In linear systems, designers use zeros for loop-shaping and the attenuation of disturbances. For example, jω-axis zeros can be used to reject sinusoids at a specific frequency such a 50Hz or 60Hz power line interference. In this paper we constructively design nonlinear zeros — nonlinear dynamics that reject a non-sinusoidal signal — for a class of disturbance cancellation problems involving input disturbances.
