Objective. To ensure synergy of high PMAS mobilization and facial tissue mobilization in deep plane by preserving the main lymphatic collectors of lateral surface of the face in combination with effective fixation of SMAS flap to deep temporal fascia. Material and methods. A feature of original method is zigzag cutting of SMAS with further mobilization towards modiolus, lifting and fixation to deep temporal fascia. Ther were 35 patients after this surgery. In this case, the main lymphatic drainage pathways of lateral surface of the face remain intact. This is a predictor of fast rehabilitation

With the rapid development of the aerospace industry, more stringent new requirements have been put forward for new materials. A large number of intelligent materials have emerged. The most noteworthy among them are shape memory alloys (SMAs). Therefore, the number of SMAs used for aerospace research has increased significantly. It is very necessary to analyze these works. This article focuses a specific kind of active materials called SMAs, especially for the applications of this material in the aerospace field. SMAs are able to ‘memorise’ or restore their previous form when facing thermal, t

Facial rhytidectomy is a rejuvenative surgical procedure designed to improve the aging changes in the lower third of the face and neck. It can significantly improve jowling, the jaw line, and the portion of the neck from the hyoid bone to the jaw line (the cervicomental angle). It is less successful at improving the midface or nasolabial folds. Rhytidectomy optimizes the age-appropriate aesthetic but does not stop the normal aging progression after surgery. While a wellperformed rhytidectomy is extremely gratifying for both patient and surgeon, it is elective and invasive, with prolonged rehab

Abstract The focus of this research is modeling, simulation and prototyping of multi-locomotion bio-inspired robot. The actuation is based on shape memory alloys (SMAs) smart materials to achieve different styles of movements. Soft-bodied robots have potential to exploit morphological computation to adapt and interact with reduced control complexity. Observing the movement of a caterpillar that could produce different locomotion such as crawling and rolling, our team designed and developed a bio-inspired robot. Analytical models of the different bio-inspired movements are derived and analyzed

Abstract Conventional transport aircraft operate under transonic conditions in which the transonic shock leads to an increase in wave drag. Shock control bumps (SCBs) can mitigate the shock strength, leading to reduced drag. Preceding studies show the applicability of adaptive SCBs on morphing spoilers. However, with increasing airflow velocities the shock moves downstream, making it structurally challenging to realize sufficient curvature on the rear spoiler end. In this study, a morphing spoiler is structurally designed to form an adaptive SCB utilizing a shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator. A
