Abstract. Muslim lifestyle in the city which one of the causes is the development of mass me-dia, especially in religious nuances magazines. By analyzing 13rd – 18th volume of SCARF Maga-zine Cover this research is done to find out how the Scarf magazine constructs hijaber in their cover magazine version. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with Peirce semiot-ics analysis and data collection techniques in this study is by Interview, Observation, and Library Studies. From the results of this study found that there are ten symbols on the cover of Scarf maga-zine that has a meaning in accordance with the criteria of muslimah urban Scarf magazine. The ten symbols are models are public figure, entrepreneur models symbol, a gesture tilting his head, a gesture raising one foot, hand closing gesture, a fashion symbol, a hijab headscarf, a symbol of wearing a headscarf, a symbol of different makeup styles - different, and SCARF text symbols. Where the meaning is to construct hijabers in version of Scarf magazine cover. The conclusion of this research is that the symbols have a meaning that construct a muslimah in magazine cover of Scarf magazine not only through fashion but also from other symbols that fit with the characteris-tics of Muslim according to the magazine that is smart, active, independent, confident, dynamic, and commit to spirituality value. From this research SCARF should more consider about spiritual-ity value and other symbol that shown through the cover magazine according to the vison of this magazine. Abstrak. perkembangan hijab bagi muslimah di kota besar salah satunya diakibatkan perkembangan media massa khususnya majalah bernuansa agama termasuk majalah SCARF. Dengan menganalisis Cover majalah SCARF volume 13-18 penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menge-tahui bagaimana majalah SCARF mengkonstruksi perempuan berhijab versi cover majalahnya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis semiotika Charles Sand-ers Peirce dan teknik pengumpulan data Wawancara, Observasi, dan Studi Pustaka. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa terdapat sepuluh simbol pada cover majalah Scarf yang memiliki makna sesuai dengan kriteria muslimah urban mengkonstruksi perempuan berhijab versi cover majalah Scarf. Sepuluh simbol tersebut yaitu simbol model seorang public figure, simbol model seorang entrepreneur, simbol gesture mendongakkan kepala, simbol gesture meninggikan satu ka-ki, simbol gesture tangan menutup, simbol gaya busana, simbol jilbab tidak menutup dada, simbol penggunaan jilbab, simbol gaya riasan yang berbeda-beda, dan simbol teks SCARF. Simpulan dari penelitian ini simbol-simbol tersebut memiliki makna yang mengkonstruksi perempuan berhijab versi cover majalah Scarf tidak hanya melalui fashion tapi juga dari simbol lain yang sesuai dengan karakteristik muslimah menurut majalah tersebut yaitu smart, active, independent, confi-dent, dynamic, dan commit to spirituality value. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menyarankan agar majalah SCARF lebih mempertimbangkan simbol-simbol termasuk nilai-nilai spiritual yang di-tunjukkan melalui covernya agar lebih sesuai dengan tujuan majalah.

Public innovation is a peculiar form of innovation that provides new policies, new products, new services, and new infrastructures to increase public value. Many barriers can prevent this kind of innovation, so it cannot be taken for granted. Consequently, it is important to understand the conditions that can produce it. The present article is a case study on SIMAGE, a collaborative public innovation that has no equivalent in Europe and was developed in the Italian petrochemical site of Porto Marghera (in the municipality of Venice) for industrial risk prevention and crisis management. Based on sociological research conducted with qualitative techniques, I aim at accounting for the genesis and development of the process that led the public and the private sector to build jointly an effective public innovation through collaboration. The conclusion focuses on innovation processes, on the production of public goods by the public and the private sector, and on risk and crisis governance.

New Era of Television in the Perspective of Media Convergence. The development of internet technology has led to changes and developments in the world of mass communication. Because of the internet, new media emerges. The emergence of new media is changing the way people get information through the media. Initially, people got information and news through conventional media, such as newspapers, radio, or television. To be able to continue competing as a source of information demanded by the public, television media also innovates by converging. Convergence is a combination of several types of media and is present in the form of a digital platform. This research is a library research that aims to find out media convergence conducted by television media, especially in changing platforms from conventional television to digital media. Media convergence enables professionals in the mass media field to deliver news and present information and entertainment using a variety of media. The government as the regulator is fully responsible for creating regulations that can protect all elements of society from the bad influence of the media. Regulation becomes a logical consequence of the game of cultural symbols displayed by convergent media. The goal is clear, which is to avoid a conflict of interests that makes one party harmed, especially the users or the public, for they usually become the victim of the implementation of a convergence. ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi internet telah menimbulkan perubahan dan perkembangan dalam dunia komunikasi massa. Karena internet, muncullah media baru atau new media. Kemunculan media baru tersebut mengubah cara masyarakat mendapatkan informasi melalui media. Awalnya, masyarakat mendapatkan informasi dan berita melalui media konvensional, seperti surat kabar, radio, atau televisi. Untuk dapat terus berkompetisi sebagai sumber informasi yang diminati masyarakat, media televisi pun melakukan inovasi dengan cara berkonvergensi. Konvergensi adalah penggabungan dari beberapa jenis media dan hadir dalam bentuk platform digital. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian library research yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui konvergensi media yang dilakukan oleh media televisi khususnya dalam mengubah platform dari konvensional ke media digital. Konvergensi media memungkinkan para profesional di bidang media massa untuk menyampaikan berita dan menghadirkan informasi dan hiburan, dengan menggunakan berbagai macam media. Pemerintah selaku regulator bertanggung jawab penuh menciptakan regulasi yang dapat melindungi segenap elemen masyarakat dari pengaruh buruk media. Regulasi menjadi konsekuensi logis dari permainan simbol budaya yang ditampilkan oleh media konvergen. Tujuannya jelas, yakni agar tidak terjadi tabrakan kepentingan yang menjadikan salah satu pihak menjadi dirugikan. Terutama bagi kalangan pengguna atau publik, pihak ini biasanya menjadi pihak yang paling sering menjadi korban dari implementasi konvergensi.

The purpose of this study is to unfold the relations between culture and Islam in the Qur’anic perspective. This paper examines the traditions that are absorbed into the aesthetic values of Islam, namely Sedekah Laut (sea offerings) and Wayang (shadow puppet). The data were collected through observations and library studies to find out the perspective of the Quran in viewing culture and tradition. The results of this study indicated that the Quran provides spaces for humans to constantly do ijtihad (seeking) that tradition and culture (‘urf) can be positioned as a source of Islamic law (fiqh). In the meantime, the rule of ushul fiqh for this case is “all cases are basically permitted until an argument comes to forbid them.” The results of this study showed that the Javanese traditions and culture, especially Sedekah Laut and Wayang, contained the values of Aqidah (faith), Muamalah (social values), and Akhlaqul Karimah (morals). In the Aqidah value, Wayang and Sedekah Laut are positioned as symbols of obedience and gratitude to Allah SWT. In the Muamalah value, tradition can evoke the strength of the community in various fields, for example, social and economy because both traditions, especially the sea offering are able to attract people. Meanwhile, the Akhlaqul Karimah value of the sea offering is that it represents the relationship between humans and nature, while the puppet is that it becomes disposition symbols aimed at Allah SWT. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkap hubungan antara budaya dan Islam dalam perspektif al-Qur’an. Tulisan ini mengkaji tradisi yang diserap ke dalam nilai estetika Islam, yakni sedekah laut dan wayang. Data dalam tulisan ini berdasarkan observasi dan data kepustakaan untuk mengetahui perspektif al-Qur’an dalam memandang budaya dan tradisi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Al-Qur’an memberikan ruang bagi manusia untuk senantiasa berijtihad bahwa tradisi dan budaya (’urf) dapat diposisikan sebagai sumber hukum (fiqh) Islam. Dalam pada itu, kaidah ushul fiqhnya adalah “pada mulanya semua perkara diperbolehkan, sebelum ada dalil yang mengharamkannya.” Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam tradisi dan budaya (Jawa), khususnya wayang dan sedekah laut terdapat nilai aqidah, muamalah dan akhlaqul karimah. Dalam nilai aqidah, wayang dan sedekah laut diposisikan sebagai simbol ketaatan dan rasa syukur kepada Allah SWT. Dalam nilai muamalah, tradisi tersebut dapat membangkitkan kekuatan publik (kelompok) dalam berbagai bidang, misalnya sosial dan ekonomi karena kedua tradisi itu, khususnya sedekah laut mampu mengundang animo massa. Nilai akhlaqul karimah dalam sedekah laut merupakan representasi dari hubungan esoterik manusia dengan alam, sedangkan dalam wayang menjadi simbol perwatakan yang mengarah kepada Allah SWT.

AbstractFunctional languages allow rewrite-rule systems that aggressively generate a multitude of semantically-equivalent but differently-optimized code versions. In the context of GPGPU execution, this paper addresses the important question of how to compose these code versions into a single program that (near-)optimally discriminates them across different datasets. Rather than aiming at a general autotuning framework reliant on stochastic search, we argue that in some cases, a more effective solution can be obtained by customizing the tuning strategy for the compiler transformation producing the code versions.We present a simple and highly-composable strategy which requires that the (dynamic) program property used to discriminate between code versions conforms with a certain monotonicity assumption. Assuming the monotonicity assumption holds, our strategy guarantees that if an optimal solution exists it will be found. If an optimal solution doesn’t exist, our strategy produces human tractable and deterministic results that provide insights into what went wrong and how it can be fixed.We apply our tuning strategy to the incremental-flattening transformation supported by the publicly-available Futhark compiler and compare with a previous black-box tuning solution that uses the popular OpenTuner library. We demonstrate the feasibility of our solution on a set of standard datasets of real-world applications and public benchmark suites, such as Rodinia and FinPar. We show that our approach shortens the tuning time by a factor of $$6\times $$ 6 × on average, and more importantly, in five out of eleven cases, it produces programs that are (as high as $$10\times $$ 10 × ) faster than the ones produced by the OpenTuner-based technique.
