Full textThis research consists in the study of the possibility to analyse some "therapeutical situations" as "didactical situations" within a rehabilitation center for drug addicts. From our datum, based on observations and interviews, we've been able to propose an analogy with some of the elements of the Situation theory in didactic of mathematics elaborated by G. Brousseau. It appears, on first hand, that a "didactical intention" and a "didactical action" are both present. On second hand, within the formal activities proposed by the center, we have come to point out the presence of some didactical phenomena, such as formulation, institutionalization, and a number of games based upon a tacit and institutional contract. In that perspective, the consideration of indexicality in the definition of situations seems unavoidable. The environment, the status, the function, the place of interaction, nor the actors interacting, can alone be sufficient elements to the definition of the situation. They all have to participate in that process of definition that can only be captured through a thick and systemic analysis. Our proposition is to think that for a particular situation to be qualified of therapeutical, didactical, or else, it is necessary to consider it first as indexical

Full textWhat skills do professionals use to face verbal communication tasks with others? And what connections are there between knowledge referring to a professionnal fiel and skills to communicate on things and events belongin to this professionnal fiel? The research presented here fits in with professionnal didactic that can be defined as a process of psychological analysis of the work in order to work out plans or situations of training. The research relies on the theory of knowledge sudied by vergnaud and widely resorts to the logical theory of speech acts and the works on verbal interactions. The analysis of the reception clerk's work in garages relies on an empirical material composed of the transcriptions of 353 registered dialogues corresponding to the activities of 19 subjects. The results show that the reception clerk is at the interface between on one hand the customer and on the other hand the workshop. This entitles a double skills, a technical one and a commercial one learnt on the site. There are relations between the skills those technicians of origine have put together to diagnose, repair and the pragmatic skills they have developped to listent, to question, to understand, to explain and to give arguments. Skills are structured round the use of two conceptuel fields, the one of the workshop, formed by human and technical habilities and restraints the reception clerk has and the other of the customer

Full textOur personal experience of teaching and the learning difficulties of students constitute the departure point for this peice of research. Simple statements in everyday conversation often make use of an additional unspoken set of meanings which remain beyond the grasp of foreigners (adults) ; even when their command of french is good. After a preliminary enquiry, we carried out a comparative study on two groups of foreign students of french - well advanced and advanced levels - against a french control group. Our initial objective was not to understand the how or why but to detect what the foreigner fails to comprehend. The corpus obtained shows an incomplete perception of the conventional signs allowing the choice of behavioural strategies, which, in dialogue, are converted into the appropriate verbal symbols. The identification of these strategies is necessary for the acquisition of the appropriate verbal symbols and the recognition of conventional signals. These findings lead to our main hypothesis. Linguistic apprenticeship is dependant on the relationship with the interlocutor (french) and not entirely on scholarly attainement. If there is an association, it is obviously dual : the relationship between native french and foreigner is all-pervasive and varied whereas, in contrast, between teacher and pupil it is specific and limited. We have therefore tried to describe and define the experience of foreigners in france and to determine what the french language and its apprenticeship implies. Thus we arrive at the idea the learning process profoundly transforms the forei- gner who thereby comes to understand better french society ; from which arises the question of the basis of the teacher-pupil interaction - what can be actually proposed ? inspired by the "tetrahedra" of morin, we have placed our reflexion against a background of dynamic "tetrahedral" systems within the context of "active-research" in french as a foreign language

Full textSince 2008, French school-teachers have to face a new professional situation called « aide personnalisée » in order to help pupils in difficulties. This research aims at describing and understanding which resources are used and built by teachers in those new situations. How do they use words to make clear problematic knowledge or skills? How do they interview pupils to make them explain their thought processes? The importance of words makes us use pragmatic analysis (Austin, 1970 ; Searle, 1972 ; Moeschler J. & Reboul, A. , 1998 ; Kerbrat-Orecchioni, 2005) to complete the framework of professional didactic (Pastré, Mayen, Vergnaud, 2006), which is found on psychology of development (Vygotski, 1934), ergonomic studies, field observations, analysis of practices, and interviews based on traces of work. We have filmed five school teachers with pupils aged between eight and ten. We have written each word pronounced by teachers and pupils. Then, we have interviewed these teachers about their own words and actions we could see on each filmed class. We have made a classification of didactic functions based on teachers’ aims we have gathered. We have progressively described twenty didactic functions and the professional resources that make up their skills. We wanted to approach closely the professional reality of school teachers when they talk to pupils in difficulties to help them. All these professional pragmatic skills build a kind of “explicit pedagogy”

Full textIn a zep (zone d'education prioritoire, area with governmental priority given to its special educational needs), the learners' success seems to depend on their language fluency : that latter will entail their learning steps, their identity elaboration and their social and school integration. This ph. D. Aims at deciphering the field of a didactics of oral skills, pondering on its basis. How can competencies such as the means to a successful school integration and the various learning steps that derive from it, be developed in middle-school students ? to answer that question, we deemed it necessary to first observe what the learners know how to do in terms of oral skills, how they picture the act of speaking in their own minds and how they resort to it. On a methodological level, we feel the analysis of semi-guided and guided interviews will emphasize the various components of pre-teenagers' oral language, in a school context. On a pedagogical and didactic level, we make the hypothesis that building and practicing, in a class, a reflexive, interaction-based and transversal oral (way of speaking) will induce the modification of -if not the grounding of our school system, at least some of its ways of functioning. After introducing the sociological, linguistic, pedagogical and didactic framework of our research, we will focus on the representations about the way of speaking, the discursive and textual competencies that derive from the learners' taped words. Our second part studies the interactions at stake during conversations between students or between students and on adult. In our third part, we would like to show how reflexivity, at all levels, is inherent to the language habits that the school institution expects and how this reflexivity could very well facilitate the mastery of various knowledge, methods and abstract thinking. Some guidelines put together in a conclusive part will attempt to draw some consequences from the preceding descriptions. It seems to us that a didactics of oral skills that would not be grounded in the social features of on individual learner is doomed to fail. It would also draw to failure a school that earnestly aims at providing the best opportunities to all learners and thus transform the society

This research aimed to analyze the effects of the Didactic Contract discussed by Guy Brousseau in a mathematics classroom of elementary school in the geometry content. This concept, studied by the researcher, presents the clauses in the teaching relationship, which most often are implied, they regulate the expectations and behavior between teacher and student in relation to know the target. So, initially, we conducted a study of the teaching situations, we discuss the concepts of didactical contract, their transgressions and renegotiations, then we focus our discussion on the Didactic Contract effects and then present characteristics of mathematical knowledge, in our case, circles and circles. For this, we follow our methodology, which was conducting observation of classes, when we follow the approach of a math teacher with their students on the knowledge at stake. We analyzed the data collected by checking the existence of effects of the didactical contract. Through our theoretical foundation and the data collected during the research, we find results that indicate the need for reflection on the relations established in the Didactic Agreement and its effects in the classroom. We note also that its prevalence remained to situations involving geometry. We identify elements that show us the emergence of effects from compliance with the rules of behavior governed by the Didactic Contract.

Full textThis thesis, devoted to the teaching and learning of FFL in higher education in Libya, is part of an exploratory and reflective process. The initial field study designed to describe and comprehend the nature of the context, was undertaken in 2013-2014 at Azzaytuna University in Libya. The actors involved include 5 teachers and 14 students of FFL. A political upheaval and the advent of war made it impossible to return to the field. The research was however pursued, with the help of digital tools such as Face Boo,k which enabled the researcher to maintain contract with the phonetics teacher and with the students of the initial group. A complementary needs study was carried out in 2014-2015 by questionnaire made available on-line. The anlayses brought to light several didactic and psychological determining factors. Learner expectations, needs, and difficulties, particularly regarding pronunciation difficulties provided material for reflection on the conception of didactic activities. In the emergency didactic situation, the intervention – at the initiative of the researcher herself - produced a set of pedagogical activities – in the form of videos dealing with specific prononciation difficulties recorded and digitalised on-line – aimed at improving Libyen students’ pronunciation in an aloglot context. The collaboration of the phonetics teacher enabled experimentation of the material in class as well as the videos being made available to all students on You Tube and Face Book. In order to test the efficacy of the material, two distinct methods were used: pre and post -tests were administered before and after the training session and the results sent to the researcher by Viber on the one hand, and on the other, the students’ pronunciation was assessed by Frech-speaking teachers. The results of the analyses and of their assessments show that the material and activities enhanced their pronunciation and contributed to their progress

The introduction of process teaching and learning based on competences is the core of reforming projects required by the schools to adapt to the contemporary needs. The approach by competence accentuate the skills of student to practice whatever he learned at the school in his everyday life. The essential objectif of this study is to analyze the effect of the introduction of the approach by competence on the Lebanese educatif system and the possibility to adapt this approach in the Lebanese public schools. Thus, to achieve our goal, a Curriculum based on the approach by competence compatible with the Lebanese conditions of teaching been established

But these practices, often qualified as "spontaneous", are difficult to understand in their modes of implemted reasoning. The purpose of this research is to answer the following question : is tutoring, in work situation, an organized activity ? The interactions filmed between tutors and their apprentice, in real situation, offer protocols for a research situated in an analysis reference framework of professional didactic. The first results concern the "configurations" used as basis for the transformation of competences. The second part concerns the outstanding characteristics of the tutoral shoring. The results clarify several aspects of the enigmatic part of training in alternation : apprenticeship in workplace

Full textThis thesis of didactic of the French Foreign Language analyses the role of the lexicon in the interaction with migrant adults en a professional environment. This context reveals that the lexicon holds a central place in the procedures of teaching and training. Their description requires a model of analysis of the word's relationships with its indications present in the didactic situation. Analysis of the indication, "process from witch an uncertainty starting from an indication is dissipated", such as Prieto (1964 sq. ) proposed, is integrated into advanced research on pragmatic and agrees with the Bange's model of pragmalinguistic (1982), witch it even supplements by the concept of universe of speech, returning its coherence an autonomy on the discursive level of data analysis. This integrates model is put to the test on a corpus collected during a training. The conclusion presents the prospects for didactic treatment of the lexicon

Full textThe secondary school leaving certificate in Science and Technology: Design and Applied Arts prepares pupils to integrate postsecondary design programmes. The purpose of this study was to investigate how design activity is taught in secondary school. In an attempt to highlight the impact of the environment on the learning activity, the theoretical framework questions the relationship between activity, instrument, environment, task and skills, design activity. The study favoured an exploratory analysis based on the observation of real situations in an unambiguous and operational way. The scope of the study was limited to the certification exam “Project in D and AA”. The research design was empirical and based on (1) a priori analysis of the task prescribed by the institution and redefined by teachers belonging to three different high schools, and (2) an analysis of the activity of a sample of their pupils. Observation tools were based on the abstention from direct observation. The activities were viewed: through interviews conducted with teachers; through interviews conducted with pupils on the tasks they have actually accomplished; through the signs produced by teachers and pupils. The results show that the learning activity is instrumented to a greater extent by the different representations teachers have of the prescribed reference situation than by their representation of a prescribed state of design skills. In addition, although the pupil’s activity was motivated by the obtention of a school leaving certificate and not by the design of artefacts, the pupil develops semiotic and material instruments specific to the activity of students who train to become designers

The reflectionproposed is located in the field of didactics and explores how the mode of operation of the Flipped Classroom influences the teaching and learning of different school subjects at the secondary school level. Thus, the notions of space-time, didactic situation, educational tool and didactic contract are mobilized as a theoretical framework. Data was constructed by combining the technique of semi-structured interview, survey and direct observation. In effect, this research highlights the following points: (i) the flipped classroom weighs on the content taught since it promotes new content (ii) the flipped classroom modifies the pedagogical relationship (iii) the flipped classroom makes it possible to diversify the forms of assessment according to the delimited learning space (auxiliary space and class space) (iv) the flipped classroom is adaptable to different school disciplines taking into account first and foremost the specificities or the functional nature of these school disciplines

The results show the importance of socialization of young novice through his verbal interaction with the trainer who is expert with social situations. As discussed by Vygotsky, interaction is considered "Social Situation of Development" who aims to ensure that young people learn the situations through their reinterpretation by the trainer. This work leads to the transformation of young people’s cognitive and operational activities necessary for controlling situations and to the appropriate adoption of rules that govern the physical, social and cultural spaces, with people outside the usual social environment of young people

For the study of learning situations in which the problem is the essence, we develop a new historical approach and we rethink the tools for didactic analyzes. We propose, then, for a particular problem, exploration of Archimedean tilings of the plane, a historical inquiry centered on the activity of the scientist in the process of research and on the influence of the relationship with objects. From this perspective, the study of Johannes Kepler’s work in search of a world harmony is particularly instructive. We also propose, for the analysis of the emerging knowledge in teaching situations, to use tools related to semiotics, which allows to highlight the dynamic of evolution of mathematical objects. We can finally conclude on the opportunity to build and implement “Didactic Situations of Problem Solving”, which ensure the commitment of the subject in the research, the emergence and development of mathematical objects, the genesis of knowledges. The study reinforces the necessity of a pragmatic approach of situations and the relevance of a different look at the knowledge at school

Full textMany elementary school teachers are engaged, for teaching of mathematics at Cycle2, in an Collaborative type Engineerie named "ACE", whose design is inspired by the TACD, Theory of Joint Action in didactic. This thesis seeks to answer the question of why some pupils are considered as failing or struggling , while their teachers work in this engineering, ACE, designed precisely by researchers to promote pupil's success. The corpus of the data, constituted with reports of lessons observed in classrooms, by shared observations, conversations with teachers, or with pupils indicated as meeting difficulties, serves an clinical type analysis which focuses on the nature of the knowledge really learnt within the framework of the relation teaching / learning. This analysis highlights a certain number of phenomena that, when they occur, unbalance the relationship between the didactic contract and the environment, and are thus likely to induce educational inequalities and hinder the progression of learning. The presence of errors then appears as a strong indicator of the situation in which the pupil "failling", "held in check".By identifying the source of these errors, analyzing them and treating them, the teacher places the student at the origin of his action, and can intervene very quickly in order to relaunch the didactic contract.By thus ensuring the peculiar progress of each student on the path of knowledge, he optimizes the advance of didactic time, and also preserves the plural progress of all students in the class

Full textThe purpose of this exploratory work, grounded on an emerging professional pedagogy of design, is to understand the impact of work-linked training in design on the learning of the design activity by students. To that end, the knowledge involved is extracted, juxtaposed with the representations that the requirement offers, and then set against the representations that students build of design activity as a social object as well as those involved in learning activities. Therefore, the theoretical field which is used is multidisciplinary. It induces a dialectical methodologic framework based both on a curricular analysis, necessary to understand the observed teaching situations, and on an analysis of the students’ activities. The outcomes shed light on these (sometimes conflicting) representations of creative design activity and of the designer’s profession. Outcomes also show the alternating times and places of learning situations reveal to the students the specificity of both designing situation. Thus, the “organizing environments” of the real curriculum and untaught within the required one, modify and regulate the system of interactions and the development of the students’ design skills. Moreover, the exchange device induces a timeline and “enabling” working and learning environments. Finally, the production of knowledge, required by the curriculum through the “research thesis”, allows the “apprentices-designers-researchers” to develop forms of expertise that question the interactions between knowledge to act and meta-knowledge to design and seems to redefine the representation of the design skill

Full textThis study has its roots in the current upsurge in student mobility and in the scientific debates about the concepts of identity and intercultural communication. Based on a corpus of interviews with French Erasmus students in Finland, the study blends in theories of postmodern identity, intercultural hermeneutics and discourse analysis to examine how the students construct themselves and diverse ‘othernesses’ (included theirs) when they talk about their experiences. The use of the French pronoun on, pronoun switches, and virtual voices (ex: I said to myself. . . ) allowed to pinpoint the students’unstable identity metamorphoses in their discourses: integration of liquid and solid selves, infidelity in identification with the French but also with Erasmus ‘tribes’, and games of identity. Though the exchange experience appears as interesting for the students, the results show that many and varied misconceptions about identity, culture, intercultural communication, language use, and strangeness lead the students to evaluate their experiences negatively. The implication of the study is that students should be prepared for their time abroad, not so much in terms of ‘grammars of culture’ (e. G. ‘Finns behave in such and such ways’, ‘the French are. . . ’), but through the development of competences to analyse the identity metamorphoses that take place in intercultural encounters and prevent people from meeting each other as diverse individuals. This could make study abroad one of the best training periods for postmodernity and globalization

Full textIn the socio-economic context of the beginning of the 21st century, education remains a major societal issue. In this regard, the matter of teacher training, and more specifically that of supporting novices as they go into the profession, seems central. Here, we approach it from the perspective of a qualitative investigation aiming to understand the extent to which the current system of educational advice contributes to the professional development of novice primary school teachers. More specifically, within the conceptual framework of professional didactics, we study the progress of the conclusions drawn in the course of a counselling interview, from the moment they are drawn until the time they are potentially transformed into professional skills. Using references from the theories of interactionist analysis of speech and cognitive activities of reasoning and problematizing, this research examines longitudinally the way support is provided in three novice teacher – educational adviser dyads over the course of a school year. Within the boundaries of our corpus, it leads to the uncovering of results about : 1) the nature of the conclusions drawn during the course of the counselling interviews ; 2) the processes and difficulties that lead up to the drawing of the conclusions ; 3) the evolution of the conclusions formulated in the following interviews ; 4) the consequences of the system of educational advice on the professional development of novices ; 5) the minimal conditions necessary for the support to be a potential situation of professional development

Full textCurrently, in organisations, much attention is given to workplace learning and more specifically, intentional, structured and organised learning on the job. Indeed, this kind of training seems to be more efficient and less expensive than off-the-job training. In our research, we study a specific workplace curriculum which has been developed by Entreprise & Personnel association. The aim of our research is to examine the efficacy of this curriculum. Our theoretical framework draws together the work of Billett (1995, 1996, 2001, 2006) one of leader scholars of the field of Workplace Learning and Pastré (1999, 2005, 2011), one of the key researchers of the francophone field vocational didactic. It allows us to formulate 2 hypothesis:- the curriculum facilitates learnings and in particular scheme transformation process;- this curriculum facilitates learning because it affords opportunities that engage the learner. The data gathering procedures was conducted in the French power distribution company ERDF. They include interviews and observations of 21 technicians. Our findings show that hypothesis n°1 is confirmed for all the participants, and hypothesis n°2 for most of them. Our research invites researchers to examine the efficacy of curriculum in terms of scheme transformation process, workplace opportunities and individual engagement. Our findings confirm the interest of workplace curriculum. At the same time, it invites professionals to think critically of reflexivity and learning transfer questions. Our research was conducted under a partnership between Paris Ouest University and ERDF. Lecefel, Pierre. "Le vécu subjectif des apprentis en situation professionnelle comme ressource en apprentissage." Thesis, Antilles, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019ANTI0426/document.
Full textIn this thesis, the hypothesis that a system of professional practice analysis based on the explanation interview has an impact on the self-efficacy of apprenticeship training centre (ATC) trainers and their apprentices is put forward. Here, the idea is that mastery modelling, defined by Bandura (1986) as the process of acquiring behaviour through the observation of a model, is done through the verbalization by an apprentice of moments lived in a company. On this occasion, his peers, who attend the interview, can transfer skills from work situations through "exposure to real or symbolic models that demonstrate useful skills and strategies[that] increase subjects' belief in their own abilities" (Bandura, 1982; Schunk, 1987, cited by Bandura, 2007, p. 144). This approach is part of a desire to enhance the after-the-fact analysis of the activity (Pastré, 2011) in the training of apprentices in order to develop their intelligence at work. Here, the scientific challenge is therefore to document the impact of a training modality, which uses the action implemented and then explained afterwards, on the development of the actors of an ATC. During a school year, an experimental group, composed of 32 apprentices, follows a training modality with professionalization workshops (Faingold, 2014), while another control group, composed of 37 apprentices, is subjected to a usual training modality, i.e. without professionalization workshops. The self-efficacy scores of both groups are measured in pre-test and post-test using the Lecefel, Ramassamy and Troadec (submitted) Apprenticeship Self-Efficacy Scale, and then an Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is performed to compare the variance of the mean scores of these groups after the intervention. This quasi-experimental design shows statistically significant results regarding the proposed training modality. Thus, self-efficacy of both groups varies between pre-test and post-test. Indeed, the experimental group's rate of progress is increasing while the control group's rate is decreasing. The mixed ANOVA applied to the variance of the mean scores confirms a significant interaction effect, F(1.67)= 7.99; p =.006 and an average effect size of the professionalization workshops (Faingold, 2014) on the self-efficacy of apprentices d =.53 (Cohen, 1988)

This essay highlights the environmental and institutional factors which hinder Chinese students' adaptation, and propose some (didactic) answers to improve mobility conditions for these students and to suit the way of teaching French language and culture to a Chinese audience. Our research gives a new dimension to the language learner and to the teacher by considering them as social actors. It emphasizes the notion of "profile" and draw attention to a specific formation essential for the teachers of this special student community

Full textThe university growth in the number of disabled students (2005-103 law), and is facing the complex challenge of inclusion (2013-595 law). The law on equal opportunities and rights made it compulsory admission, and the law school and refounding the Republic requires the establishment of inclusive university. We question the issue of inclusion of students with disabilities in both the socialization aspect of the anthropological approach in the aspect of the production-transmission of academic knowledge and their accessibilisation by the didactic approach. The inventory of the issue is in a critical historical analysis of texts and institutions, in order to realize the conceptual evolution of the concepts according to their origin. We analyze and critique of official documents and institutional positioning. Building on scientific research we return to our account some conceptual elements (liminality, stigmata, rites of interaction, rites of institution) to continue the anthropological approach to disability. Didactics of joint action that we present seems quickly respond to relational needs inclusion in the academic higher education. Our thesis adopts a clinical and collaborative approach, giving pride of place to actors, students with disabilities or not, and teachers. We listen to three students with disabilities, three regular students (all Bachelor, two of Sociology and Anthropology) and two teachers (one experienced, the other rookie). These clinical interviews collected at Rogerian method of active listening give rise to a set of corpus analyzed in the thesis and delivered in full in appendices to serve as empirical contributions to scientific research. We urge cross approach, anthropological and didactic, description and video analysis filmed TD sociology and cross analysis of experienced teachers. What about the relationship and the production-transmission of knowledge in tutorials, with and for students with disabilities at the University today? If the clinical lighting does not allow us to report comprehensively on developments of the current reality, at least it allows us better to ask some questions in the light of societal and anthropological issues of inclusion of cognitive socialization university

Full textThis thesis is proposed to study the specialized teaching practices for student’ mental disabilities in Tunisia. We proceed by a comparative study of specialized teachers cases in an attempt to articulate some concepts of disciplinary didactics and a psychoanalytic Clinical Orientation. The resort to an intersection of a methodology of Cooperative Didactic Engineering with the Clinical Didactic Methodology at three stages (“Déjà-là”, l’épreuve,“après-coup”), have allowed us to create analysis conditions intra-site and inter-site in order to appreciate, in detail, the pro, inter and retro interactive decisions linked to the relationship undertaken by the teacher towards the handicap, the adapted physical activity and the institution. Their didactic activities have been described through the audio-video recording of gymnastics sessions (which are a support for our research) and the data of interview (preliminary of the “déjà-là”, ante and post sessions, «après coup”). The obtained results enhance the influence of the already mentioned relationships on didactic and pedagogical choices of observed teachers. This research confirms the assumption that the « déjà-là » of the teachers submitted to the research as the ‘’hidden side of the decisional process, provides potential motives and drives for the professional activity » (Carnus, 2001)
Domanchin, Morgane. "Pratiques écraniques en situation de télécollaboration pour l'enseignement-apprentissage du FLE." Thesis, Lyon, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020LYSE2045.
Full textGrounded in foreign language pedagogy, this thesis is based on Cultura, a semester-long Franco-American project which connected 24 teacher trainees from the University of Lyon with 16 French learners from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In the context of this telecollaboration project, the forum discussions were enriched by three videoconferencing sessions on Google Hangouts. Based on these, our work focuses on screen-based practices, which refer to human-computer interactions in their entirety. Using dynamic screen recordings, we examine the participants’ technical autonomy during pedagogical conversation. Our study analyzes screen-based practices which—depending on the subject(s) and the situation—are embodied in autonomous or collaborative behaviors. Through transcription of the participants’ online navigation and pedagogical interactions, our methodological framework combines ecological, interactionist and multimodal approaches. Presented as video clips, the qualitative results initially show the collaborative behaviors of 3 pairs of teacher trainees facing a technical breakdown. Their technical autonomy is co-constructed both on and off the screen. In the following section, the study of 3 learners’ autonomous behavior reveals their communicative intentions as well as their search for information, illustrating new learning practices. Finally, our results offer teaching guidelines on the flexibility of videosynchronous environments and their effects on the pedagogical relationship with the learner

Full textUnderstanding the social representation of a scientific concept may be useful to the teaching and learning of it. The central question of this dissertation, that belongs to the didactic of the Sciences, is the social representation of the atom in French and Greek middle and high school students. Simultaneously, the didactic transposition of this concept in the general scientific education of these two countries is studied, from 1945 up to today. Our theoretical foundation with regard to social representations, is comprised of the theory of didactic situations, the anthropological theory of didactic, and the theory of the central core. We have collected, processed and combined data comprised of student interviews, drawings and answers to questionnaires to study the social representations. Furhermore, we have designed a technique of didactic analysis of Physics and Chemistry high school textbooks. The obtained results were compared with those of textual analysis using the Alceste software. The comparison of the representation systems revealed both similarities and differences, due to peculiarities in the didactic transposition, in the two educational systems. In both systems, it is the planetary model of the atom and the notion of the atomic nucleus that occupy the central core of the representation, while the notions of the electron and the proton are placed in the near periphery. On the other, the nuclear dimension of the atom is very important to the French, while to the Greeks it is elements related to the modelling of the atom that dominate. In conclusion, teaching may be hindered by the activation of a representation process giving rise to systems of representation

Full textOur research summarizes the consecutive attempts to transform the teaching of French from an official language to a secondary then a foreign language. The process of arabisation (teaching in Arabic language) , that halted the partial bilingualism, at least at the official level, to a less extend, has assigned to French the status of a foreign language, in contradiction with the role of a language that vehicles science and technology, that was the preferred one for Algerians immediately after the independence.French was in the midst of ambivalence, between rejections as a heritage of the colonial time and attractiveness as a mean to openness and economic development. The ideological and political interests to assign to French a status of a foreign language has immediately created a confusion as for the goals, the contents, the support and the relevant practices in the teaching/apprenticeship of French foreign language.Could French, in these conditions, be the subject of a legitimate education, credible and motivating? The amalgam and the abusive usage of certain didactic notions related to the communicative approach, in contradiction with existing practices, through the analysis of teaching manuals and orientation literature, have led us to revisit these concepts though the history of education and its evolution. Therefore, we have shifted from a linguistic problematic (Status of a language), to a didactic problematic (status of the subject French foreign language), in order to setup a reliable didactic system of French foreign language, coherent and stable, hence the title of our theses “The teaching of French in Algeria: from a linguistic situation to the status quarrels”

Full textThe function of conceptualisation is to identify operatory characteristics. In the case of didactic situations of mathematical tasks managing, the systems of constraints that determine the efficacy of conduct are multiple. We elaborate a modelisation indicating how the conduct that is invested by pupils relies on a conceptual activity that is simultaneously distributed toward two classes of constraints : the intrinsic characteristics of the task (endogen conceptualisation) and the contractual issues being implied by the task (contractual conceptualisation). We infer (fifth level) pupils' endogen and contractual conceptualisations and match into conceptual continuums those that are compatible. Then, we test our modilisation's prediction : the conceptual continuums that simultaneously satisfy a maximum of endogen and contractual constraints are the only ones to be mobilised by a significant number of pupils
