Impression management (IM) handlar om enmedveten eller omedveten process att styra intrycken av sig själv som ges tillomgivningen i syfte att imponera och söka erkännande. Tidigare forskning har istor utsträckning berört anställningsrekommendation utifrån intervjuer och demest framgångsrika resultaten har visat sig vara självförbättrande IM taktik.Studiens syfte vara att undersöka hur självförbättrande IM taktik i personligtbrev, två kvalitéer av meriter, påverkar ett beslut omanställningsrekommendation, samt undersöka hur en uppsättning personliga egenskaperrelaterar till självförbättrande IM taktik. Deltagarna var studenter, 57kvinnor och 32 män. Studien var experimentell 2 x 2 x 2 mellangruppsdesign. Deviktigaste fynden var att, högre kvalité av meriter innebar högre skattning avanställningsrekommendation samt att högre skattning av egenskaper vidsjälvförbättrande IM taktik skattats. Meriters kvalité visades viktig,egenskaper visade samband med IM dock satte IM trovärdighet på spel.Könsskillnader påträffades även och vidare forskning förslås göras mellankönen.

This diploma thesis deals with hiding data in the Internet traffic. It contains a description of the law interception. Various possibilities of hiding data are mentioned. The practical part of this thesis consists of an application that hides the data of HTTP and HTTPS protocols in a fake VoIP call. The application consists of two parts: a client and a server. Data transmitted between the client and the server parts are masked as multimedia data of the VoIP call. When a user or Internet server does not transmit any data, random data are transmitted between client and server parts in order to simulate the VoIP call. Then, the thesis focuses on detection of the attack.

The current large concentration of wireless networks brings new horizons, but also new concerns. Failure to follow basic rules may produce far-reaching problems that could make more wrinkles to all affected managers and administrators. The aim of this thesis was to measure and compare the radio parameters of selected products and how they behave in neighboring interference and the speed they have while there are hidden nodes. The resulting values were measured in the laboratory network Wificolab and compared with the various support protocols. Possible effects on the specific situation are also analyzed in this thesis.

The established system achieved the success above 96%.

Prediction and searching for homologous protein sequences is one of important tasks which are currently being addressed in the area of bioinformatics. According to the determination of homologous sequences of unknown protein sequence it is often possible to determine its structure and function in the organism. For searching homologous sequences, the most frequently used tools are based on direct sequence comparison, profile comparison or on the use of hidden Markov models. There is no universal method better than all others. To satisfy user`s request on needed sequence identity between domains and error rate between founded true positive and false positive pairs, the selection of proper method and its settings is needed. This work is focused to create tool which will help user to choose the best method and its settings according to his requirements. It was created on the basis of the analysis of method results with different settings. In addition, the implemented application offers the possibility to run this method and show its results.

Protein p53 which is encoded by gene TP53 plays crucial role in cell cycle as a regulator of transcription of genes in cases when cell is under stress. Therefore p53 acts like tumor suppressor. Understanding the pathway of p53 regulation as well as predicting its binding sites on p53 regulated genes is one of the major concerns of modern research in genetics and bioinformatics. In first part of this project we aim to introduce basics from molecular biology to better understand the p53 protein pathway in gene transcription and introduction to analysis of prediction of p53 binding sites. Second part is about implementation and testing of tool which would be able to predict transcription factor binding sites for protein p53.

Eukaryotní DNA se váže kolem nukleozomů, čím ovplyvnuje vyšši strukturu DNA a přístup k vazebním mistům pro všeobecní transkripční faktory a oblasti genů. Je proto důležité vědet, kde se nukleozomy vážou na DNA, a jak silná tato vazba je, abychom mohli porozumět mechanizmům regulace genů. V rámci projektu byla implementována nová metoda pro predikci nukleozomů založená na rozšíření Skrytých Markovových modelů, kde jako trénovací a testovací sada posloužila publikována data z Brogaard et al. (Brogaard K, Wang J-P, Widom, J. Nature 486(7404), 496-501 (2012). doi:10.1038/nature11142). Správne predikováno bylo zhruba 50% nukleozomů, co je porovnatenlný výsledek s existujícimi metodami. Okrem toho byla provedena řada experimentů popisující vlastnosti sekvencí nukleozomů a ich organizace.

Gene detection in DNA sequences is one of the most difficult problems, which have been currently solved in bioinformatics. This thesis deals with gene detection in DNA sequences with methods using Hidden Markov Models. It contains a brief description of the fundamental principles of molecular biology, explains how genetic information is stored in DNA sequences, as well as the theoretical basis of the Hidden Markov Models. Further is described subsequent approach in the design of specific Hidden Markov Models for solving the problem of gene detection in DNA sequences. Is designed and implemented application, which uses previously designed Hidden Markov model for gene detection. This application is tested on the real data, results of these tests are discussed in the end of the thesis, as well as the possible extension and continuation of the project.

This work identifies the causes for unsatisfactory reliability of contemporary systems for automatic speech recognition when deployed in demanding conditions. The impact of the individual sources of performance degradation is documented and a list of known methods for their identification from the recognized signal is given. An overview of the usual methods to suppress the impact of the disruptive influences on the performance of speech recognition is provided. The essential contribution of the work is the formulation of new approaches to constructing acoustical models of noisy speech and nonstationary noise allowing high recognition performance in challenging conditions. The viability of the proposed methods is verified on an isolated-word speech recognizer utilizing several-hour-long recording of the real operating room background acoustical noise recorded at the Uniklinikum Marburg in Germany. This work is the first to identify the impact of changes in speaker’s vocal effort on the reliability of automatic speech recognition in the full vocal effort range (i.e. whispering through shouting). A new concept of a speech recognizer immune to the changes in vocal effort is proposed. For the purposes of research on changes in vocal effort, a new speech database, BUT-VE1, was created.

Goal of this work was to create system capable of visualisation of activation function values, which were produced by neurons placed in hidden layers of neural networks used for speech recognition. In this work are also described experiments comparing methods for visualisation, visualisations of neural networks with different architectures and neural networks trained with different types of input data. Visualisation system implemented in this work is based on previous work of Mr. Khe Chai Sim and extended with new methods of data normalization. Kaldi toolkit was used for neural network training data preparation. CNTK framework was used for neural network training. Core of this work - the visualisation system was implemented in scripting language Python.

The aim of diploma thesis is a design of project for realization of a building of kindergarden construction. Also there are solved suitable disposition for this purpose and design of a bearing structure with a respect to static and thermal part of documentation. Part of kindergarden is designed as day nursery. That means the building is used for care for children in age of 6 months up to 6 years. The kindergarden has three classes with overall capacity of 60 children. The day nursery part of the building has capacity of 12 kids. The building has two floors without basement, groundplan has irregular arched shape with structurally divided parts. A shape and altitude of the building is adapted to vertical alignment of a ground. The main entrances into the building are situated from two height levels of a slope. A residential rooms are situated from southeast to southwest. Part of the building is protected from north by adjacent soil. The structural system of kindergarden is timber. Structurally divided part of day nursery is a combination of hidden reinforce concrete skeleton and lime-sandstone masonry system. A ceiling structure is made of glue laminated timber system. Roofing of the building is solved as vegetational roof with a smooth connection to slope terrain by arched structure. A facade is made as breathable system of timber plates.

Master thesis is related to the problematics of automatic speech recognition on systems with restricted hardware resources - embedded systems. The object of this work was to design and implement speech recognition system on embedded systems, that do not contain floating-point processing units. First objective was to choose proper hardware architecture. Based on the knowledge of available HW resources, the recognition system design was made. During the system development, optimalization was made on constituent elements so they could be mounted on chosen HW. The result of the the project is successful recognition of Czech numerals on embedded system.

The thesis deals with analysis of legal aspects of product placement. First, it looks at product placement from a general point of view. The work explains past legal framework where product placement was a part of "unfair competition" both in EU and Czech Republic. Then, it analyzes particular articles of directive 2007/65/EC which regulates the term product placement as the first in the history. The analyses showed that there are a lot of vague and disputable terms, e. g. "significant value", provision "free of charge", or ensuring that viewers are "clearly informed" about existence of product placement. Further, the work analyzes an implementation of the directive to the czech law and its comparison with Slovakia. Product placement was translated into czech law as "umístění produktu". The implementation is reflected in the "on-demand audiovisual media services Act" but also in the amendment of Act Nr. 231/2001 Sb. By contrast, Slovakia did not create a new special Act for non-linear audiovisual media services, just amended Act Nr. 308/2000 Z.z. and some other affecting laws. Finally, the work confronts the legal theory with praxis. This is done by a survey. The most important result of the survey showed that almost a half of the respondents think that product placement is not a commercial practice. This fact highlights the importance of ensuring that viewers are "clearly informed" about the existence of product placement and also the provision of consumer protection.

The thesis investigates different exchange rate models and their forecasting performance. The work takes previous literature overview and summarize their findings. Despite the significant amount of papers which were done on the topic of exchange rate forecast, basically none of them cannot find an appropriate model which would outperform a forecast of a simple random walk in every horizon or for any currency pair. However, there are some positive findings in specific cases (e.g. for specific pair or for specific time horizon). The study provides up-to-date analysis of four exchange rates (USD/CZK, USD/ILS, USD/GBP and USD/EUR) for the period of time from January 2000 to August 2013 and analyse forecasting performance of seven exchange rate models (uncovered interest rate parity model, purchasing power parity model, monetary model, monetary model with error correction, Taylor rule model, hidden Markov model and ESTAR model). Although, the results are in advantage of Taylor rule model, especially for the exchange rate of USD/CZK, I cannot prove that the forecasting performance is significantly better than the random walk model. Except of the overall analysis, the work suppose instabilities in the time. Stock and Watson (2003) found that the forecast predictability is not stable over time. As a consequence, the econometric model can give us better forecast than random walk process at some period of time, however at other period, the forecasting ability can be worse than random walk. Based on Fluctuation test of Giacomini and Rossi (2010a) every model is analysed how the out-of-sample forecast ability changes over time.

This diploma thesis is dealing with frame multi-storey garage structure, mainly with its slab. According to the assignment there was made a parametrical study. It contains the comparision of three construction versions: solid slab, slab with void formers Cobiax and prestressed concrete slab. At the chosen variant the 3D mathematical model, which was created in software Scia Engineer, was specified and the construction was designed according to ultimate limit state and serviceability limit state. The selection of methods and approaches to automatic recognition of ATC commands rises from detailed air traffic studies. By the reason that there is not any definite solution in such extensive field like speech recognition, this diploma work is focused just on speech recognizer based on comparison with templates (DTW). This recognizor is in this thesis realized and compared with freely accessible HTK system from Cambrige University based on statistic methods making use of Hidden Markov models. The usage propriety of both methods is verified by practical testing and results evaluation.

From the western side there is an administrative area connected to the church and from eastern side there is a community area which is supposed to be used as residential premises. Roof of both these parts is constructed as flat vegetative roof. Structural design is systemic, Velox. Foundation construction combines concrete and ferro-concrete belts and footing.

Tato diplomová práce popisuje principy statistického strojového překladu a demonstruje, jak sestavit systém pro statistický strojový překlad Moses. V přípravné fázi jsou prozkoumány volně dostupné bilingvní česko-anglické korpusy. Empirická analýza časové náročnosti vícevláknových nástrojů pro zarovnání slov demonstruje, že MGIZA++ může dosáhnout až pětinásobného zrychlení, zatímco PGIZA++ až osminásobného zrychlení (v porovnání s GIZA++). Jsou otestovány tři způsoby morfologického pre-processingu českých trénovacích dat za použití jednoduchých nefaktorových modelů. Zatímco jednoduchá lemmatizace může snížit BLEU, sofistikovanější přístupy většinou BLEU zvyšují. Positivní efekty morfologického pre-processingu se vytrácejí s růstem velikosti korpusu. Vztah mezi dalšími charakteristikami korpusu (velikost, žánr, další data) a výsledným BLEU je empiricky měřen. Koncový systém je natrénován na korpusu CzEng 0.9 a vyhodnocen na testovacím vzorku z workshopu WMT 2010.

As the basic factors affecting the activity of "Moravian" hidden Church the analysis indicated: the degree of openness of activities and measure of their own individual initiative. The introduction presents state of research, described the sources from which it was drawn, it also presented the methodology and definitions based on the methodology. Hauková je jaksi samozřejmě vnímána jako členka Skupiny 42, a stejně jistě je přijímána jako překladatelka z angličtiny. Coby svébytná básnířka setrvala dlouho, když ne přímo opodál zájmu literární kritiky, tak řekněme alespoň "ve stínu"svých skupinových souputníků. Příčiny tohoto faktu ponechávám stranou, ale připouštím, že toto "proč" se stalo pohnutkou ke zrodu mé diplomové práce. Dalším podnětem byly některé kritické poznámky recenzentů, kteří hodnotili poezii Baukové jakožto ženskou, aniž by ovšem tuto "ženskost" nějak blíže specifikovali. Na druhé straně, mnoho jiných kritiků ponechávalo tento aspekt její poezie bez povšimnutí. Azerbaijan is little known and its minorities are largely under-researched. Previous work done by Russian and Azerbaijani linguists described grammatical features of the Tat language, and SIL-led linguistic field surveys by J. Clifton addressed some sociolinguistic attitudes, yet the Tat people, particularly the Lahij people, remain unknown. This is the first time the Lahij community, which preserved a relict Southwest Iranian language and a unique culture, is a topic of inter-disciplinary research in English language. Resources such as Russian and Azeri literature and Western works dealing with related dis- ciplines and issues (historical, socio-linguistical, anthropological etc.) are discussed, aiming to reach a balanced and informed perspective. Nevertheless, these directives have been implemented imperfectly and incompletely. This fact relates namely to the implementation of the Directive of the European Parliament and Councel No. 2005/29/EC, on the Unfair commercial practices towards consumers. One of the key issues that the Czech Academia had to deal with was the possibility of consumer to use for its defence against unfair commercial practice stipulations of the General Clause of the Unfair Competition set by the Commercial Code. This thesis enquires into the question of the hidden nature of things and reality in the context of David Hume's philosophy. In the context of a Humean approach to reality, it discusses whether the things which we perceive and which are considered to be perceptions can have some sort of non-empirical correlation that lies beneath them and whether it can be called the hidden nature of these things. The first half of the thesis is focused on the philosophy of David Hume. In the second half of the thesis two original considerations about the hidden nature and its characteristics are presented. The thesis starts with three selected theories of substance as presented in A Treatise of Human Nature. The theory of John Locke and the theory of the peripatetics are presented from Hume's critical perspective. Consequently is presented an interpretation called the New Hume. In the context of this interpretation, Hume presumes that there are hidden entities lying beneath empirical reality. Velmi svérázná byla poznámka jednoho českého psychiatra, který tvrdil, že tématika psychospirituálních krizí je vhodná jen jako záminka, jak navázat kontakt a poplést hlavu studentkám psychologie. Ačkoli je možné, že s touto strategií slavil zmíněný psychiatr úspěchy, otázka psychospirituálních krizí má bezesporu hlubší, a daleko podstatnější důvody. Myslím si, že v současnosti je již výzkum v této oblasti na takové úrovni, že by bylo zbytečné obhajovat samotnou existenci psychospirituálních krizí a lidské psychospirituality. This interesting phenomenon is an important part of the elementary particle physics and thanks to it, it is possible to generate masses of fermions and gauge bosons in the Standard Model. However, in this work I try to present a more general view and I bring up a few examples from various parts of physics, starting with classical mechanics and ending with quantum eld theory. I also study consequences of spontaneous symmetry breaking and discuss dierences in manifestations of this phenomenon in theories with nite and innite number of freedom. This work is primarily meant as a consistent survey of already known results supplemented with their sueciently detailed technical derivation in a comprehensible form.

The diploma thesis examines the implicit pension debt in the fifteen EU countries. The Holzmann et al. (2011) methodology is applied to show the impact of population ageing on the pension systems in the EU. The implicit pension debts demonstrate the considerable hidden debt burden in the all fifteen countries. The implicit pension debts range in the interval from 47 % of GDP for the Czech Republic to 906 % for Greece. Nine of the analyzed countries record the implicit pension debts in the interval 100 - 300 % of GDP. The sensitivity analysis and the comparison with other studies confirm our findings. The thesis points out sizeable imbalances among the particular countries, genders and age cohorts.

The delineation of desmid species was traditionally based on purely morphological features. However, a frequent misinterpretation of morphological variability in desmids has led in the past to extensive taxonomical confusion within this important group of green algae which complicates the interpretation of their biodiversity in freshwater ecology, biogeography and biomonitoring. Consequently, I focused in this thesis predominantly on a previously neglected issue, the application of polyphasic approaches in the species-level taxonomy of desmids. In the most studies, a combination of both traditional morphological and modern molecular phylogenetic and geometric morphometric methods has been used to evaluate the taxonomy of selected desmid species, particularly representatives of the morphologically complex genera Micrasterias and Xanthidium. In two papers, I used the combination of traditional morphological and autecological data to clear up the taxonomy of several morphologically less prominent desmid taxa. Generally, the results of the thesis demonstrated that the way we recently see the diversity and distribution of desmids should be thoroughly changed. This diploma thesis is examining hidden presence of a French author Romain Gary in the works of Émile Ajar. Only after Gary's death the public learned, that Émile Ajar was in fact Gary's pseudonym, although he has publicly denied this connection throughout his life. Because of this unrevealed mystification, Gary was given Goncourt prize twice, despite the fact that each author is only allowed to receive it once. Gary claims in his testament, that an observant reader of his work should immediately discover the connection. Can we agree with him, even if literary critics failed to find out? This work investigates various literary practices used by authors to hide their identity. The "lives" of both authors are presented. Gary did not only create Émile Ajar's life story, he also persuaded his nephew to pose as Ajar in public. The stories are followed by a comparative analysis of eight novels: four published under Gary's name and four under the pseudonym. Comparing the selected works from diverse aspects, we try to answer the principal question: Was it possible to prove that Émile Ajar was Gary's creation during his very lifetime?

The publication "Stories of Hidden Art" discusses an little known sector of medieval art in Czech countries - decoration of bells. The most important aim of this book is to introduce this unusual and interesting topic to experts as well as the public. Using facts derived from research, this thesis is presented in essay form including pictures allowing the text to be easily read and understood. The topic is discussed in nine chapters, each of them with a story "told by the bell". The reader will gain a step-by-step understanding of the reasons and functions of the bell, its evolution, decoration and wider social-historical facts that mirror the bell's appearance. A large focus is put into international and interfield relationships; in case of the most expanded set of Czech bells' reliefs we can follow its origin back to its creation in the Austrian Judenburg, where we can also find many parallels in contemporary statuary and painting. Similar continuity is to be found comparing other reliefs, often of a very good quality, which can be a valuable method of challenging existing beliefs that the handcrafted arts are inferior to so called "high" art.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of hidden malnutrition in patients with advanced stage of ovarian carcinoma. Tumor diseases are often accompanied by malnutrition. In the case of ovarian cancer, malnutrition may be hidden, primarily due to ascites, which can distort body weight. Out of the patients included in this study 32 % had ascites. The basic nutritional status test in hospitals is the nutritional screening performed on each hospitalized patient to detect the risk of malnutrition. Other methods such as anthropometric measurements, laboratory values, bioimpedance analysis, or less commonly, imaging processes can also be used to detect malnutrition. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate whether nutritional screening and regular weight control in patients with advanced ovarian cancer is sufficient to diagnose malnutrition. The results have shown that the inclusion of anthropometric measurements between routine screening can be beneficial in detecting a greater number of malnourished patients. Also shifting the BMI threshold in nutritional screening for patients over 65 would greatly increase the capture of patients at risk of malnutrition. 1 Summary My dissertation focuses on Mishima Yukio and the way the author, who strongly occupied himself with reflections on the imperfection of human language during the last decade of his life, conveyed the things that he was not able to or did not want to express explicitly. The dissertation is based on the metaphor of four rivers flowing into the Sea of Fertility, one of the arid lunar maria, that the writer used for his 'inconsistent' life shortly before his death. The four rivers that merged in Mishima's final work, the grandiose tetralogy The Sea of Fertility, represented four areas of the author's life. Each of them allowed him to express his ideas and feelings in a slightly different way. The River of Writing represented his fiction, the River of Theater showed his plays and his acting, the River of Body emphasized the role of bodybuilding and other sports in his life and finally, the River of Action revealed how the effeminate writer had transformed himself into a 'man of action'. The first section of my dissertation deals with Mishima's view on verbal communication. in English This work focuses on the Czech afterwar avant-garde and its fiction in the wider European context. The main goal of our writing was diversifying literary historical field by integrating genre of short story and its authors into the interpretive frame of the prepoetistic avant-garde. We could intrude a canonic picture of the Czech avant-garde by enriching the interpretive frame of the new genre (short story) and new, often hardly known or forgotten, writers. Last but not least by doing so we were able to questioned and problematized basic oppositions such as expressionism × avant-garde, and mainly individualism × collectivism. We introduce the principal opposition individualism × collectivism, which in our opinion, organizes afterwar literary discourse, as a main connecting line between Czech avant-garde art and European art (collective and one of its manifestation - crowd, as one of the main themes of modernism and avant-garde). We interpretate beyond this scope the fictions of French unanimism as the main inspiration of the Czech afterwar avan-garde and its (collective) fiction as well.
