AbstractHomosexuality in Slovakia is covered in a veil of secrecy. With constant attacks by the Catholic Church and populist, traditionalist politicians, it is barely visible in society and politics, unless when discursively attacked. Similarly, homosexuality in Slovakia has failed to become a topic in the contemporary academia, with the exception of a few local works. This article, aiming to fill that gap, confronts a selection of online narratives of Slovak homosexuals via Qualitative Data Analysis through the qualitative tool, QDA Miner, including narrative analysis. The present study is based on the methodological foundations of comparative textbook analysis as it is typologized by Wiater (2003), and it focuses on one specific segment (the Holocaust), examining how oral history, personal narratives and relevant digital online content appear in teaching history. Our paper presents a microlevel analysis, specifically addressing textbook content, an approach fundamentally rooted in educational sociology. By contrast, this paper examines the previously unexplored face of infidelity – namely, the subjectively perceived positive effects. One hundred and four participants from Slovakia in emerging and/or young adulthood shared their relationship history through semi-structured interviews (transcribed verbatim). Sixty-nine of these were self-moderated in written form. The same topics were covered in the two types of interview. Using a categorical-content analysis method, four

Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale (1985) has recently returned to the spotlight with the success of its TV adaptation and with her decision to deliver a sequel. Whilst the inspiration for The Handmaid’s Tale came from the rise of Christian fundamentalism, it is obvious from Atwood’s more recent statements that she considers the Trump era “a rollback of women’s rights” (2018). Abstract:
This chapter explores an inversion of the feminist slogan “the personal is political” to think about the ways in which the political may be articulated in the construction of personal narratives. In South Africa, narratives of the apartheid past are employed in the construction and interpretation of the present social world, telling a national narrative of resistance and overcoming despite the perpetuation of deeply intransigent inequalities in the present. This repertoire of stories has limited power for social change and exists alongside an injunction to forget or erase the past. The chapter explores this tension between remembering and forgetting in shaping our collective narrative unconscious and how this historical legacy may be reworked in the projection of future (hopeful) narratives of young people. The chapter explores the implications of this particular context of intergenerational tension and change for questions of personal and political transformation across the global terrain.

Abstract:
Brands are communication-based strategies where consumer expectations confront with company values, goals and promises. Developing successful branding strategies enables strengthened personal bonds with target groups. Stories have always captivated people and a company can tell its own story to reflect the brand value and the company vision. In the current social media era, narrative advertising has become a favorite tool of communication in reaching the target groups as a persuasion technique by making the audience feel involved and be part of the stories. In this context, collective tendencies are adapted to be the hosting medium for the slogan of the brand or any related information regarding the branding strategies. On the other hand, collective inertia, which develops as a side effect of these cultural tendencies, allows the new approaches as a source of interest if and only if they pass the high threshold. In these circumstances, narrative advertising is one of the most appropriate methods that can be used for a successful marketing strategy to overcome the inertia resistance.

Abstract:
The research analyses the process of modernization of Greece which was closely linked to nationalism during the period from 1910 to 1932. After the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913 the Greek state, the territory and population of which grew twice, needed changes. The changes in Greek society took place due to reforms conducted by the administrations of liberals led by the well-known Greek politician E. Venizelos. The modernization announced under the slogan of revival of Great Greece was determined to transform Greece into a modern and developed European state. It included political, military, agrarian, tax and educational reforms, industrialization of the country and adoption of labour legislation. The national idea appeared to be extremely effective in terms of unifying the society during the reformation period. Nationalism as one of the elements of traditionalism was what became the ideology during the period of transfer from traditional to modern society. The mutual influence of modernization and nationalism, as well as the reasons for incompleteness of liberal reforms in Greece, are considered in the paper.
