The research about the preparation of submicron inorganic particles, once conducted in the past decade, is now leading to prepare polymer matrix composite (PMC) reinforced with nanofillers. The objective of present research is to study the modified effects of reinforcement dispersion of nanoparticle silica in epoxy resin on the physical properties, mechanical and thermal behaviour, and the microstructure of resultant composites. Stirrer mixing associated with manual mixing of silica sand nanoparticles (developed in our earlier research) (Ahmad and Mamat, 2012) into epoxy was followed by curing

The stabilization of Pickering emulsions with mixtures of similarly and oppositely charged detonation nanodiamonds and silica nanoparticles has been studied. Dynamic light scattering has been employed to study the influence of pH and the mass ratio of the particles on the sizes and ζ-potentials of aggregates. The formation of heteroaggregates from mixtures of similarly charged nanoparticles and the efficient stabilization of dodecane droplets have been shown and theoretically substantiated. Silica has sparked strong interest in hydrometallurgy, catalysis, the cement industry, and paper coating. The synthesis of silica particles was performed at 900 °C using the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) method. Ideally, spherical particles are obtained in one horizontal reactor from an aerosol. The controlled synthesis of submicron particles of silica was reached by changing the concentration of precursor solution. Magnetic resonance imaging is one of the most widely used diagnostic techniques in the clinic as it affords many of the attributes sought from a non-invasive imaging modality. The main limitation of MRI is its inherent insensitivity, and as a result only large-scale abnormalities can be detected from a scan. With an increasing demand for earlier cancer diagnosis there has been a move towards imaging the molecular biomarkers that are present from the beginning of the disease process. Nanoparticles have been extensively explored for biomedical applications primarily due to their nanoscale dimensions that allow them to cross biological membranes and to interact with cells and cellular components. The use of well defined inorganic nanoparticles lacks the necessary functionality to be useful in a wide range of applications, especially those in biology and medicine. As such, in order to overcome these limitations, surface modifications of nanoparticles allows tuning of the interfacial properties such as hydrophilicity, binding and adsorption of molecules and proteins, and cell
