Abstract:
Context. Millimetre-wave continuum astronomy is today an indispensable tool for both general astrophysics studies (e.g. star formation, nearby galaxies) and cosmology (e.g. cosmic microwave background and high-redshift galaxies). General purpose, large-field-of-view instruments are needed to map the sky at intermediate angular scales not accessible by the high-resolution interferometers (e.g. ALMA in Chile, NOEMA in the French Alps) and by the coarse angular resolution space-borne or ground-based surveys (e.g. Planck, ACT, SPT). These instruments have to be installed at the focal plane of the largest single-dish telescopes, which are placed at high altitude on selected dry observing sites. In this context, we have constructed and deployed a three-thousand-pixel dual-band (150 GHz and 260 GHz, respectively 2 mm and 1.15 mm wavelengths) camera to image an instantaneous circular field-of-view of 6.5 arcmin in diameter, and configurable to map the linear polarisation at 260 GHz. Aims. First, we are providing a detailed description of this instrument, named NIKA2 (New IRAM KID Arrays 2), in particular focussing on the cryogenics, optics, focal plane arrays based on Kinetic Inductance Detectors, and the readout electronics. The focal planes and part of the optics are cooled down to the nominal 150 mK operating temperature by means of an adhoc dilution refrigerator. Secondly, we are presenting the performance measured on the sky during the commissioning runs that took place between October 2015 and April 2017 at the 30-m IRAM telescope at Pico Veleta, near Granada (Spain). Methods. We have targeted a number of astronomical sources. Starting from beam-maps on primary and secondary calibrators we have then gone to extended sources and faint objects. Both internal (electronic) and on-the-sky calibrations are applied. The general methods are described in the present paper. Results. NIKA2 has been successfully deployed and commissioned, performing in-line with expectations. In particular, NIKA2 exhibits full width at half maximum angular resolutions of around 11 and 17.5 arcsec at respectively 260 and 150 GHz. The noise equivalent flux densities are, at these two respective frequencies, 33±2 and 8±1 mJy s1/2. A first successful science verification run was achieved in April 2017. The instrument is currently offered to the astronomy community and will remain available for at least the following ten years.

Abstract:
After extensive planning, i presented what should have been a masterpiece lesson. I worked several examples on the overhead projector, answered every student's question in great detail, and explained the concept so clearly that surely my students understood. The next day, however, it became obvious that the students were totally confused. In my early years of teaching, this situation happened all too often. Even though observations by my principal clearly pointed out that I was very good at explaining mathematics to my students, knew my subject matter well, and really seemed to be a dedicated and caring teacher, something was wrong. My students were capable of learning much more than they displayed.

The aim of this search is to know what kids speak about the spaces of their own school. This research took place in a public day care center hold in a specific area, in a community in Rio de Janeiro, Baixada Fluminense. First we only observed a daily routine of a four year old group, in order to investigate how they really use the spaces by themselves and how the adults act with the same spaces and finally how they (adults and kids) together or not interact in the same space. In addition we invited these children to tell us how they see, use and appropriate of their spaces inside the school. Using pictures and images this research aims a dialogue among these same kids. The target is to understand what their point of view and perspectives say about what they see and record about these specific spaces they keep on daily. The first chapter presents the empirical area lightening the kids rights in the quality aspects of institutional spaces. The second chapter shows the research theories and methodologies: Lev Vigotski s historical cultural psicology, childhood sociology (by Willian Corsaro, Manuela Ferreira e Manuel Sarmento) and Martin Buber s dialogue philosophy. And the third chapter contains analysis of some pictures of the public day care center taken by the four years old group themselves. Finally, looking from what kids say, indicate ways aiming at the quality of the spaces, practices and aproaches in Early Childhood Education.

Abstract:
Background: When the waiting periods in health care are shortened, there is need for a coordinated healthcare plan to make the patient and family feel safe and secure at discharge. A good plan where all concerned feel involved decreases the patient and families anxieties. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe how the patient and related experience their participation in a coordinated healthcare plan. Method: The study is a literary survey based on both qualitative and quantitative articles. Results:  Three main theme emerged, Dialogue that promotes participation, Convey health problems and participate in their planning of continuing care and Experiencing involvement in transfer to another health care provider. The result show that communication where very important to feel participation, an area where there is potential for development and is in line with person-centered care. By choosing different work methods than are used today the possibility for increased participation is given. Conclusion: The experience of participation are strongly connected with the patients feelings of being informed and that he or she is perceived as an expert of his or her own condition. The patient and family felt informed and knowledgeable when there was a good interaction between them and the health personnel.

Abstract:
Under WPS effect is understood ratio of stress intensity factor at fracture after WPS (Kfr) and the “usual” fracture toughness KIc. Theoretical models of WPS effects were derived for Small Scale Yielding (SSY) conditions. For comparison of experimental results with theory, classical Chell model was chosen: real Kfrexper is compared with predicted KfrChell. For characterization of pre-stress level in case of small specimens, it is convenient to use elastoplastic quantity KJWPS corrected to the equivalent KJWPS in SSY conditions; this quantity is denoted by symbol KJWPS(SSY). For material with certain stress-strain curve σ = f(ε), universal dependence of Kfrexper/KfrChell on KJWPS(SSY) was obtained, which describes behaviour of specimens of different sizes. If another stress-strain curve has the same shape (i.e. if σ = const.f(ε)), KIcfrexper/KfrChell lies (up to the accuracy of experiments) on the universal dependence curve Kfrexper/KfrChell vs. KJWPS(SSY)/σy, where KJWPS(SSY)/σy is a quantity proportional to the square root of the plastified zone size in SSY conditions. Different stress-strain curve shapes lead to smaller or greater Kfrexper/KfrChell. Stress-strain curves cannot be generally expressed by power law hardening, but the Curry-Smith model derived with the use of Ramberg-Osgood law qualitatively predicts the increase or decrease of Kfr in dependence on the strain hardening exponent.

Abstract:
As part of its day to day business NDA must be able to demonstrate that it is delivering value for money across its entire estate, as this is essential to securing funding from government and demonstrating to stakeholders that NDA is delivering on its mission. Value comes in many forms such as an improved environment, hazard reduction, changes in sky line, social amenities, money, employment etc. Depending on the perspective of the receiver, and their closeness to the effected area, the relative weighting they place on the different aspects of value will vary. Therefore the challenge to NDA has been how to get a consistent approach to measuring value that is broadly acceptable to stakeholders and allows the different aspects of value to be compared and decisions made on a national basis. This paper describes the work undertaken by NDA to develop a Value Framework to support decision making at both the strategic and tactical level and addresses the following topics: • The relationship between the value framework and UK government guidance on business case development and options appraisal; • The development of the value framework tool kit including previous work on the NDA prioritisation process and the derivation of Safety and Environmental Detriment scores; • How NDA uses the value framework in its decision making processes.

There are two questions that practically every engineer or designer asks of insulation manufacturers serving the commercial/industrial markets: 1. What insulation material can be used for this application? 2. How thick should the insulation be? The first question is beyond the scope of this presentation. The answer depends on many factors. Suffice it to say that no insulation material commercially available is ideally suited for every kind of application or service. For our purposes today, we have assumed that fiber glass has been selected as the insulation type of choice, and we now concentrate on the second question, “How thick should the insulation be?” Paper published with permission.

Abstract:
A new design code has been developed for construction and operation/maintenance of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). A superconducting magnet system is one of the key components of ITER and its design code includes new cryogenic materials and design approach with taking account of unique features of a performance of the superconducting magnet. The new materials are nitrogen strengthened austenitic stainless steels, which have a yield strength (Sy) of over 1000 MPa and fracture toughness (KIc) of over 200 MP√m at liquid helium temperature (4K). The feature of the design approach is use of the allowable stress defined by only 2/3 Sy measured at 4K. A concept and reliability of the new design approach using new cryogenic materials for the ITER superconducting magnet system are discussed in this paper.

Abstract In this paper, we report the proposal and development of the numerical model. The model applies to two and three dimensional problems. We introduce the model to the MPS method which is a kind of particle method, and discuss applicability of the model on numerical test of aerial physical pendulum in free torque load; the present model was compared with the theoretical solution by the 4th order Runge-Kutta method. As a result, we confirmed the good reproducibility of the model. And we can say that the model is suitable for analyzing the problem of physical pendulum. Secondary, we examine the practicability of this model in the regular wave from the calculation results. The tests are examined by a two-dimensional problem in order to reduce calculation cost. In addition, we conducted fluid-structure interaction analysis using the present model and confirmed the applicability of its model to fluid field analysis.

Abstract:
Two modes could be adopted such as pulverizing coal in different mills’ and ‘blending before furnace’. When blending different kind of coal, for “blending before furnace ’that means the different coals are blended previously before they are transported into Coal bunker and different mills pulverize same raw coal; on the other hand, Pulverizing coal in different mills’ means that different raw coals enter different mills, that is to say, different mills pulverize different raw coal. It is often held that it is unnecessary to optimize coal-blending mode since there are no essential difference of combustion characteristic etc. between anthracites. To determine the necessity of optimize mode when blending one anthracite with another anthracite, numerical simulation is carried out under different conditions using dual-mixture fraction/PDF approach. The calculated result shows that the furnace temperature field, oxygen distribution and velocity field are quite symmetrical under the ‘blending before furnace mode. But In contrast of that on the mode of pulverizing coal in different mills, the burn-off degree of powder coal and furnace outlet temperature are much lower. Even if using the same ‘pulverizing coal in different mills’ mode, if the mills running mode is changed, the efficiency of the boiler exist a gap from one to another. The simulation results prove that ‘pulverizing coal in different mills’ can enhance the combustion efficiency of boiler greatly even when one kind of anthracite is blended with another kind of anthracite. The operation mode of the coal-mills affect the furnace temperature field clearly and it could decrease coking tendency when the coal which is prone to be coked and so it is arranged far from the side wall of furnace.

Abstract:
A screw-type centrifugal pump is a kind of non-clog type pump and has been widely used, for instance, for drainage of rainwater as well as slurries and mud in sewage control systems (Reference to Fig. 1). In order to avoid choking the impeller passage with the congestion of solids, the impeller is designed to have a wide passage whose configuration is screw formed by a three-dimensional spiral blade added to a conical hub cone. The prediction of radial and axial thrust is important and useful information for the safe operation and the impeller design, to say nothing of the internal flow prediction and pump performance prediction. Particularly, the fluctuation of radial and axial thrust in this pump is large because of one blade. Therefore, to predict the thrust correctly is important. In this paper, the radial and axial thrust has been numerically predicted. Especially, the numerical result on the radial thrust is compared with the experimental results. The validity of thrust prediction has been discussed.

Abstract:
Genocide or, to say the least, ethnic cleansing towards Muslims in Rakhine State, Myanmar, conducted by fanatic Buddhist monks and the military has been on the agenda in recent months. This opening speech aims at finding out real causes of this inhumane incident and investigating whether or not it is solely a result of some kind interreligious conflict in Myanmar. My research has convinced me that Rakhine inter-ethnic question has international economic and security related roots that deserve close and detailed investigation. In my point of view, the Rakhine Question depends heavily on economic security considerations such as: a) security of natural gas and petrol reservoirs in Rakhine State and pipelines connecting Rakhine State to China, b) security of railway link connecting Kyaukpyu Deep Water Sea Port in Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone in Rakhine State to China which has developed by China to bypass Malacca Strait. The potential that Muslim dominated Rakhine State may cause security threats to some of the foreign Chinese investments in Myanmar in medium term should be taken as a main cause that gives way to ethnic cleansing against Muslim Rakhine population.

Abstract:
Children with a shy/inhibited temperament are at risk of developing internalising problems later in life.1 Unfortunately, the responses to such behaviours by some parents — such as overprotective or harsh parenting — can add to this risk.
