We report a case of a 33-year-old male with a mixed germ-cell testicular tumor. Postoperative follow-up FDG-PET revealed concentration of FDG in the left inguinal area which is not tumor metastasis or local recurrence but suture reactivity granuloma. In this paper, we reviewed suture granulomas associated with false-positive findings on FDG-PET after surgery. If FDG-PET will be used more frequently in the future, it will be necessary to refrain from using silk thread in order to prevent any unnecessary surgery.

Abstract:
Avian colibacillosis caused by avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC), is a localized or systemic infection manifesting in several ways including acute fatal septicemia, hemorrhagic septicemia, swollen head syndrome, coli granuloma, salpingitis, peritonitis, omphalitis and enteritis. A farmer with one hundred, five-week old broilers complained of reduced feed and water intake and dullness of some of the broilers. He also reported that the broilers had earlier been administered both LaSota and Infectious bursal disease vaccinations. On a visit to the farm some of the birds were examined and p

Background: Granulosa cell tumours (GCT) are uncommon ovarian cancers characterised by an indolent clinical course and significant late recurrence rates. Aside from invasive surgery, there are limited therapeutic options, highlighting the need for targeted therapies. Our laboratory has previously shown that targeting X-linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis Protein (XIAP) using small molecule inhibitors known as Smac-mimetics (SM) in combination w

Abstract Study question Can Biosilk be used as scaffold for establishing a 3D-culture system to support attachment and growth of primary cells derived from adult ovarian biopsies? Summary answer The use of recombinant spider silk-based scaffold allowed the formation of 3D-structured ovarioids from both cortex and medulla isolated from 5 different patients. What is known already Fertility in women is adversely affected by several factors, such as age, environmental pollutants and diseases requiring gonadotoxic treatments. Understanding ovarian cell composition and organization may pave the way

AbstractTuberculosis like lesions (TBL) in free-range pigs are characterised by presenting a marked heterogeneity in pathology and microbiology features, with a notorious role of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTC), Trueperella pyogenes and different Streptococcus species. However, the capacity of these microorganism to spread to different organic cavities leading to a generalised disease is unknown. Therefore, this study evaluated the organic distribution of these agents in free-range pig carcasses whole condemned due to generalised TBL.A total of 37 totally condemned animals were analys

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to determine the social impact of oral and facial pain in a sample involving an industrial population. Out of a total of 355 subjects interviewed, nearly one-half claimed to have oral and facial pain in the previous one month prior to the survey. The most common type of pain was that related to hot or cold fluids or sweet things followed by toothache. On the average, the pain lasted for 4.2 days (SD = 4.9) per person in the past one-month. About one in five persons with pain reported that it was severe enough to disrupt sleep. About one in ten persons reporting pain ha
