Abstract:
Silicon carbide (SiC) static induction transistors (SITs) were fabricated using home-grown epi structures. The gate is a recessed gate - bottom contact (RG - B). The mesa space designed is 2.5 μm and the gate channel is 1.0 μm. The developed devices adopted a p-type Al ion implanted gate and power performance was improved by decreased leakage current and enhanced break-down voltage. The lift-off with assistant dielectric, dense gate recess etching, high temperature anneals and PECVD passivation process technologies are adopted. One cell has 200 source fingers and each source finger width is 50 μm. 0.5 mm SiC SIT yield a current density of 110 mA/mm at a drain voltage of 50 V. A maximum current density of 160 mA/mm was achieved with Vd = 80V, and the maximum transconductance is 40mS/mm. The device blocking voltage with a gate bias of-12 V was 400 V. Packaged 2 × 2-cm devices were evaluated using amplifier circuits designed for class AB operations. A total power output in excess of 70 W was obtained with a power density of 17.5 W/cm and gain of 5.5 dB at L band 1 GHz under pulse 100μs and cycle ratio 1% RF operation and 80V drain to source voltage.

Die Pollinosis ist häufig und betrifft bis zu 20% der Bevölkerung. Die Abklärung basiert auf Anamnese, Hauttests und/oder Bestimmung von spezifischem IgE im Serum gegen die entsprechenden Allergene. Zur Behandlung können Allergenkarenz, wirksame und verträgliche Medikamente sowie die kausale allergen-spezifische Immuntherapie (SIT) eingesetzt werden. Der Erfolg der SIT hängt wesentlich von der richtigen Selektion des Patienten, der präzisen Extraktzusammensetzung, dem geeigneten Therapieschema und der Führung des Patienten ab. Der Artikel gibt eine aktuelle Übersicht über Wirksamkeit, Verträglichkeit, Indikationen und Kontraindikationen der subkutanen (SCIT) und sublingualen Immuntherapie (SLIT). Verbesserte Verfahren lassen zudem in naher Zukunft auch eine Effizienzsteigerung bei weniger zeitaufwändigen Applikationsschemata für die SIT erwarten.

Allergische Erkrankungen der Atemwege sind häufig in der täglichen Praxis und betreffen bis zu 25% der Bevölkerung. Die Abklärung basiert auf einer eingehenden Anamnese, Hauttests und/oder Bestimmung von spezifischem IgE im Serum gegen die entsprechenden Allergene. Zur Behandlung können größtmögliche Allergenkarenz, eine zunehmend wirksamere und besser verträgliche medikamentöse Therapie sowie die allergen-spezifischen Immuntherapie (SIT) als einzige Therapie mit kausalem Ansatz eingesetzt werden. Der Erfolg der SIT hängt wesentlich ab von der richtigen Selektion des Patienten, der Wahl des Extraktes mit dem für den Patienten relevanten Allergenen, dem geeigneten Therapieschema und der Führung des Patienten. Durch die komponenten-basierte Bestimmung von IgE gegen Einzelallergene eröffnen sich neue Perspektiven in der In-Vitro-Allergiediagnostik. Verbesserte Verfahren und moderne molekularbiolgische Methoden lassen zudem in naher Zukunft auch eine Effizienzsteigerung bei weniger zeitaufwändige Applikationsschemata für die SIT erwarten.

Abstract:
Pollen sind die häufigsten Auslöser von Atemwegsallergien und betreffen annährend 20 % der Bevölkerung. Dabei sind hierzulande vor allem Baumpollen, Gräserpollen sowie einzelne Kräuterpollen als Allergene relevant. Die Abklärung basiert auf einer eingehenden Anamnese, Hauttests und/oder Bestimmung von spezifischem IgE gegen die entsprechenden Allergene. Durch die differenzierte Bestimmung von IgE gegen molekulare Einzelallergene eröffnen sich neue Perspektiven in der In-Vitro-Allergiediagnostik, die wesentlich zu einem besseren Verständnis etwa von Kreuzreaktivitätsphänomen wie auch der spezifische Immuntherapie beitragen. Die Behandlung der Pollenallergie basiert auf der größtmöglichen Allergenkarenz, der zunehmend wirksameren und nebenwirkungsärmeren medikamentösen Therapie sowie der allergen-spezifischen Immuntherapie (SIT) als einziger kausaler Therapie mit Ansprechraten bei bis zu 80 % der Patienten. Die SIT mit Pollenextrakten ist besonders bei mittlerer bis schwerer allergischer Rhinitis und leichteren bis mittlerem Schweregrad des allergischen Asthma sinnvoll. Auch bei Allergien auf Hausstaubmilben kann die SIT eine effiziente Behandlung darstellen. Für Allergien auf Tierepithelien und Schimmelpilzsporen ist die Datenlage dürftig; hier ist die SIT nur in Ausnahmefällen indiziert. Mit der subkutaner IT für ganzjährige Anwendungen wie auch Kurzzeitschemata mit Allergoiden und der sublingualen IT stehen verschiedene erprobte und gut dokumentierte Applikationsarten zur Verfügung. Der Erfolg einer SIT schließlich hängt ab von der richtigen Selektion des Patienten, der Wahl des Extraktes und geeigneten Therapieschemas und auch wesentlich von der Führung und Compliance des Patienten.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to compare electromyographic (EMG) activity of the abdominal muscles between the crunch exercise and five other popular abdominal exercises. Surface EMG recordings of four muscles (upper rectus, lower rectus, external oblique, and internal oblique) of the anterior abdominal wall were collected and analyzed on 20 healthy, male volunteers. EMG activity was recorded during execution of the abdominal crunch, the sit-up, and exercises performed with the Abflex machine, the AbRoller, the Nordic Track Ab Works, and the Nautilus crunch machine. The results indicate that the crunch exercise is comparable to the five other abdominal exercises with respect to muscle activation of the internal and external abdominal oblique muscles. Activation of the upper rectus abdominal muscles appears to be best achieved with the Abflex machine, whereas the crunch exercise is superior to the sit-up for activation of the upper and lower rectus abdominal muscles.

Studien betraktar informations- och materialflödet för legomaterial på Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB i Finspång. Det studerade problemet gäller att det finns en dålig uppfattning bland de anställda om hur flödet och arbetet med lego ser ut, samt dålig kommunikation mellan de inblandade avdelningarna. Genom intervjuer med ansvariga för legomaterialsamt granskning av tidigare dokument har legoflödet kunnat beskrivas. Problematiken på företaget har studerats utifrån teori kring processer och flöden samt kommunikation, integration och koordinering Rapporten presenterar en samordnad bild över arbetet med legomaterial genom en kartläggning med tillhörande flödesschema över informations- och materialflödet för lego inom företaget. I studien har problem med koordination och samarbetet mellan de inblandade avdelningarna identifierats. Rapporten följs upp med förslag på åtgärder och vidare arbete för att lösa problemen.

This Master thesis has been carried out at Scania CV AB in Södertälje, in collaboration with KTH, The Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. The focus of this Master thesis is Set Based Concurrent Engineering (SBCE), with the purpose of answering the questions: what is SBCE, how does it work, and for what purposes is it applied. It was early established that SBCE is often included as a part of Lean product development, which in its turn is often related to Toyota’s way of working. The SBCE method includes working with multiple solutions in parallel, eliminating weak alternatives throughout the whole process. In opposite to a conventional product development process, where it is common one at an early stage tries to identify and choose the most promising alternative. Despite the appearance of SBCE as a resource consuming method, figures from Toyota indicates the opposite, that SBCE is in fact a very effective way of working compared to other more traditional methods. The process of this Master thesis was divided into three phases. An extensive information gathering part was carried out with the purpose of compiling available material about SBCE. Subsequently, an overview of the present work procedures at Scania was gathered, but no signs of SBCE were found. Based on the theory and the empirical results, an extensive discussion is presented. This constitutes the base for two presentations produced: one summarizing to be presented at KTH, and one extended version to be used as education material about SBCE at Scania. These are however not presented in this report. Consequently the main purpose of this Master thesis has then been to compile and present available material about SBCE. Conclusions for this thesis are thereby mostly drawn from available literature. It was established that major differences between SBCE and traditional product development exist. It was however not possible to decide how important SBCE alone has been for the success of Toyota. It was also concluded, based on the literature, that SBCE may work both as a system for minimizing risks as well as maximizing knowledge in product development. But SBCE should however, for maximizing its potential, be accompanied and supported by a few other systems and tools.
Detta examensarbete är utfört i samarbete med Scania CV AB i Södertälje och Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, Stockholm. Examensarbetet handlar om Set Based Concurrent Engineering (SBCE), med ett övergripande syfte att besvara följande frågor: vad SBCE är för något, hur det fungerar och vad det kan användas till. Inledningsvis konstaterades att SBCE många gånger innefattas som ett delmoment inom Lean Produktutveckling, vilket i sin tur ofta kopplas samman med Toyotas arbetssätt. Arbetsmetoden för SBCE fokuserar på att undersöka och utveckla fler lösningar parallellt och eliminera svaga alternativ efter hand, till skillnad från traditionell produktutveckling som tidigt väljer det mest lovande alternativet. Trots att SBCE vid en första introduktion kan verka väldigt resurskrävande, tyder siffror från Toyota på det motsatta, att SBCE faktiskt är en effektivare metod än många traditionella angreppssätt. Examensarbetet har delats in i tre faser. Dels har en omfattande informationssökning genomförts, med syfte att sammanställa tillgängligt material om SBCE. Därefter har en nulägesanalys av Scanias arbetssätt genomförts, vilken dock inte fann några spår av SBCE. Tillsammans har den insamlade teorin och empirin sammanställts och diskuterats, för att sedan utgöra grund för två presentationer. En sammanfattande presentation för KTH, samt ett omfattande utbildningsmaterial för internt användande på Scania, vilket således inte inkluderats i denna rapport. Ett ytterligare övergripande mål fanns: att utföra examensarbetet med ett SBCE angreppssätt, samt reflektera över huruvida angreppssättet är lämpligt för liknande examensarbeten. Tyngdpunkten på detta examensarbete har dock varit att sammanställa och presentera tillgängligt material kring SBCE. Slutsatserna för examensarbetet utgår från litteraturens beskrivning. Det konstaterades att väsentliga skillnader mellan SBCE och traditionell produktutveckling fanns, men hur stor betydelse SBCE har i praktiken för Toyotas framgångar är svårare att bedöma. Det ansågs också att SBCE i teorin kan fungera som både ett riskreducerande och kunskapsbyggande system för produktutveckling, men att SBCE för maximal potential bör kompletteras och stödjas med ett antal andra metoder, system och verktyg.

Titel: ”Att likna eller att våga skilja ut sig från konkurrenterna” Nivå: C-uppsats i ämnet företagsekonomi Författare: Elin Larsson & David Wiklander Handledare: Per-Arne Wickström Datum: Augusti 2013 Syfte: Syftet är att kvalitativt undersöka likformigheten hos Sveriges största arkitektföretag, exemplifierat genom Tengbomgruppens totala värdeerbjudande. Metod: Studien är en fallstudie av ett arkitektföretag med kvalitativ ansats. Empiriska data består av information om sex större arkitektföretag som är tillgängligt på internet samt djupintervjuer och skriftligt material från det specifika fallföretaget. Vi har också samlat litteratur och forskning utifrån både ett modernt och ett traditionellt perspektiv för att kunna beskriva studiens teoretiska referensram samt relevant forskning rörande ett totalt värdeerbjudande för arkitektföretag.  Resultat & slutsats: De största arkitektföretagens totala värdeerbjudanden i Sverige befinner sig i en likformig inramning med klientlojalitet som grundsats. Alla är diversifierade i form av en ”allt för alla”-strategi, samtidigt presenterar de en lågmäld differentiering inom deras värdeerbjudanden. Hållbarhet och kompentens är två grundläggande positioneringar som alla framhäver. Det är framförallt utifrån dessa två som differentieringen sedan åskådliggörs i form av en diskret specifik positionering. Anledningen till den utbredda likformigheten beror på den kunskapsintensiva komplexitet som måste framhävas inom den klientanpassande arkitektbranschen  Uppsatsens bidrag: Det kvalitativa angreppsättet och den specifika inriktningen på svenska arkitektföretag är studiens största bidrag, då det finns en avsaknad av studier inom detta område som har analyserats och tolkats ur detta perspektiv. Genom att genomföra en djupanalys av ett företag sammantaget med en mer övergripande analys av andra fallföretag har studien bidragit med en kontextualisering beträffande arkitektbranschens totala värdeerbjudande.

Denna studie har utförts på företaget Camfil Power Systems AB (CFPS) som är en del i Camfil Farr koncernen vilken är ett globalt omfattande företag inom filter- och renluftlösningar. Ett företag som ständigt utvecklas och vill anpassa sina produkter efter den rådande marknaden. Därför håller de just nu på att se över hela sin affärsprocess för att ta fram ett nytt koncept som gör dem mer konkurrenskraftiga. Efter inledande samråd tilldelades en uppgift som var anpassad efter vår utbildning, vilket begränsade sig till att lägga upp ett förslag för att korta genomloppstiden i produktion för renluftslösningen SGT-800. Studien baseras på grundlig genomgång av olika teorier för att kunna lösa den givna uppgiften. Efter påbörjat arbete begränsades det till att bli en ren kvalitativ studie på grund av mätningar på företaget inte var möjligt. Efter avslutade studier kom vi fram till att modularisering och outsourcing kan vara tänkbara lösningar för företaget samtidigt som ständigt förbättringsarbete tillämpas.

Abstract:

The aim of this report is to analyse the use of the capacity at the CNC (computer numerical control) cutters and show how the level of set up time for these cutters at Stålöv AB. This assignment is concrete whereas there are no subjective questions to this matter and there are only cold figures presented.

Production economy is getting more important as the competition hardens and there are several different ways to increase productivity and efficiency in a company. In order to increase productivity and efficiency work studies are used to, through an analysis, find developments in methods that result in improved work methods and to establish the time that are used. Increased production of different parts and customer driven production in combination with increased demands on rationalisation of capital have led to an enlarged interest for shorter set up times in the production.

To point out the use of capacity and the set up time of the cutters at Stålöv AB we used frequency studies. Frequency studies are work measure methods based on random observations on predetermined events to calculate the relative occurrence of these events. The purpose is to present the objective cold figures that show the use of capacity for all machines and totally.

The compilation of the seven CNC cutters shows that the use of capacity reaches 33 %. The lack of machine operators is the single largest reason, 45 % of the total use of capacity. The set up time reaches 6 % totally of the 36 hours of observation of the machines.

The study of the separate CNC cutters shows that the result follows the result of the compilation of all machines; the main reason why the use of capacity is low depends on the lack of machine operators. This means that if the demand increases there will not be enough operators to meet this demand.

If using SMED, the set up time percentage share of the total use of capacity are too large, but the production of prototypes that supplies great value to the company may justify the set up times.

By using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), based on the elimination of breakdowns and defective products, the stability in production and the use of capacity may increase.

Denna studie är en fallstudie som ger ett exempel på en organisation som, genom att införa ett artistkoncept, kan presentera för sina medarbetare vad som förväntas av dem i arbetet. Organisationen är Parks and Resorts Scandinavia AB och syftet med denna studie är att studera hur deras rekryteringschefer gör för att vid nyrekryteringar presentera vad det innebär att arbeta för ett företag med ett artistkoncept samt hur detta synliggörs genom rekryteringsprocessens olika delar. Studien bygger på en kvalitativ forskningsmetod med en kombination av datainsamlingsmetoder såsom text- och innehållsanalys, observation samt intervjuer. Den teori som använts är Arlie Hochschilds (1983) teori om Emotional labor. De slutsatser som kan dras från denna studie är att Parks and Resorts arbete med emotional labor, att de anställda ska utstråla vissa känslor och sälja en upplevelse, verkar spela en stor roll för deras verksamhet och att det beteende personalen uppvisar kan bidra till deras intäkter och resultat. Parks and Resorts har utvecklat utförliga och tydliga strategier för att få artistkonceptet att nå fram till sina anställda, redan i rekryteringsprocessen. Rekryteringscheferna kan ses som den yttersta och viktigaste länken i detta och använder sig dagligen av artistkonceptet i sitt arbete.

In this study, n-Type 6H-SiC(0001) substrates were implanted with three fluencies of Mn' 5x10¹⁵ Mn/cm² (Mn content : 0. 7%), 1x10¹⁶ (~2 %), and 5x10¹⁶ cm² (7%) with implantation energy of 80 keV and substrate temperature of 365°C. The samples were characterized using Rutherford Backscattering and Channeling Spectroscopy (RBS/C), High Resolution X-Ray Diffraction technique (HRXRD), micro Raman Spectroscopy (μRS) and Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) techniques. The aims were to investigate implantation-induced defects upon dose and to study any correlation between disorder-composition and magnetic properties. RBS/C spectra were fitted using McChasy code, and the corresponding results show that 41% of Mn occupy substitutional sites for the lowest dose, 63% for intermediate Mn content, whereas an almost amorphization occurred for the highest dose. The hysteresis loops of the all samples have typical ferromagnetic shapes. The maximum magnetic moments were obtained for the fluence of 1×10¹⁶ Mn/cm² at which the ratio of Mn at substitutional site was maximum. In addition, we investigated the structural and magnetic properties of Mn-doped 6H-SiC using ab-initio calculations. Various configurations of Mn sites and vacancy types were considered. The calculations showed that a substitutional Mn atom at Si site possesses larger magnetic moment than Mn atom at C site. A model is introduced to explain the dependence of the magnetic structure on site occupation. The magnetic properties of ferromagnetically (FM) and antiferromagnetically (AFM) coupled pair of Mn atoms with and without neighboring vacancies have also been explored
Dans cette étude, des substrats 6H-SiC (0001) de type-n ont été implantés avec trois concentrations de Mn' : 5 x 10¹⁵ Mn/cm² (teneur en Mn : 0,7%), 1 x 10¹⁶ (~ 2%), et 5 x 10¹⁶ cm² (7 %) à une énergie d'implantation de 80 keV et pour une température de substrat de 365° C. Les échantillons ont été caractérisés par spectroscopie de rétrodiffusion de Rutherford, diffraction des rayons-X à haute résolution, spectroscopie micro-Raman et magnétométrie SQUID. L’objectif est d’étudier l’effet des défauts induits par l'implantation et de déduire une corrélation avec les propriétés magnétiques. Les résultats obtenus à partir des résultats de RBS/C montrent que 41% des Mn occupent les sites de substitution pour la plus faible concentration, 63% pour la concentration intermédiaire, alors qu’une structure amorphe apparaît pour la dose la plus élevée. Les cycles d'hystérésis présentent des formes typiques d’une réponse ferromagnétique. Le moment magnétique maximal a été obtenu pour la concentration 1×10¹⁶ Mn/cm² à laquelle le taux de Mn en site de substitution est maximal. Les résultats expérimentaux ont été confrontés aux résultats des calculs ab initio. Différentes configurations de sites Mn et types d'occupation ont été pris en compte. Les calculs ont montré qu'un atome de Mn substitué sur le site d’un atome de Si possède un moment magnétique supérieur à celui d’un atome Mn sur un site C. Un modèle est introduit pour expliquer la dépendance de la structure magnétique au type d'occupation des sites. Les propriétés magnétiques de paires d’atomes Mn couplés, type ferromagnétique (FM) et antiferromagnétique (AFM), avec et sans sites voisins vacants, ont également été explorées

Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB (SIT) Finspong is increasingly asked by customers to consider if a wider range of gas compositions may be operated in its gas turbines. A large part of these fuel compositions contain high concentrations of highly reactive components like hydrogen and ethane. Such fuel compositions are characterized by higher flame speeds than the standard natural gas which introduce increased risk for flashback and premature combustor and/or fuel nozzle distress. The SIT approach for fuel flexibility testing, Experimental Burner In Test engine (EBIT) uses a separate feed for testing a selected fuel composition in one burner in a standard gas turbine installation where the other burners use fuel from the standard fuel system. The separate feed is operated as a slave to engine governor heat demand, but can also be controlled independently. This paper describes how EBIT was used to test the capability of the SIT 3rd generation DLE burner to satisfactorily operate using highly reactive fuel components such as ethane and hydrogen. Combustion monitoring techniques and measurements to check flame behavior and assess flashback potentials of the tested fuel compositions are described. Results from testing show that the SIT 3rd generation DLE burner allows extending the levels of reactive fuel components accepted for operation on the SGT-700 33MW engine and SGT-800 50MW engine.

Opportunity gaseous fuels are of great interest for small and medium sized gas turbines. The variety of gaseous fuels that Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB (SIT) is requested to make judgments on is continuously expanding. From such requests follows an increasing need for testing new fuels. The SIT novel approach for fuel flexibility testing, EBIT, has been to combine the single burner rig testing with a full scale engine test to give a cost effective and flexible solution. The combination of the two approaches is accomplished by using a separate feed of testing fuel to one or more burners in a standard gas turbine installation where the other burners use standard fuel from standard fuel system for engine operation. The separate feed of testing fuel can be operated as a slave to engine governor heat demand, but can also be controlled independently. This paper describes how EBIT has been implemented and tested. Combustion monitoring techniques and measurements to check behavior and predictions for full scale engine tests are presented. Results from testing with a blended natural gas with more than 50% of heat input from pentane, C5H12, in a SGT-700 engine shows that the EBIT concept is possible and powerful. The SIT 3rd generation DLE burner proves to be very fuel flexible and tolerant to high levels of pentane in the fuel. Less than 20% increase in NOx emissions can be expected when using pentane rich fuels. The burner is used in the SGT-800 47MW engine and the SGT-700 31MW engine.

Associated gases at oil wells are often rich in heavy hydrocarbons (HHC, here denoting hydrocarbons heavier than propane). HHC cause handling difficulties and the combustion properties are quite different from standard natural gas. For this and other reasons HHC rich associated gases are often flared or vented. This is an enormous waste of useable energy and a significant contribution to emissions of pollutants, global CO2 and other greenhouse gases. Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB in Finspong (SIT AB) recently tested a standard DLE 25 MW SGT-600 gas turbine and a standard 31 MW SGT-700 gas turbine with HHC rich natural gas. Pentane was chosen as a model substance for HHC. The tested gases had up to 30% of the fuel heating value from pentane. The unmodified standard DLE gas turbines proved to be very tolerant to the tested pentane rich gases. CO emissions were reduced with increasing pentane content in the fuel for the same power output. NOx was observed to increase linearly with the pentane content. Combustion dynamics was affected mildly, but noticeably by the pentane rich fuel. This result, together with earlier presented results for the same DLE engines on nitrogen rich natural gases, gives an accepted and tested total LHV range of 25–50 MJ/kg and Wobbe index range of 25–55 MJ/Nm3. No special adaptation of the gas turbines was necessary for allowing this wide fuel range. The benefit of increased and proven fuel flexibility is obvious as it allows the gas turbine owner to make full use of opportunity fuels and to supply power at low fuel cost.

The “4th Generation DLE” (4G-DLE) gas turbine burner has been developed at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB in Finspong, Sweden (SIT). The present document describes the design concepts of the 4G-DLE burner; emission performance and fuel flexibility capacity. These features were explored at atmospheric conditions at SIT. High concentrations of H2 and N2 mixed with natural gas were used in the experiments. Emissions (NOx, Unburned hydrocarbons, CO), combustion dynamics and temperature operation range were evaluated. Moreover, operation characteristics of the burner were investigated through forced flashback, flameouts and unfavorable ignition situations. The fuel flexibility concerning H2 stretched up to 90% vol. in a mixture with natural gas. In the case of N2 it was possible to use over 50% vol. mixed with natural gas. The operation was stable in all cases. The 4G-DLE burner showed good NOx emission performance that was linearly dependent on the flame temperature, while CO levels were also low. This fact reveals the high mixing level achieved in the burner. Finally; the burner operated over in a wide flame temperature range (approximately 200 K), showing both good stability and good emission levels.

Out of Phase Thermo Mechanical Fatigue (OP TMF) 100–950°C tests with 5 min hold time, some including intermediate ageing for 4000h at 950°C after 25 cycles, have been performed on IN738LC at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery (SIT) AB. In the standard tests, the variation in stress range during the tests was neutral. When tests with intermediate ageing were added to the analysis, the combination of test data strongly suggest that the neutral response above was because of a fairly even competition between softening due to degradation (particle coarsening etc.) and work hardening. We have concluded that the work hardening occuring for a lab hold time of 5 min. will be insignificant under more realistic, i.e. component-near, hold times. Based on this, we have devised a method for reduction of lab TMF test results, with their too short hold times, to handle actual, i.e. significantly longer, component hold times.

The Siemens gas turbine SGT-800 has an annular combustor and 30 dry low emission burners. In order to further reduce the emission levels and to obtain improved understanding of the flow and associated flame dynamics, single burner rig tests have been performed. The laboratory measurements are complemented by Large Eddy Simulation (LES) to analyze the effect on the flame dynamics due to the transient fuel distribution and mixing process in the burner. The study includes both atmospheric and high pressure conditions. The computational model was developed jointly by Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB (SIT) and FOI. It is based on a finite rate chemistry LES model using a Partially Stirred Reactor (PaSR) turbulence chemistry interaction model and a two-step CH4/air mechanism developed by FOI. The results are compared to measurements performed jointly by SIT and Lund Institute of Technology. The experimental data includes wall temperature, pressure fluctuations, light intensity variation and simultaneous Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence of OH and acetone. The study is further complemented by Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) calculations of the fuel concentration field evaluated to laser measurements in a water rig using the same burner configuration. Different burner fuel distributions are examined and the corresponding influence on the downstream mixing, fuel distribution and flame dynamics are studied. The results indicate that the fuel distribution upstream the flame, the detailed modeling of the fuel supply manifold, including the specification of numerical boundary conditions, and the flow in the fuel and air supply pipes, have significant influence on the flame dynamics. This is proven by the successful combustion LES of an unstable flame that experiences high flame dynamics and that a modification of the boundary conditions alters the dynamics resulting in a more stable flame. This is well in accordance with the experimental data and previous experience at SIT. The modal structures caused by the interaction between the flow, acoustics and flame dynamics are analyzed using the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) technique. The dominating modes in general originate from the burner mixing tube air-fuel-mass flow-interaction and flame-combustion chamber interaction.

Abstract:
Abstract Hydrogen is one of the leading options for storing energy from renewables and surplus electricity. Hydrogen is also a major constituent in various streams in the chemical industry and cannot always be used for better purposes than flaring or heat and power generation. Siemens has identified the 24MWe SGT-600 3rd generation DLE gas turbine as a candidate for having a high hydrogen capability. The burners for using hydrogen in the SGT-600 have been developed for and by Additive Manufacturing technology. The advantages of this technology have been integrated into the presented design and therefore allowing: • Rapid prototyping with possibilities for fast turnaround of tests and screening of various concepts • Manufacturing of complex geometries with smart gas passages, very innovative cooling and mixing concepts • Small series and minimum waste with reduced cost • Good repeatability and stability of product quality Burner development was carried out according to “the standard method within the industry”, meaning CFD-analysis, atmospheric single burner combustion testing followed by pressurized single burner combustion testing and finally a full-scale machine test at the SIEMENS Industrial Turbomachinery AB (SIT) test rig facility in Sweden. The rig is used for full scale testing of gas turbines in the power output range from 15MW to 62MW. It allows testing not only with standard natural gas but also gas mixtures with e.g. hydrogen or nitrogen can be run. The test facility has liquid fuel capability. During the burner development process, a project including two SGT-600 running on up to 60 volume % hydrogen was awarded to Siemens. This meant that a very definite target for the development was set and the results of these efforts are presented in this paper. An adapted 3rd gen. DLE burner design proved to be capable of using 100% hydrogen at SGT-600 full load conditions at the single burner high pressure tests giving only 35 ppm NOx@15%O2. This was a major step in the development of a hydrogen burner for the SGT-600. The following full engine test with the same burner type showed the possibility to run with 60 vol-% H2 at 0–100% load while keeping stable combustion and achieving emissions below 25 ppm NOx@15%O2 in the standard operating range of the SGT-600. At lower loads higher hydrogen contents were tested (95 vol-%) but the flow capacity of the fuel system limited the full exploration of hydrogen capability of the SGT-600 3rd gen. DLE gas turbine. The 3rd gen. DLE burner is also used in the 33MWe SGT-700 and the 62MWe SGT-800, which will also benefit from the development of the increased SGT-600 hydrogen capability. The results open the possibility of using H2 rich gas more widely in all gas turbine configurations using 3rd gen. DLE burner.

Denna rapport presenterar en studie av Vilhelmina Södra samebys erfarenheter av de konsekvenser som gruvan på Stihken fört med sig, en gruva som drevs av Boliden Mineral AB 1976–1988. Det finns i dag ett stort kunskapsglapp angående vilka de faktiska konsekvenserna är av gruvindustri på samisk markanvändning, inklusive renskötseln. Detta är så vitt vi vet första gången som forskningen empiriskt belyser konsekvenserna av gruvindustrin, och de faktiska utfallen av försöken till efterbehandling, utifrån en samebys egna erfarenheter och kunskap. Studien genomfördes 2019–2020 i ett samarbete mellan samebyn, Svenska Samernas Riksförbund och Stockholm Environment Institute. Datainsamlingen har bestått av arbetsmöten, intervjuer, workshops, dokumentanalys och kartering med stöd av RenGIS och forskning om störningszoner. Fokus i denna rapport ligger på just Vilhelmina Södra samebys erfarenheter och gruvans konsekvenser för andra samebyar eller icke-renskötande samer i området har därför inte inkluderats. Resultaten visar den omfattande påverkan som gruvan haft på samebyn, dels under driftperioden men i högsta grad också efteråt. Under drifttiden förorsakade gruvan stora direkta och indirekta markförluster, med störningar från brytningen och trafiken, damning på betet, blockering av det naturliga flyttstråket och förlust av stora delar av samebyns renar in i Norge eller in på grannbyarnas mark på svensk sida. I nutid handlar de största konsekvenserna om en omfattande störning från besöksnäringen på grund av vägen som drogs i tidigare väglöst land. Detta föranleder i sin tur stort betesbortfall; försämrad djurhälsa och kondition för renen; förhöjd arbetsbelastning, fysiska påfrestningar, och arbetsmiljörisker för renskötarna; ökade kostnader för renskötselaktiviteter; samt förlust av samiska kulturminnen, ökad psykisk påfrestning, försämrade möjligheter för samebyns unga att satsa på renskötseln, och förlust av traditionell kunskap. Dessa forskningsresultat är viktiga för att korrigera vanligt förekommande missuppfattningar i den politiska och offentliga debatten kring gruvindustrin: nämligen att gruvindustrin och renskötseln kan samexistera utan någon större påverkan på renskötseln. De visar också tydligt vem som har bäst kunskap att bedöma riskerna vid en gruvetablering: samebyn identifierade redan på 1960-talet, och det ganska så exakt, de risker som denna studie nu kunnat visa blivit verklighet medan försöken från statens representanter var långt mindre precisa. Exempelvis antog statens experter en total störningszon på 500 meter runt gruvområdet och 100 meter på bägge sidor om vägen. Detta står i stark kontrast till de störningszoner som samebyn faktiskt har upplevt, nämligen upp mot 10 kilometer för gruvan och 1,5 kilometer för vägen. Problemen härrör främst från det faktum att svensk lagstiftning inte ger tillräckligt skydd för samiska rättigheter. De hänger även ihop med statens tvetydiga roll i hanteringen av de intressekonflikter som uppstår när man både har en skyldighet att skydda samiska rättigheter och ska tillgodose olika samhälls- och företagsekonomiska intressen i utvinningen av mineraler. Denna brist på ansvarstagande, som samebyn upplever från statens sida, visar med all tydlighet att den koloniala exploateringen av naturresurserna i Sápmi inte är ett historiskt fenomen utan något som i allra högsta grad fortgår än i dag. Som ett exempel har inga ansträngningar som helst gjorts för att se över huruvida den begränsade ekonomiska ersättningen som staten genomförde under 1960–70 talet verkligen motsvarar de faktiska skador som samebyn fått uthärda. Det finns flera sätt att åtgärda problemen i området vid Stihken. Exempelvis skulle regeringen kunna ge SGU i uppdrag att återställa området från tidigare prospekteringsverksamhet och kommun och länsstyrelse skulle i sin tur kunna ingripa för att hantera besöksnäringen och friluftslivet. Vad denna studie främst belyser är dock behovet av en genomgripande strategi från statens sida för att komma till rätta med konsekvenserna av Bolidens gruvprojekt och dess följdeffekter. Utifrån senaste årens rättsutveckling torde det numera finnas goda möjligheter för staten att se över sitt ansvar för de skador som framkommit på området vid Stihken.

Dieser Artikel geht im zweiten Kapitel zunächst auf Schumpeters Entwicklungstheorie mit ihrer Hervorhebung von Innovationen als der entscheidenden Triebfeder ökonomischen Wandels ein. Dabei werden sowohl deren Ursachen in Form eines dynamischen Unternehmertums und unterschiedliche Ausprägungen in Gestalt verschiedener Typen von Innovationen (Kapitel 2.1) als auch die mit innovatorischen Neuerungen verbundenen Folgewirkungen, wie sie sich in jenem bereits erwähnten „Prozess der schöpferischen Zerstörung“ sowie dem durch Innovationen hervorgerufenen Konjunkturschwankungen ausdrücken (Kapitel 2.2), näher beleuchtet. Daran anknüpfend erfolgt in einem dritten Kapitel eine eingehende Betrachtung der an die entwicklungstheoretischen Überlegungen Schumpeters anknüpfenden Ansätze und Konzepte, um diese auf ihre methodologische wie inhaltliche Kompatibilität in Bezug auf Schumpeters Analyse hin kritisch zu überprüfen. Den Ausgangspunkt bildet dabei zunächst die für den Ansatz Schumpeters charakteristische Gegenüberstellung von Allokations- und Entwicklungslogik, die auch seinem Verständnis von Gleichgewichts- und Ungleichgewichtsanalyse zugrunde liegt (Kapitel 3.1). Darauf aufbauend wird gezeigt, dass weder der im Rahmen der Neuen Wachstumstheorie unternommene Versuch einer Integration Schumpeters (Kapitel 3.2) noch die im Kontext der Industrieökonomik formulierte Schumpeter-Hypothese (Kapitel 3.3) eine angemessene bzw. zutreffende Reflexion seiner Überlegungen darstellen. Dies kann in ähnlicher Weise auch für den Rekurs evolutionsökonomischer Ansätze auf Schumpeters Entwicklungstheorie gezeigt werden (Kapitel 3.4). Im Unterschied zu den beiden zuvor genannten Forschungsfeldern fällt die Schnittmenge zur evolutorischen Ökonomik zwar deutlich größer aus, von einer weitgehenden inhaltlichen wie methodologischen Übereinstimmung kann aber dennoch keine Rede sein. Die Ausführungen im abschließenden vierten Kapitel zielen darauf ab, Bausteine für eine konstruktive Weiterentwicklung von Schumpeters Theorie der unternehmerischen Innovation zu benennen. Unter Einbezug von Erkenntnissen der ökonomischen Innovations- und Unternehmensforschung, der dynamischen Markt- und Wettbewerbstheorie sowie der psychologischen Motivationsforschung wird ein Erklärungsansatz vorgestellt, der unternehmerisches Neuerungsverhalten als Grundlage wirtschaftlicher Entwicklungsprozesse in Abhängigkeit von äußeren Handlungsbedingungen (formelle und informelle Institutionen) und inneren Handlungsbeschränkungen (Motivation, Fähigkeiten, Lernprozesse) der innovierenden Akteure betrachtet. Damit – so zumindest der Anspruch – können, systematischer als dies bei Schumpeter der Fall ist, die nach aktuellem Stand der Forschung als relevant anzusehenden Bestimmungsfaktoren des unternehmerischen Innovationsverhaltens im Hinblick auf wirtschaftliche Entwicklungsprozesse in den Blick genommen werden.

Denna rapport presenterar en studie av Voernese samebys erfarenheter av de konsekvenser som gruvan i Stihkeområdet fört med sig, en gruva som drevs av Boliden Mineral AB mellan år 1976–1988. Det finns i dag ett stort kunskapsglapp angående vilka de faktiska konsekvenserna är av gruvindustri på renskötsel och annan samisk markanvändning. Detta är så vitt vi vet första gången som forskningen empiriskt belyser konsekvenserna av gruvindustrin och försöken till efterbehandling av gruvområdet utifrån en samebys egna erfarenheter och kunskap. Studien genomfördes 2019–2020 i ett samarbete mellan samebyn, Svenska Samernas Riksförbund och SEI. Datainsamlingen har bestått av arbetsmöten, intervjuer, workshops, dokumentanalys och kartering med stöd av RenGIS och forskning om störningszoner. I nutid handlar de största konsekvenserna om påverkan från vägen som drogs i tidigare väglöst land och störningarna på renen från besöksnäringen. Detta har försvårat för renen att finna betesro, inneburit omfattande merarbete och ökade kostnader för samebyn vid samling och flytt, samt medfört stress och oro för samebyns medlemmar liksom även förlust av traditionell kunskap. Renskötseln försvåras även av kvarlämnade borrör och järnskrot från SGU:s provborrningar. Studien visar också hur samebyn exkluderades från beslutsfattandet när Bolidens gruva etablerades på 1970-talet och nu återigen har marginaliserats i samband med tillståndsprövningen för Vilhelmina Minerals planer för återupptagning av brytningen. Dessa forskningsresultat är viktiga för att korrigera en vanlig missuppfattning i den politiska och offentliga debatten kring gruvindustrin: att gruvindustri och renskötsel skulle kunna samexistera utan någon större påverkan på renskötseln. De bidrar också till en ökad förståelse för den omfattande påverkan som ett gruvprojekt, samt dess följdeffekter, kan ha på en grannsameby trots det att själva gruvområdet ligger utanför samebygränsen. I ett vidare perspektiv bidrar studien med ytterligare ett empiriskt baserat exempel på hur gruvbolag och stat marginaliserar samisk kunskap och missbrukar samebyars deltagande i miljöbedömningar. Dessa problem härrör främst från det faktum att svensk lagstiftning inte ger tillräckligt skydd för samiska rättigheter. Det hänger även ihop med statens tvetydiga roll i hanteringen av de intressekonflikter som uppstår när man både har en skyldighet att skydda samiska rättigheter och ska tillgodose olika samhälls- och företagsekonomiska intressen i utvinningen av mineraler. Vad denna studie främst belyser är dock behovet av en mer genomgripande strategi från statens sida för att komma till rätta med konsekvenserna av Bolidens gruvprojekt och dess följdeffekter. Utifrån senaste årens rättsutveckling torde det numera finnas goda möjligheter för staten att se över sitt ansvar för de skador som framkommit i Stihkeområdet.
