Abstract The Lessico italiano de/la didattica vocale is a relational database connecting bibliographical data, texts, and a thesaurus. In it, singing treatises written in Italian between around 1600 and 1800 have been collected and annotated in order to permit access to them in various ways: by author, place, date, and, more importantly, the keywords listed in the thesaurus. The basic principle of the Lessico is that a correct understanding of performance practice for the periods preceding recorded sound can best be gathered through the systematic study of the vocabulary used to describe musical performance. Each term or expression in the thesaurus is connected with others and all give access to the original sources, including any extant musical examples. Moreover, each term is provided with a note commenting on its history and implications. The overall architecture of the database provides a powerful research tool for musicologists and performers alike.

M-commerce (mobile commerce) applications have evolved out of e-commerce (electronic commerce) applications, riding on recent advancement in wireless communication technologies. Exploiting the most unique aspect inherent in m-commerce, namely, the mobility of customers, l-commerce (location-dependent m-commerce) applications have played an increasingly important role in the class of m-commerce applications. All e-commerce, m-commerce, and l-commerce applications rely on the provision of information retrieval and processing capability. L-commerce applications further dictate the maintenance of customer and service location information. Various database systems are deployed as the information source and repository for these applications, backed by efficient indexing mechanisms, both on regular data and location-specific data. Bean (2003) gave a good report on supporting Web-based e-commerce with XML, which could be easily extended to m-commerce. An m-commerce framework, based on JINI/XML and a workflow engine, was defined by Shih and Shim (2002). Customers can receive m-commerce services through the use of mobile devices such as pocket PCs, PDAs, or even smart phones. These mobile devices together with their users are often modeled as mobile clients. There are three types of entities central to m-commerce and l-commerce applications: mobile device, wireless communication, and database. In this article, we focus our discussion on mobile-client enabled database servers, often referred to as mobile databases. Mobile databases maintain information for the underlying m-commerce and l-commerce applications in which mobile devices serve as the hardware platform interfacing with customers, connected through wireless communication. Location is a special kind of composite data ranging from a single point, a line, a poly-line, to a shape defining an area or a building. In general, locations are modeled as spatial objects. The location of a static point of interest, such as a shop, is maintained in a database supporting spatial features and operations, often a spatial database (Güting, 1994). The location of a moving object, like a mobile customer, needs to be maintained in a moving object database (Wolfson, Sistla, Xu, Zhou, &amp; Chamberlain, 1999), a database that supports efficient retrieval and update of object locations. To enable l-commerce, both spatial databases and moving object databases need to support location-specific query processing from mobile clients and location updates they generated. The two major types of data access requirements for a mobile database are data dissemination and dedicated data access. Data dissemination is preferred, since it can serve a large client population in utilizing the high bandwidth downlink channel to broadcast information of common interest, such as stock quotations, traffic conditions, or special events. On the other hand, dedicated data access is conveyed through uplink channels with limited bandwidth. To disseminate database items effectively, the selected set of hot database items can be scheduled as a broadcast disk (Acharya, Alonso, Franklin, &amp; Zdonik, 1995). Proper indexes can be built to facilitate access to broadcast database items (Imielinski &amp; Badrinath, 1994). Moving objects databases (MODs) provide the framework for the efficient storage and retrieval of the changing position of continuously moving objects. This includes the current and past locations of moving objects and the support of spatial queries that refer to historical location information and future projections as well. Nowadays, new spatiotemporal applications that require tracking and recording the trajectories of moving objects online are emerging. Digital battlefields, traffic supervision, mobile communication, navigation systems, and geographic information systems (GIS) are among these applications. Towards this goal, during recent years many efforts have focused on MOD formalism, data models, query languages, visualization, and access methods (Guting et al., 2000; Saltenis &amp; Jensen, 2002; Sistla, Wolfson, Chamberlain, &amp; Dao, 1997). A digital information management system is carried out that allows to standardize, simplify and automate the process of capturing, storing and disposing of the information of the specimens that make up the collection of the Herbarium of Ornamental Plants ‘Carlos Contreras Pagés’ of the Faculty of Architecture (HeFA). This system includes the design, programming and automation through internal self-communication interfaces, it is composed of various elements that save the data from the first stage of work that begins with the collection, where the gathering of field information is recorded in the Log Digital. The process continues in the laboratory where the Taxonomic index card is completed. The information generated is stored in the Database, which allows the management of the data, thus counting on the information of the entire collection in an expeditious manner. and updated. It is also possible to obtain specific products, such as the total number of specimens, either by family or by the desired records, this action is done through dynamic tables and cross-information search. These features allow instant reporting and research using herbarium specimens. As well as sending the information to other databases, as in the case of HeFA, its participation in Datos Abiertos UNAM, where the information is concatenated to comply with the requirements determined by the Dirección General de Repositorios Universitarios (DGRU), who work under the Darwin Core. This database also feeds the Design Documents, which contain the information necessary for the use of plants in design projects and the conformation of specific plant palletes, both at the preliminary project level and for the executive project.

Abstract Ewa Dahlig gave an update on the Essener Assoziativ Code (EsAC) project, founded by the late Hellmut Schaffrath and now in progress at the Institute for the Arts, Warsaw. EsAC was developed for encoding monophonic music, with some of the particular demands of folk-music research in mind (analysis, printing, sorting, maintenance of related documentation, etc.). The general architecture of the system provides for various data capture/input, manipulation, and output processes. Data can be exchanged with encoding systems such as DARMS, Score, and KERN, as well as TeX, PCX, and MIDI formats. EsAC is used by researchers in Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, and Luxembourg. The repertory of encoded musical works currently numbers about 20,000; the majority of pieces are German and Polish folksongs. The Institute for the Arts would like to build a central database of international data while developing a system for the distribution of software tools, as well as for data collection and distribution.

Inside the European Union, the agricultural realities are different across the different countries, considering their particularities related, for example, to the socioeconomic, climate, and soil conditions. In these frameworks, Portugal has specific characteristics for several agricultural activities, including organic production. This chapter analyses producer prices in the Portuguese organic markets. Statistical information was considered from the SIMA (Sistema de Informação de Mercados Agrícolas) database for the weeks from 2017 to 2022, specifically for the producer prices of blueberries and strawberries across the different Portuguese regions and markets. The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine on these Portuguese markets seem irrelevant in some cases and temporary in other cases.

Portugal has particular conditions to produce milk and dairy products (butter and cheese, for example) in some regions (Azores, for example). This means that the dairy sector assumes special relevance for Portuguese agricultural and food production. In any case, there is a tendency for unbalances between the demand and the supply in these European Union markets, which led the European institutions to create milk quotas among 1984 and 2015. This research aims to analyse the prices of milk production (at the farm level) and dairy products (at the factory level) over the period 2017-2022 in the Portuguese mainland and Azores region. Data from the SIMA (Sistema de Informação de Mercados Agrícolas) database were considered. The consequences on the producer prices of these sectors were greater on the dairy products prices than on the milk prices and namely from the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

OBJECTIVE: to elucidate the main impacts suffered by the Unified Health System - from the perspective of Regulation and Regionalization - during the pandemic period, in addition to reporting some measures taken during the fight against COVID-19 in the sector of public health. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A narrative literature review was carried out in the database of electronic libraries Pubmed, Scielo and Google Scholar, using the following descriptors: “regionalization of health”, “regulation and inspection in health”, “unified health system” and “COVID-19 pandemic”. RESULTS: The main challenges identified were long queues for emergency care, high demand for ICU beds, reorganization of the coordination of care for chronic diseases, maintenance of care due to social distancing, and others. As for coping measures, we emphasize the use of Telehealth to carry out consultations and educational workshops, establishment of electronic medical records, flexibilization of referral and counter-referral flows and public measures to guarantee social distancing in health centers. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: It is concluded that emergency actions were taken in the Unified Health System to guarantee regulation and regionalization in the critical period of the pandemic, however, part of these actions were carried out in a fragmented way, making it unlikely to perpetuate these actions in the long term.
