Analysis of chef Jakob Hosser's accounts on food used during the siege of Weineck Castle (1292)The following seminar paper examines the catering of Otto von Königsberg's troops at the siege of Weineck Castle in 1292. Firstly, the dispute between Meinhard II. and the Bishops of Trient as well as older Tyrolean accounting books are discussed. Then, the primary sources – Hosser’s accounts – are analyzed. It will be shown that Hosser’s records allow interesting conclusions on the diet of the siege troops and the chef's purchasing of goods. The analysis shows among oth

Abstract In retrospect, the turning point in the Kildare rebellion came with the rebels’ failure to capture Dublin, and the ordnance, shot and powder in the king's castle there, during the long siege in summer and autumn 1534, in part because, as this article argues, the city's capture had not initially been seen as an immediate priority. Kildare kept back most of his ordnance and gunners to defend Maynooth castle, and historians have focused instead on the brief siege and capture of Maynooth by the king's army in March. This study deals with a cumulative evaluation of finds discovered at Mokřice Castle in Bohemia between 2011 and 2019. It is a large assemblage that provides a series of insights into the daily operation of the residence. The majority of the assemblage from the excavations of the castle core date back to the final years of its existence. The castle’s demise was caused by fire and subsequent destruction, which was probably associated with its siege evidenced by the discovery of militaria. Based on these findings, it is possible to place the demise of the castle core into the 1420s. The findings

Active and passive immunotherapies have been tested for limiting cerebral Aβ deposition and/or accelerate its clearance. In such way, with our focus on AD diagnosis and therapy, we have created and characterized a bunch of antibodies targeting Aβ and tau. It also takes a look at annulment and the recent backlash that tries, mostly without success, to use the law to try to stem the tide of family breakdown. In the twentieth century, one frequently hears that marriage and the nuclear family are under siege, as divorce—and especially the rise of no-fault divorce—contributes centrally to that image. Aside from divorce, the chapter also looks at two related topics—legal separation and annulment—both of which act as substi
