<p>This paper explores the statistical properties of microfragment recovery techniques used on NTFS filesystems in the use of digital forensics. A microfragment is the remnant file-data existing in the cluster slack after this file has been overwritten. The empirical results show that the environment uncertainty moderates the relationship between cost budgetary slack and future financial performance. Besides, the environment uncertainty moderates the relationship between RD budgetary slack and future financial performance. Last, the environment uncertainty moderates the relationship between RD budgets and future non-financial performance.
