Abstract:

Silicon carbide (SiC) static induction transistors (SITs) were fabricated using home-grown epi structures. The gate is a recessed gate - bottom contact (RG - B). The mesa space designed is 2.5 μm and the gate channel is 1.0 μm. The developed devices adopted a p-type Al ion implanted gate and power performance was improved by decreased leakage current and enhanced break-down voltage. The lift-off with assistant dielectric, dense gate recess etching, high temperature anneals and PECVD passivation process technologies are adopted. One cell has 200 source fingers and each source finger width is 50 μm. 0.5 mm SiC SIT yield a current density of 110 mA/mm at a drain voltage of 50 V. A maximum current density of 160 mA/mm was achieved with Vd = 80V, and the maximum transconductance is 40mS/mm. The device blocking voltage with a gate bias of-12 V was 400 V. Packaged 2 × 2-cm devices were evaluated using amplifier circuits designed for class AB operations. A total power output in excess of 70 W was obtained with a power density of 17.5 W/cm and gain of 5.5 dB at L band 1 GHz under pulse 100μs and cycle ratio 1% RF operation and 80V drain to source voltage.

Abstract:

Die Pollinosis ist häufig und betrifft bis zu 20% der Bevölkerung. Die Abklärung basiert auf Anamnese, Hauttests und/oder Bestimmung von spezifischem IgE im Serum gegen die entsprechenden Allergene. Zur Behandlung können Allergenkarenz, wirksame und verträgliche Medikamente sowie die kausale allergen-spezifische Immuntherapie (SIT) eingesetzt werden. Der Erfolg der SIT hängt wesentlich von der richtigen Selektion des Patienten, der präzisen Extraktzusammensetzung, dem geeigneten Therapieschema und der Führung des Patienten ab. Der Artikel gibt eine aktuelle Übersicht über Wirksamkeit, Verträglichkeit, Indikationen und Kontraindikationen der subkutanen (SCIT) und sublingualen Immuntherapie (SLIT). Verbesserte Verfahren lassen zudem in naher Zukunft auch eine Effizienzsteigerung bei weniger zeitaufwändigen Applikationsschemata für die SIT erwarten.

Allergische Erkrankungen der Atemwege sind häufig in der täglichen Praxis und betreffen bis zu 25% der Bevölkerung. Die Abklärung basiert auf einer eingehenden Anamnese, Hauttests und/oder Bestimmung von spezifischem IgE im Serum gegen die entsprechenden Allergene. Zur Behandlung können größtmögliche Allergenkarenz, eine zunehmend wirksamere und besser verträgliche medikamentöse Therapie sowie die allergen-spezifischen Immuntherapie (SIT) als einzige Therapie mit kausalem Ansatz eingesetzt werden. Der Erfolg der SIT hängt wesentlich ab von der richtigen Selektion des Patienten, der Wahl des Extraktes mit dem für den Patienten relevanten Allergenen, dem geeigneten Therapieschema und der Führung des Patienten. Durch die komponenten-basierte Bestimmung von IgE gegen Einzelallergene eröffnen sich neue Perspektiven in der In-Vitro-Allergiediagnostik. Verbesserte Verfahren und moderne molekularbiolgische Methoden lassen zudem in naher Zukunft auch eine Effizienzsteigerung bei weniger zeitaufwändige Applikationsschemata für die SIT erwarten.

Abstract:

Pollen sind die häufigsten Auslöser von Atemwegsallergien und betreffen annährend 20 % der Bevölkerung. Dabei sind hierzulande vor allem Baumpollen, Gräserpollen sowie einzelne Kräuterpollen als Allergene relevant. Die Abklärung basiert auf einer eingehenden Anamnese, Hauttests und/oder Bestimmung von spezifischem IgE gegen die entsprechenden Allergene. Durch die differenzierte Bestimmung von IgE gegen molekulare Einzelallergene eröffnen sich neue Perspektiven in der In-Vitro-Allergiediagnostik, die wesentlich zu einem besseren Verständnis etwa von Kreuzreaktivitätsphänomen wie auch der spezifische Immuntherapie beitragen. Die Behandlung der Pollenallergie basiert auf der größtmöglichen Allergenkarenz, der zunehmend wirksameren und nebenwirkungsärmeren medikamentösen Therapie sowie der allergen-spezifischen Immuntherapie (SIT) als einziger kausaler Therapie mit Ansprechraten bei bis zu 80 % der Patienten. Die SIT mit Pollenextrakten ist besonders bei mittlerer bis schwerer allergischer Rhinitis und leichteren bis mittlerem Schweregrad des allergischen Asthma sinnvoll. Auch bei Allergien auf Hausstaubmilben kann die SIT eine effiziente Behandlung darstellen. Für Allergien auf Tierepithelien und Schimmelpilzsporen ist die Datenlage dürftig; hier ist die SIT nur in Ausnahmefällen indiziert. Mit der subkutaner IT für ganzjährige Anwendungen wie auch Kurzzeitschemata mit Allergoiden und der sublingualen IT stehen verschiedene erprobte und gut dokumentierte Applikationsarten zur Verfügung. Der Erfolg einer SIT schließlich hängt ab von der richtigen Selektion des Patienten, der Wahl des Extraktes und geeigneten Therapieschemas und auch wesentlich von der Führung und Compliance des Patienten.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to compare electromyographic (EMG) activity of the abdominal muscles between the crunch exercise and five other popular abdominal exercises. Surface EMG recordings of four muscles (upper rectus, lower rectus, external oblique, and internal oblique) of the anterior abdominal wall were collected and analyzed on 20 healthy, male volunteers. EMG activity was recorded during execution of the abdominal crunch, the sit-up, and exercises performed with the Abflex machine, the AbRoller, the Nordic Track Ab Works, and the Nautilus crunch machine. The results indicate that the crunch exercise is comparable to the five other abdominal exercises with respect to muscle activation of the internal and external abdominal oblique muscles. Activation of the upper rectus abdominal muscles appears to be best achieved with the Abflex machine, whereas the crunch exercise is superior to the sit-up for activation of the upper and lower rectus abdominal muscles.

Abstract:

The World Trade Organization's (WTO's) dispute settlement system is facing “unprecedented challenges,” with the current U.S. government waging a “stealth war” on the Organization's Appellate Body (AB). The tactics of this war include procedural objections to the (re)appointment of AB members—those individuals selected to sit in Geneva and rule on trade disputes. Countries have blocked appointments in the past, but the Trump administration's strategy to effectively shut down the AB's ability to hear disputes—by bringing the number of sitting judges below the required three to hear a dispute—represents a new development. In short, the trade regime is dying a slow, piecemeal death, with American challenges “killing the WTO from the inside.” Yet the sources of this crisis are not new. The organization's judges and bureaucracy have deftly managed simmering discontent for nearly two decades, but we have now reached a boiling point. In this contribution, I first describe the sources of the current impasse before discussing how the WTO's adjudicative bodies have sought to address government dissatisfaction in the past and the implications of such judicial responsiveness for reform of the system moving forward.

Abstract:

Introduction: The health-related physical fitness (HRPF) show an inverse association with several cardiovascular risk factors in young people, however, a few studies have investigate the changes of HRF indicators throughout a determined period. Objective: To check the secular trend of HRPF indicators in children of seven to 10 years old. Methods: were analyzed 1.136 subjects with seven to 10 years in three-time period (2002, 2005, 2010-2011). The HRPF tests were: sit-and-reach (SR), abdominal resistance (AB), 9 min walk/run test (9min) and the body adiposity by skinfold sum (?SF). The classification of the HRPF indicators were made by the Physical Best cut off point. The ANCOVA test (controlled by BMI, height, ?SF) compared the difference of the HRPF indicators amongst the three-time period. Results: The boys presented 6% of decrease in the flexibility between 2010 and 2002 period; no significance was found in the AB test; children of both sexes presented higher values in the 9min test on 2005 period. Conclusion: It was concluded that there was a negative secular trend for an HRPF, and gifts were the results in 2010 were compared as their peers (2002-2005) to an HRPF group, in both sexes, except for abdominal strength and endurance.

Abstract:

Abstract Background and Purpose. Performing nontraditional abdominal exercises with devices such as abdominal straps, the Power Wheel, and the Ab Revolutionizer has been suggested as a way to activate abdominal and extraneous (nonabdominal) musculature as effectively as more traditional abdominal exercises, such as the crunch and bent-knee sit-up. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of traditional and nontraditional abdominal exercises in activating abdominal and extraneous musculature. Subjects. Twenty-one men and women who were healthy and between 23 and 43 years of age were recruited for this study. Methods. Surface electromyography (EMG) was used to assess muscle activity from the upper and lower rectus abdominis, external and internal oblique, rectus femoris, latissimus dorsi, and lumbar paraspinal muscles while each exercise was performed. The EMG data were normalized to maximum voluntary muscle contractions. Differences in muscle activity were assessed by a 1-way, repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results. Upper and lower rectus abdominis, internal oblique, and latissimus dorsi muscle EMG activity were highest for the Power Wheel (pike, knee-up, and roll-out), hanging knee-up with straps, and reverse crunch inclined 30 degrees. External oblique muscle EMG activity was highest for the Power Wheel (pike, knee-up, and roll-out) and hanging knee-up with straps. Rectus femoris muscle EMG activity was highest for the Power Wheel (pike and knee-up), reverse crunch inclined 30 degrees, and bent-knee sit-up. Lumbar paraspinal muscle EMG activity was low and similar among exercises. Discussion and Conclusion. The Power Wheel (pike, knee-up, and roll-out), hanging knee-up with straps, and reverse crunch inclined 30 degrees not only were the most effective exercises in activating abdominal musculature but also were the most effective in activating extraneous musculature. The relatively high rectus femoris muscle activity obtained with the Power Wheel (pike and knee-up), reverse crunch inclined 30 degrees, and bent-knee sit-up may be problematic for some people with low back problems.

Abstract:

Hybrid nanostructures of size-selected nanoparticles (NPs) and 2D materials exhibit striking physical and chemical properties and are attractive for many technology applications. A major issue for the performance of these applications is device stability. In this work, we investigate the bonding of cuboctahedral, decahedral and icosahedral Au NPs comprising 561 atoms on graphene sheets via 103-atom scale ab initio spin-polarized calculations. Two distinct cases we considered: (i) the Au NPs sit with their (111) facets on graphene and (ii) the NPs are oriented with a vertex on graphene. In both cases, we compare the binding energies with and without a graphene vacancy under the NP. We find that in all cases, the presence of the graphene vacancy enhances the bonding of the NPs. Significantly, in the vertex-on-graphene case, the binding energy is considerably increased by several eVs and becomes similar to the (111) facet-on-graphene case. The strain in the NPs is found to be minimal and the displacement of the carbon atoms in the immediate neighborhood of the vacancy is on the 0.1 Å scale. The work suggests the creation of stable NP-graphene systems for a variety of electronic, chemical and photonic applications.

Abstract:

Ionic hydrates are known to form numerous clathrate structures in which either the cations or anions sit in cages and the counterions are incorporated into the water framework. Due to the inclusion of the ionic species, such ionic clathrate hydrates not only show many peculiar features such as metal ion encagement and superoxide ion generation, but also exhibit notable physicochemical properties such as outstanding ionic conductivity and thermal stability. Thus, the ionic clathrate hydrates are considered for their potential applicability in various fields, including those that involve solid electrolytes, gas sensors, and energy storage. In this study, we report the design, synthesis, and characterization of the first ionic clathrate hydrate of the hexagonal structure-H (Str.H) crystal type. Diethyl-dimethyl-ammonium hydroxide hydrate was synthesized with CH4 and Xe as help gases, and the crystal structure was identified by powder X-ray diffraction analysis. Further confirmation of the formation of Str.H was obtained from Raman spectroscopy and 13C, 129Xe, and 2H solid-state NMR spectroscopy. From 13C NMR and ab initio calculations, it was shown that the quaternary ion occupies the large cage of Str.H with a conformation different from that in solution, due to constraints imposed by the dimensions of the cage. The H deficiency introduced by substitution of OH– for a water molecule appears, from 129Xe NMR, to be disordered over the framework, and, from 2H NMR, to substantially increase the rate of reorientational mobility of the D atoms in the framework, over that observed for a Str.I hydrate and for ice. The Str.H hydrates are commonly more stable than other structures, thus the present findings on the ionic Str.H clathrate hydrate may offer a new approach for improving the stability of ionic clathrate hydrates for their practical application.

Zaprezentowana w artykule struktura harmoniczna AB=CD dowodzi, że zrealizowane za jej pomocą inwestycje charakteryzują się bardzo wysoką stopą zwrotu przy jednoczesnym zaakceptowaniu ryzyka początkowego. Zgodnie z przedstawioną koncepcją transakcja zostaje zainicjowana w POO (potencjalnym obszarze odwrócenia), obliczonym przy wykorzystaniu podstawowych zniesień Fibonacciego. Należy zaznaczyć, że POO jest wyznaczany na wiele godzin (dni, tygodni, miesięcy – co zależy od użytego interwału czasowego) wcześniej niż zostanie zawarta rzeczywista transakcja. Po przeprowadzeniu takiej projekcji należy złożyć zlecenie kupna (lub krótkiej sprzedaży) z limitem ceny oraz zlecenie stop–loss.W artykule pokazano obliczenia wyznaczające POO, w którym zwykle dochodzi do odwrócenia krótkoterminowego trendu w trakcie korekty. Wprawdzie nie jest to „złoty środek” na osiąganie zysków (ponieważ taki nie istnieje), to jednak posługiwanie się projekcją AB=CD sprawia, że rentowność inwestycji należy uznać za imponującą, co dowiedziono empirycznie i potwierdzono testem weryfikującym hipotezę. Formację harmoniczną AB=CD zaprezentowano na najbardziej płynnym rynku, jakim jest EURUSD.

Wurzel *(s)pehg- postulieren und so eine Grundbedeutung 'anpflocken, festbinden' ansetzen könnte, geht dt. schlachten von 'schlagen' und türk. kesmek 'schlachten' von '(ab) schneiden' aus. Bei den hethi tischen Termini, nämlich huek-mi und hatt-a, hat B. Čop als Benennungsmotiv jeweils '(ab)stechen' wahrscheinlich gemacht. Und zwar verbindet er in plausibler Weise huek-mi 'schlachten' mit ap. a-vaj-am 'ich stach aus' und hatt-a 'schlachten' mit av. avi- 'Verderben'.
