Abstract:

Abstract:
A major problem in the introduction of technological change is that a basically beneficial technology can be rejected, or rendered less effective, because workers perceive it as being counter to their interests. This article outlines the fluctuation in workers' attitudes towards the introduction of a technological innovation on a gold mine. Utilizing data obtained from three separate investigations conducted over a two-year period, a tentative, empirically based, dynamic model of technological change is generated. The model suggests that certain pre-emptive steps can be taken by management to maximize the chances of success in the implementation of technical innovations.

Abstract:
The article attempts to summarize the information on the Old Believer sketes, monasteries, and almshouses of the Novgorod gubernia in the second half of the 18th – 19th century. It strives to highlight the development of the Old Believer monasticism of the period, as well as to identify types of monastic settlements peculiar to Old Believers. The main sources are documents from the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts and from the Russian State Historical Archive, as well as newly discovered Old Believer manuscript and letters of the 19th century stored in the fonds of the Novgorod State Integrated Museum Reserve. Most sources are being introduced into the scientific use for the first time. Documents show that Old Believer monasteries and almshouses formed a network of self-organization, united Old Believers of neighboring regions, and were their centers of spiritual life. In a way, they were an alternative for monasteries of the official church. The sketes and almshouses were supported by local and metropolitan merchants; they also had patrons among nobility, which disproves the notion that in the 19th century Old Believers were entirely from taxed estates and merchantry. The documents show that representatives of the nobility could be not just benefactors, but monks and founders of the Old Believer monasteries. Adherence to monastic tradition made the Novgorod gubernia one of the centers of the Old Rite, closely connected with Olonets, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Chernihiv, and Baltic communities. In conclusions the author offers a typology of monastic life organization peculiar to Old Believers of the North-West region: reclusory, secluded skete, skete compound, and cemetery almshouse.

Abstract:

Local theology is a model of theology that existed in postmodernism that emphasized the theology of the local cultural context. It means emphasize the efforts to meet church traditions and Christian themes with the reality of the life of the people around them. Simple theology always understands local sources which consist of local rituals, everyday language, folk songs, proverbs and art buildings. By using these elements means a theologian theologically contextually. The theologian was present and lived with people and listened to their voices. In this case, the simple theology seeks to respect and use the wisdom that is in the local culture, so that local people can easily interpret that wisdom in the light of the Gospel. Therefore this article will contribute a thought on how to build a sketch of Glocal theology.

Stenocypris major major (Baird, 1859) and Stenocypris major sketi Petkovski & Meisch, 1996 were encountered in the Eastern part of Thailand. These two taxa are thus re-described based on Thai materials. The taxonomic position of S. major sketi is revised and placed as a separated species due to the distinct features in the valves and the soft parts morphology, especially in the presence of the postero-dorsal expansion on both valves, the different patterns of the posterior inner lamella margins and the caudal ramus morphology. Therefore, S. sketi Petkovski & Meisch, 1996 is erected for S. major sketi. The occurrence of S. sketi in the present contribution is the first report in Thailand and Southeast Asia. This taxon is thus far endemic to the Oriental region. The selected diagnostic characters of the genus Stenocypris are also briefly discussed.

Abstract:
Time-interleaved technique is widely used to increase the sampling rate of analog-to-digital converter (ADC). However, the channel mismatches degrade the performance of time-interleaved ADC (TIADC). When input signal frequency is very high, timing skews have significant effect on distortion. Therefore, a new timing skew calibration method is proposed in this paper. This method is based on the truth that timing skews are related to the product of the outputs of sub-ADCs. After timing skews are estimated, the digital controlled delay elements (DCDE) in ADC and phase locked loop (PLL) are utilized to calibrate timing skews. No auxiliary circuit and digital filter are needed for this calibration method. Simulation results show that the proposed method can estimate timing skew accurately. It is also proved that an accurate estimation can be obtained even the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of input signal is 20[Formula: see text]dB. The proposed method is employed to calibrate timing skews in a 16-channel TIADC-based 20[Formula: see text]GSPS digital storage oscilloscope (DSO). The experiment results demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method. We can see that after timing skews are calibrated, the spectrum spurs have been effectively eliminated.

Abstract:
The article examines and first introduces into scientific circulation the seal of the “Cossack” skete on Mount Athos “Black Whirlpool” (“Mavro Vyr”) of the 18th — early 19th centuries. Its image was found in Ukrainian and foreign archives among three skete documents of 1758, 1766 and 1802. For the first time, two skete documents from this era are published in applications. Based on the analysis of archival sources, little-known facts are revealed, in particular regarding the status of the Black Whirlpool as a self-governing skete on Mount Athos. It has been established that the seal of the Black Whirlpool has not only historical value, but also represents an example of Ukrainian printing art and also has artistic value. This seal is an important confirmation and attribute of the official status of the monastery. This status of a self-governing skete and the national composition of its inhabitants are indicated on the seal itself, which in itself is a significant historical evidence. The study introduces scientific novelty in the context of studying the historical, spiritual and cultural ties between Ukraine and Athos in the early modern ages.

Abstract:
Pesantren is an educational institution that has a long and unique history. Historically, pesantren were among the earliest Islamic educational institutions and still survive today. In contrast to educational institutions that emerged later, pesantren have been very instrumental in printing ulama cadres and then play an active role in the spread of Islam and the transfer of knowledge. However, in its development the pesantren has undergone a transformation that allows it to lose its identity if its traditional values are not preserved. Today the existence of pesantren has experienced such a development that the intended components are increasingly increasing and equipped with infrastructure and facilities. In its growth history, pesantren have undergone several phases of development including the existence of pesantren specifically mixing with these developments. This paper simply discusses the modernization of Islamic education in pesantren, which then reinforces it with the objectives, curriculum, human resources, learning methods, institutions, infrastructure and facilities and the resulting changes.

Abstract:
Abstract: City is a space that contains complexities for anyone being part of it. Nowadays, people are threatened by the ecologically degrading city as the result of the massive development of buildings and other city’s facilities and infrastructures. A novel portraying the issues of ecological exploitation is Ari Nur Utami’s Sketsa. Being claimed as an architectural background novel, Sketsa portrays the development of buildings in Jakarta by a property developer named PT Semesta Sentosa. By applying ecocriticism theory, one point discussed in this article is how the author imputes certain ecocritical values and assumptions in presenting the urban architecture in Sketsa. The objective of this research is to elaborate the domination of anthropocentric perspective over nature. Through the qualitativedescriptive method, it is found that the development of Jakarta as an urban space is still far from ecocritical considerations. This can be seen from ethical orientation and anthropocentric linguistic chosen for the benefits of property business in Jakarta. Key Words: urban; architecture; ecocriticism

Abstract:
Complete mitochondrial genome sequences facilitate species identification and analyses of phylogenetic relationships. However, the available data are limited to the diverse and widespread insect family Cicadellidae. This study analyzes and summarizes the complete mitochondrial genome structure characteristics of 11 leafhopper subfamilies and two newly sequenced Typhlocybinae species, Empoascanara wengangensis and E. gracilis. Moreover, using 13PCGs and rRNA data to analyze the nucleotide diversity, evolution rate, and the phylogenetic relationship between the subfamilies of 56 species, verifying the taxonomic status analysis of E. wengangensis and E. gracilis. The analysis results show that the genome structures of the subfamilies and the newly sequenced two species are very similar, and the size of the CR region is significantly related to the repeat unit. However, in the entire AT-skews and CG-skews, the AT-skews of other subfamilies are all positive, and CG-skews are negative, while Empoascini of Typhlocybinae and Ledrinae are the opposite. Furthermore, among 13PCGs, the AT-skews of 13 species are all negative while CG-skews are positive, which from Empoascini in Typhlocybinae, Idiocerinae, Cicadellinae, Ledrinae, and Evacanthinae. Phylogenetic analysis shows that ML and PB analysis produce almost consistent topologies between different data sets and models, and some relationships are highly supported and remain unchanged. Mileewinae is a monophyletic group and is a sister group with Typhlocybinae, and the sister group of Evacanthinae is Ledrinae + Cicadellinae. Phylogenetic analysis grouped the two newly sequenced species with other species of Typhlocybinae, which was separated from other subfamilies, and all Erythroneurini insects gathered together. However, E. gracilis grouped into a single group, not grouped with species of the same genus (Empoascanara). This result does not match the traditional classification, and other nuclear genes or transcriptome genes may be needed to verify the result. Nucleotide diversity analysis shows that nad4 and nad5 may be evaluated as potential DNA markers defining the Cicadellidae insect species.

Abstract:
Climate change increases environmental fluctuations which thereby impact population demography. Species with temperature-dependent sex determination may experience more extreme sex ratio skews, but this has not been considered in species with chromosomally determined sex. However, anticipatory maternal effects cause lifelong physiological changes impacting sex ratios. Here we show, in mice, that more sons were born to mothers in good condition when their breeding environment matched their gestational environment, consistent with theoretical predictions, but mothers in mismatched environments have no condition–sex ratio relationship. Thus, the predicted effect of condition on sex ratio was obscured by maternal effects when the environment changed. This may explain extreme sex ratio skews in reintroduced or translocated populations, and sex ratio skews may become more common and less predictable with accelerating environmental change.

Abstract:
In the early stages of designing a design, sketch is an initial beginning of the creation of a powerful idea. Preliminary sketch forms structured or free lines to try to catch an idea or a model that will be realized in the design or picture. The process behind the stunning design starts from a dot and lines to the structure and expanded into a variety of alternative designs. The role of a line is often underestimated and exacerbated by the increasingly rapid development of technology, which makes people lazy to explore manually. The strength of line/scratch built through a continuous training process produces bold, spontaneous, and characterized lines.

Abstract:
The emergence of social media has produced diverse changes for broadcast media in the discharge of their entertainment function. While the uses and gratification theory identifies entertainment as one of the needs that motivate the audience to use the media, the technological determinism theory argues that the nature and strength of interaction in the society change as new media technologies evolve. This study is a descriptive and predictive discourse on how social media skits are reshaping audience consumption, participation, expectation, and production of entertainment. As opposed to broadcast experience, the audience engage with social media skits, own them, many times produce them, form relationships around them, demand for new contents, and through their reactions, affect the sustainability of the content providers online. They also redefine entertainment for comedians who release skits to test new comedy materials. These interacting features together reshape the way the audience experience entertainment on social media.

Abstract:
Herpes zoster infection may cause postherpetic neuralgia, which is defined by prolonged pain predominantly mediated by central nervous system hypersensitivity. This phenomenon may be reversed by (S)-ketamine (SKET), but its use results in intolerable side effects, while its topical administration seems to be safe. It is a cross-over design study with 12 patients randomly divided into two groups. There was a significant effect of time on pain intensity, but no statistical difference in pain scores for SKET or placebo use in this sample in this treatment regimen. Only few mild cutaneous reactions were observed with topical SKET use.

Full text
Abstract:
In this study, we fabricated tumor-homing pH-sensitive extracellular vesicles for efficient tumor treatment. These vesicles were prepared using extracellular vesicles (EVs; BTEVs extracted from BT-474 tumor cells or SKEVs extracted from SK-N-MC tumor cells), hyaluronic acid grafted with 3-(diethylamino)propylamine (HDEA), and doxorubicin (DOX, as a model antitumor drug). Consequently, HDEA/DOX anchored EVs (HDEA@EVs) can interact with origin tumor cells owing to EVs’ homing ability to origin cells. Therefore, EV blends of HDEA@BTEVs and HDEA@SKEVs demonstrate highly increased cellular uptake in both BT-474 and SK-N-MC cells: HDEA@BTEVs for BT-474 tumor cells and HDEA@SKEVs for SK-N-MC tumor cells. Furthermore, the hydrophobic HDEA present in HDEA@EVs at pH 7.4 can switch to hydrophilic HDEA at pH 6.5 as a result of acidic pH-induced protonation of 3-(diethylamino)propylamine (DEAP) moieties, resulting in an acidic pH-activated EVs’ disruption, accelerated release of encapsulated DOX molecules, and highly increased cell cytotoxicity. However, EV blends containing pH-insensitive HA grafted with deoxycholic acid (HDOC) (HDOC@BTEVs and HDOC@SKEVs) showed less cell cytotoxicity for both BT-474 and SK-N-MC tumor cells, because they did not act on EVs’ disruption and the resulting DOX release. Consequently, the use of these tumor-homing pH-sensitive EV blends may result in effective targeted therapies for various tumor cells.
