We introduce the virtual magnetic Kauffman bracket skein module, and show how to find a skein relation for the f-polynomial through the module. Furthermore, we give a unified approach to constructions of skein relations which hold under certain conditions.

Given any oriented link diagram, one can construct knot invariants using skein relations. Usually such a skein relation contains three or four terms. In this paper, the author introduces several new ways to smooth a crossings, and uses a system of skein equations to construct link invariants. This invariant can also be modified by writhe to get a more powerful invariant. The modified invariant is a generalization of both the HOMFLYPT polynomial and the two-variable Kauffman polynomial. Using the diamond lemma, a simplified version of the modified invariant is given. It is easy to compute and i

We study new skein invariants of links based on a procedure where we first apply a given skein relation only to crossings of distinct components, so as to produce collections of unlinked knots. We then evaluate the resulting knots using the given invariant. A skein invariant can be computed on each link solely by the use of skein relations and a set of initial conditions. The new procedure, remarkably, leads to generalizations of the known skein invariants. We make skein invariants of classical links, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], based on the invariants of

We give necessary conditions for trivial links to be linearly independent in the module. In this paper, we list in explicit form the factoring relations of the Kauffman bracket skein module (KBSM for short) of a twist knot exterior. This is done using curves decorated by characters of irreducible SL(2, ℂ)-representations. In the process, we exhibit a relation which holds in the KBSM of the knot exterior, called the minimal relation. In the final section we prove that, when specializing the variable of the Kauffman bracket at t = -1, the minimal relation becomes the defining polynomial of the SL(2, ℂ)-character variety of the twist knot.
