Abstract:
The use of the scanning low energy electron microscopy (SLEEM) has been slowly making its way into the field of materials science, hampered not by limitations in the technique but rather by relative scarcity of these instruments in research institutes and laboratories. This paper reports the results obtained from an investigation of the microstructure of ultra fine-grained (UFG) copper fabricated using equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) method, namely in the as-pressed state and after annealing. SLEEM is very sensitive to the perfection of crystal lattice and using SLEEM, local strain can be effectively imaged.

Abstract:
In the present talk, MgAl2O4 in the Al2O3/Al-1.0mass%Mg2Si alloy composite was also observed by a scanning electron microscope equipped with the low energy electron (SLEEM) adaptation aiming at examination of its morphology and orientation relationships to the Al2O3 particles. Owing to its much smaller interaction volume of signal exciting electrons in the target and hence more localized information, together with a favorable combination of secondary (SE) and backscattered (BSE) electron signals, the SLEEM method provided much better readable and detailed images of all particles, their shapes and mutual orientations, in comparison with conventional SE and BSE images at the electron energies usually used in the SEM. MgAl2O4 (spinels) were formed on facets of Al2O3 as small particles, and their shape well corresponded to an octahedron consisting of 8 equiaxial triangles.

Abstract:
Background: Sleep problems are self-care deficits of sleep experienced by more than 44% of preschoolers. Some studies have showed that physical, psychological, family, environmental, and temperamental factors could cause sleep problems among children. However, other research showed that there is no correlation between sleep problems and environmental factors. There are pro-cons regarding the causes of sleep problems. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze factors affecting sleep problems among preschoolers. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 297 preschoolers selected by systematic random sampling. Data were collected using the Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaires (CSHQ) and analyzed using bivariate (Chi-Square and Fisher tests) and multivariate (logistic regression) analyses. Results: Results of the bivariate analysis showed that some variables were related to sleep problems among preschoolers, including family income (p=0.027), the education level of the mother (p<0.001), and bed-sharing (p=0.003). Multivariate analysis found that factors related to sleep problems were bed-sharing (p=0.031; OR=2.377), gadget use in two hours before sleep (p=0.039; OR= 2.703), and the education level of the mother (p=0.007; OR=2.244).Conclusion: Factors related to sleep problems in preschoolers were bed-sharing, gadget use in two hours before sleep, the education level of the mother, and family income. This study recommends that environmental and family factors should be modified by limiting bed-sharing and reducing the use of gadgets before bedtime.

Abstract:
There are three alternating states of vigilance throughout our lives: wakefulness, NREM, and REM sleep. We usually yawn before falling asleep. Yawning is an ancient reaction, an instinctive action, manifested in a person by drowsiness or boredom. Yawning is often associated with the need for stretching. Yawning is a less strong territorial reflex. During deep sleep muscular tone is sharply reduced. Relaxation of the muscles and the lowering of their tone, howeever, are not constant and necessary components of sleep. Analysis of EEG recordings soon revealed that sleep is by no means a uniform process, but can be divided into at least two sharply separated states: one is characterized by slow waves in the EEG that are completely separate from the activity of wakefulness: this so-called slow wave sleep; the other is the so-called paradoxical sleep. Hypnopedia, as a discipline, deals with the input of fixed information introduced during the period of natural sleep, also known as sleep learning. Our hypnopedia researches was a pleasant surprise, because they were able to reproduce texts they did not know with an efficiency of approx. 25%.

Abstract:
Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is characterized by repeated breathing pauses during sleep, with slee disruption, intermittent hypoxia, and cardiac, metabolic and neuropsychological disturbances. Metabolic syndrome (MS) is an association of cardiovascular risk factors centered on insulin resistance. The study objective is to calculate the prevalence of MS and its components in a large group of OSAHS patients. We evaluated 350 patients addressed to The Military Hospital Iasi between 2016 and 2017 from the clinical, metabolic and polygraphic poins of view. In 235 of the 350 de patients we found OSAHS. Of the 235 patients with OSAHS, 140 (60%) meet the criteria for MS, versus 29% of the group withut OSAHS (OR = 3.608, CI = 2.1787 - 5.975). Patients with OSAHS were older, more obese, more sedentary, sleepier and presented higher cholesterol values both total cholesterol and HDL fraction, higher tryglicerides values, higher blood sugar values and blood pressure values than patients without OSAHS. The prevalence of the MS in OSAHS patients is 60%, similar to what whas reported and higher by 31% than in the non OSAHS group. Certain components and associated conditions are characteristically linked to OSAHS.

Abstract:
Introduction: Adolescent are very interested in gadgets that make it easier for them to carry out various social activities. One of the problems that can arise from gadget overuse is decreased quality of sleep. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between gadget usage behavior and adolescent sleep quality. Methods: Cross-sectional design was used in this study. Ninety-nine respondents had chosen with a proportionate stratified random sampling. Analysis was done by Chi square test. Results: Data analysis showed that 84.8% of the respondents were categorized as gadget addiction and 80.8% of the respondents experienced poor sleep quality. The relationship between gadget usage and sleep quality was significant with a p-value of 0.0001. Conclusion: There was a relationship between gadget usage and sleep quality in adolescents, in which gadget dependency had poorer quality of sleep.
