Based on the data of water depth in the South Branch and the Hengsha Passage, and the flow spilt ratio of the North Passage and the South Passage, the reasons for the sediment deposition in the upper reach of the Deepwater Navigation Channel in the Changjiang River Estuary are explored. The study shows the influence of the development of the Hengsha Passage is significant. The development of Hengsha Passage causes the increase of sediment and water exchange between the North Channel and the North Passage, which weakens the sediment and water exchange between the North Channel and the North Pas

To date, flood is a problem that often plagues the city of Malang. Floods that occur are mainly caused by poor drainage channels and silting of drainage channels due to people's habits of throwing garbage in rivers. In the Pulosari Kiosk Area of Malang city, the flood was worsened by the capacity of the Pulosari Channel which narrowed due to illegal building. In heavy rain, so much water overflowed into the Pulosari Road, resulting in losses to traders in the area. This principle entails comprehensive (integrated) management of water resources within the river basin area [1]. In the valleys of lowland rivers with numerous bends, particularly in the Dnipro, Danube, and Vistula rivers, oxbow lakes are formed, representing remnants of old river channels. Oxbow lakes are small lakes that form on floodplains due to erosion and sediment deposition. In large cities, such lakes are important centers of biologic

Sedimentation in RoR hydropower schemes also increases trash rack blockage and reduces energy output in the long-term. Damage occurs to all underwater parts that come into contact with sediment. The main concern is sediment passing through the hydropower intake and causing turbine damage. The reason for the abrasion and cavitation of turbine blades is increased sediment loads in river channels. T

Abstract:
The Comite River diversion project is designed to reduce flooding along the Comite and Amite Rivers during flood events by diverting flow from the Comite River into the Mississippi River above Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The flow is diverted from the Comite River along a diversion canal to the Lilly Bayou Control structure. This structure allows the Comite River flow to enter the Mississippi River floodplain. A numerical model was created to evaluate the impacts associated with this addition of water to the Mississippi River. A 2D Adaptive Hydraulics numerical model was created to quantify the sys

Abstract:
The US Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and its non-federal sponsors are designing and constructing a flood risk management project that will reduce the risk of flooding in the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area. There is a 30-mile long diversion channel around the west side of the city of Fargo, as well as a staging area that will be formed upstream of a 20-mile long dam (referred to as the Southern Embankment) that collectively includes an earthen embankment with three gated structures: the Diversion Inlet Structure, the Wild Rice River Structure, and the Red River Structure (RRS).
