts from the aesthetic aspect of Takmilah Theory. Thus, this paper aimed to identify shariah-compliant elements as the basis for content formation for short films. Thematic analysis of shariah-compliant elements worked as a primary reference for short filmmakers to plan and organise the content that could meet the needs of the audience. Looking at the marketability of shariah-compliant works through the evolution of digital media, it indicates that the creative community and industry in Malaysia accepts this reform.

Abstract:
The audience spontaneously acted as "tap water" to initiate short video marketing, successfully triggering the box office market of the domestic literary film Return to Dust, making it a typical case of the film industry with great significance. The "tipping point" of the film at the box office is not only due to the combined effect of the dissemination of the short video of secondary creation and the live streaming of the traffic stars but also due to the topic sense created by the spiritual core of the film itself. At the same time, it benefits from the cross-media communication environment created by the UGC (user-generated content) model and the precise push of big data. With the combined force of these three parties, a breakthrough effect was formed, creating a "box office miracle" for domestic literary films. The short video explosion of the domestic literary film market is quite enlightening: only by taking quality as the core to create excellent films and taking traffic as a gripper to promote film cross-media marketing, can we get out of the film development road of "traffic + quality" with Chinese characteristics.

Omnibus Short Films are a collection of several short films that have the same theme. Omnibus Short Film with the Theme Migrasi TV Analog / Omnibus STB consists of 4 (four) Short Films entitled : TV Ini Kubelikan Untuk Anakku Tapi Istriku Marah-Marah, Ningali TV, Mbayar and Menjarah. This research uses the Social Reality Construction Theory which is a theory from Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann (1966). This research method uses the Charles Sanders Pierce Semiotic Method, to research and analyze film texts. Apart from that, the researcher also carried out communication interactions with various sources, observations, interviews, documents and other materials as evidence or proof, related to the Socialization of Digital Television Broadcast Technology Conversion (Study Regarding the Representation of Digital Television Broadcast Technology in Omnibus Short Films). The paradigm used in this research is constructivist. This research uses a qualitative approach which allows researchers to discuss the research in more depth. The novelty or novelty of this research is the Omnibus Short Film with the Theme Migration of Analog TV / Omnibus STB, as a medium for conveying messages to the public, has shown that the film is able to make the circulation of information through the socialization of the conversion of digital television broadcast technology, faster and evenly distributed in efforts to socialize the conversion of digital television broadcast technology. This means that it has completed Peter L. Berger's Social Reality Construction Theory, namely that all this time Peter L Berger never talked about the media, but then it was the media that led to representation. So the media plays a role as a construction and representation of reality, in the socialization of the conversion of digital television broadcast technology

Abstract:
Abstract: In the domestic sphere, the stereotype about men who are stronger than women is still developing. This cannot be separated from the existence of patriarchal culture. The domination of one gender is a phenomenon that often appears in society, especially in the domestic sphere. It is also clearly represented by various media, such as movies. Currently, women in the domestic sphere realize that women are empowered figures who oppose patriarchal culture and are not easily deceived by men. This phenomenon has also been represented through various media, especially films. Film effectively conveys messages and influences the audience's views on social and cultural issues. This is because films can represent events that occur in the real world. One film that represents women as dominant figures in the domestic sphere is Adi Marsono's short film titled Kisah di Hari Minggu. Based on that phenomenon, the problem formulation proposed in this research is about how women dominate in the domestic sphere, as represented in the short film Kisah di Hari Minggu. Purpose: This research aims to determine the dominant practice of women in the domestic sphere in the short film Kisah di Hari Minggu. Design/Methodology/Approach: This is descriptive qualitative research with Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis as the approach. Findings: The research results show that both verbal and non-verbal actions in that movie show a woman's dominance, who is a mother. It also shows a counter to the patriarchal system, which always positions women under men. Originality/Value: The film analysis of women’s dominance is limited since many previous research studies focus on men’s dominance. However, this research examines how women's dominance in the domestic sphere in a short film is analyzed using critical discourse analysis methods.

Abstract:
Addressing an increasingly globalised housing crisis, European filmmakers have turned their attention to the precarity of home, generating a vast mediascape of activist documentaries, essay films, shorts, and some features. Adopting a film and urbanism approach, in this article I take a specific focus on the short film form, framing it as a space for experimentation, and offering a snapshot of a wider transnational corpus of media. I compare two 2019 short films by two emerging women artists: British Ayo Akingbade’s Dear Babylon and Portuguese Leonor Teles Dogs Barking at Birds (Cães Que Ladram Aos Pássaros). These artists’ works establish film as a form of resistance while, at the same time, being rooted in an understanding of socio-economic inequality in housing. Purposedly merging observational, participatory methods with the fictional, these two films share a focus on young people in uncertain living conditions. Grappling with their individual situations the youth at the centre of these stories build forms of resistance to their present housing struggles in the attempt to shape a better future for themselves and their community.

Abstract:
Da'wah is an activity to spread knowledge of Islam to all corners of the world. With the development of the times, it becomes a challenge for the da'i so that their da'wah can be enjoyed and disseminated more widely. In this digital era, visual media is the most effective tool used to spread da'wah. One of the media that is currently popular is YouTube. The ease of YouTube's popularity needs to be put to good use, such as creating and displaying educational content with Islamic elements, such as films of the religious genre. The researcher analyzed the da'wah contained in rich short films without religious genre treasures on the YouTube channel of Muslim filmmakers to find the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth in the film. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The type of research used is field research, researchers observe the object directly. The results of this study are that the meaning of denotation in this study is about the description of human life in facing various trials of life in family, neighbors and friends. The meaning of the connotations in the short film Kaya without treasure is that sincerity, gratitude and patience will make us calmer and accept what is. The meaning of the myth in the short film rich without wealth is that alms will make us more grateful for what Allah SWT has given us. The message of moral da'wah is more dominant in this film.

Abstract:
In thin film magnetic media, the magnetic hysteresis properties and micromagnetic domain behavior are strongly influenced by both interparticle exchange interactions and by magnetostatic interactions. The exchange interactions are short-range in nature; therefore, they are very sensitive to interparticle separation. Consequently, the magnetic hysteresis properties and the recording behavior of the thin film magnetic media can be drastically altered by the introduction of grain separation during the film deposition process. In this study, thin film media of a CoNiPt alloy of one composition was processed under two different conditions. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM) were used to investigate and explain the difference in magnetic hysteresis characteristics of the films. The structure of the thin film media consisted of a 600 Å thick CoNiPt alloy sputtered on textured 130mm diameter NiP-plated aluminum substrates. A single sputtering parameter was varied to produce two types of films, labelled type I and type II, which exhibited significant differences in their magnetic recording characteristics.

Abstract:
In this work, pilot-scale, on-line, short-HRT fixed-film prefermenter systems were evaluated using Ringlace and Kaldnes fixed-film media for short chain volatile fatty acid (SCVFA) production, with screened raw domestic wastewater and primary effluent. In comparison to the control reactors without media, significant levels of SCVFA were generated in the fixed-film prefermenters. For the design considered in this study, the Ringlace media performed well, whereas the Kaldnes media resulted in clogging. The Ringlace media data show that, for a 60-min HRT, on-line prefermenter systems produced 11 and 5.5 mg/L of SCVFA (as acetic acid) with screened raw wastewater and primary effluent, respectively. Such a low HRT might translate into potential cost savings (up to 25%) in providing SCVFA to enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) plants and could lead to a completely new generation of prefermenter designs.Key words: domestic sewage, enhanced biological phosphorus removal systems, fixed film, prefermenter, short chain volatile fatty acids.

Abstract:
Nowadays, films can not only be watched in conventional media such as cinema, screening and television but also digital media such as streaming, download and shared archives. This study aims to determine the pattern of audience fragmentation, especially in the cinephile segments. The research employs an explorative qualitative method. The data collection methods include diaries and interviews. Informants were determined using a purposive sampling technique which includes visitors of the movie screened by the Jogja Movie Night, DIY Watching Club, and Cultural Department in July 2018. The results of this study show that, first, conventional media such as cinema and screening are still considered important because they provide a tasting guide, a space for social interaction and technical facilities. Second, attention is managed differently when dealing with conventional and new media. The focus of watching a movie can be created in different ways tailored to the viewing space. Third, film content is used as inspiration to produce films as hobbies and learning space. Also, it can be diverted in other forms such as short stories, performance scripts. Although being exposed to unlimited choices, film viewers only access the relative channels for a certain period. They need public space to interact with film fans, educate their appetite and watch satisfaction. Digital media is used to facilitate the autonomy of choosing and treating films based on their needs and desires. Keywords: Film audience fragmentation, audience interests, consumption pattern, new media, cinephelia.

Abstract:
With the rapid development of information technology, new media, as a typical example of social media, rises abruptly, relying on the Internet, which has caused a strong impact on traditional media. In the era of information fragmentation, domestic films have more chance to catch people's eyes especially through social media, such as Tiktok, Instagram and Youtube. The huge number of users on social media allows film capitalists to target some potential user groups. Whenever a movie is about to be released, filmmakers always choose to vigorously promote it on social media, such as short videos, in order to attract more audiences and attract box office. However, social media itself is a double-edged sword, and marketing methods are sometimes difficult to grasp, and there are countless films that attract attention by exaggerating facts, especially on social platforms where information spreads quickly. This article will study and analyze several common ways and types of over-marketing by using short videos, so as to find out the disadvantages of over-marketing of domestic films, and give a warning and suggestion to the publicity mode of future films.

Abstract:
This article presents the author’s original research of a reception study of religious films amongst Shona peoples in the Gora and Chikara villages, which are located in the Mashonaland West Province of Zimbabwe. The two central questions of the author’s study are: First, in what ways might pre-existing Shona images of Jesus shape Shona responses to and interpretations of Jesus as he is portrayed in The Jesus Film (1979) and in indigenous, short, Jesus films in Zimbabwe today? Secondly, how might the viewing of these films affect these images of Jesus? This article addresses how indigenous, short Jesus films in Zimbabwe have manifested different representations of Jesus from the pervasive European image of Jesus that is perpetuated by The Jesus Film. This research is particularly relevant to current trends in media and technology, as the indigenous, short Jesus films are being distributed via mobile phones in Zimbabwe.

Abstract:
In the context of the Internet era, the emergence and development of new media technology has affected many industries in society and spawned the birth and popularity of mobile short video apps represented by TikTok. This interactive new technology of TikTok has a huge influence on People's Daily life and on the traditional film industry and even the newly emerged "new media film industry". This study analyzes the impact of the interactive new technology of TikTok on the pre-production stage specifically. The impact happens in three primary angles. It demonstrates that TikTok is not just in a position to be used by filmmakers for their publicity. Meanwhile, it already started to reverse its influence on the front end of the movie industry chain. Through the method of literature research, this article gives a new definition of "new media film" and "short video", which is conducive to better-targeted research on TikTok-dominated short videos. At the same time, this study also subdivides the impact of short videos on the film industry based on the industrial chain, focusing on the impact on the pre-production stage of the film, which is rarely mentioned in previous studies.
