The construction industry in Sweden has in the past 50 years had a low progress in efficiency. With a greater competition from construction firms from other countries, it is necessary to maintain the profit for Swedish construction firms. This is possible with a higher feedback of experience. This diploma work thesis examines how the two construction companies NCC and Skanska in Uppsala, Sweden handle experience feedback from previous projects and the extent to which the experience is spread and used in future projects. In this work, we examined directorial documents to see how employees shall work with feedback. Written protocols and reports were analyzed to see the extent to which employees comply with established guidelines. Finally, interviews have been conducted with project managers to get their opinions of how work experience feedback is performed. The conclusions of this diploma work are that employees in both NCC and Skanska comply in varying degrees with the established guidelines due to ignorance. We have also concluded that protocols of meetings and written reports are distributed in a low extent as well as the lack of collecting and store them in a central database. If experience feedback would occur to the extent which is desirable, it would leadto a reduced risk of errors during production, which eventually leads to reducedproduction costs.

Books and reading are important elements in cultural policy. On 1 January 2002 VAT on books and magazines was reduced from 25 per cent to 6 per cent. The purpose was to increase reading in all sections of the population. A special Book Price Commission was appointed to follow and examine price trends and to work for an enhancement of reading in all groups of the Swedish population. But what form of reading are the BPC talking about?With a theoretical point of departure in the theory of power and discourse by Michel Foucault the aim of this thesis is to explore if there is an existing discourse about reading and, if so, how this discourse is operating in the BPC reports. A chapter on the history of reading is also included. When studying how the history of reading is described and then analyzing the material that was published by the Book Price Commission under the years of 2002-2005 it becomes clear that the discourse of reading includes certain forms of reading and excludes (or devalues) other forms of reading. One way that the discourse is operating in is by connecting the concept of reading with values like democracy and both personal and social change. The BPC material can thus be seen as producing and reproducing the dominating discourse of reading, one form of reading that values the reading of printed books higher than other forms of reading.<br>Uppsatsnivå: D

Visionen med tunnelbygget i Hallandsåsen var att det skulle generera vinster på olika plan, men det kom mer att handla om snabba problemlösningar som inte alls blev tidseffektiva. Tunnelkommissionen analyserade problemen och släppte en slutrapport där lösningar föreslagits. Syftet med denna uppsats är att sammanfatta kritisk realism som en vetenskapsteori vars ontologiska och epistemologiska grunder skiljer sig från andra och som därmed behandlar teoretiska och praktiska aspekter annorlunda inom forskning. Därefter ska kritisk-realistiska angreppssätt analyseras i relation till Tunnelkommissionens slutrapport för att sedan kunna se om någon av dem reflekterar svagheter eller styrkor i olika anseenden. Resultatet av undersökningen visade att Tunnelkommissionen har svagheter i deras ställningstagande mot förståelser av grundläggande faktorer och endast finner lösningar som ur ett kritisk-realistiskt perspektiv skulle anses vara temporära. Kritisk realism däremot har svagheter i den bemärkelsen att det är svårt att komma fram med specifika tillvägagångssätt som reflekterar deras ontologiska och epistemologiska grunder i praktiken. Däremot visar denna undersökning att kritisk realism också förmedlar nya insikter inom forskning genom att förmedla nya grundläggande ställningstaganden.

Uppsalahem är Uppsalas största fastighetsbolag och arbetar aktivt med energifrågor. Ett steg i deras miljöarbete är att implementera mer förnybar energi i sitt fastighetsbestånd. Målet med detta projekt är att ta fram rutiner som underlättar för fastighetsägare vid utredning och installation av lokal förnybar el- och värmeproduktion samt energilagring. Arbetet har utförts i projektform med tidssatta delmål. Projektet har resulterat i en manual som inkluderar rutindokument för nybyggnation, förnyelse respektive renovering. Rutindokumenten är tänkta att läsas fristående från manualen för att enkelt kunna användas i fastighetsägarens fortlöpande arbete. Rutindokumenten innehåller en kortfattad introduktion till energiteknikerna samt vilka tekniker och kombinationsmöjligheter som bör utredas. Dessutom ingår regler och krav för varje teknik samt vad som ska beaktas vid kontakt med konsult. I manualen finns fördjupad information om teknikerna och implementeringsprocessen. För att bidra med ett illustrativt exempel på en utredning av några av de energitekniker som rekommenderas i manualen utfördes simuleringar i Matlabs simuleringsprogram Simulink. Simuleringar har genomförts på utvalda fastigheter inom Uppsalahems fastighetsbestånd i form av ett nybyggnationsobjekt och ett förnyelseobjekt. Dessutom har simuleringar i något större skala gjorts på ett fiktivt bostadsområde. Simuleringarna med tillhörande kostnadsanalyser utfördes i enlighet med manualen och dess rekommendationer. Utifrån simuleringsresultaten kunde ett antal kvalitativa slutsatser dras, exempelvis framgick tydligt sambandet att täckning av en högre andel av fastighetens energibehov medförde en större överproduktion som inte kunde utnyttjas i byggnaden. Simuleringarna innehåller förenklingar men bedöms ändå visa att manualens rekommenderade energitekniker har potential att vara lönsamma i fastigheter.En faktor som i dagsläget bromsar implementeringen av förnybar energi i flerbostadshus är att det finns ett behov av ökad kunskap och utarbetade rutiner hos fastighetsägare. Genom att bidra med rekommendationer av lämpliga tekniker samt rutiner för upphandling och kontakt med konsult, kan manualen bidra med att underlätta och påskynda införande av förnybar energiteknik i fastighetsbeståndet.<br>Uppsalahem is the largest real estate company in Uppsala and they work actively with energy issues. One part of their environmental work is to implement more renewable energy in their properties. The target with this project is to facilitate investigation and installation of local renewable electrical and heat production and energy storage.The project has resulted in a manual which includes routine documents for new construction, renovation and total renovation. The routine documents can be read independent and includes a short introduction to the energy techniques and combination possibilities between them. It also includes the most important rules for each technique and what to take into account when handling with a consultant. More information about the techniques and the implementation process is found in the manual. To evaluate the function of the manual, a simulation model has been developed. Simulations have been made at selected properties and energy techniques among Uppsalahems housing. To estimate the viability of the simulated systems, a cost analysis has been made.Simulations in Simulink were performed to investigate some of the techniques recommended by the manual. The simulations have been made on selected properties, one new construction and one renovation project. Simulations have also been made on a fictitious enlarged residential area. Cost analysis and simulations were performed according to the manual and its recommendations. A number of conclusions can be made from the simulation result. For example, if the system is dimensioned to satisfy a higher amount of the energy requirement of the property, there will be a greater overproduction that cannot be utilized in the property. The simulations contain simplifications but it still shows that the techniques recommended in the manual have potential to be profitable in the property. That real estate companies have insufficient knowledge and routines is one aspect that today delays the implementation of renewable energy in properties. By contributing with recommendations of appropriate techniques and routines for purchase and contact with consultant, the manual can ease implementation of renewable energy techniques in properties.
