Abstract:
An increase the operating temperature range of structural elements and aircraft assemblies is one of the main goals in developing advanced and new models of aerospace equipment to improve their technical characteristics. The most heat-loaded aircraft structures, such as a combustion chamber, high-pressure turbine segments, nozzle flaps with a controlled thrust vector, must have a long service life under conditions of high temperatures, an oxidizing environment, fuel combustion products, and variable mechanical and thermal loads. At the same time, modern Ti and Ni-based superalloys have reached

Abstract Background: Despite significant improvements in the treatment of breast cancer (BC), metastatic disease remains the principal cause of BC-related death. Through analysis of rapid autopsy collected biospecimens, we have previously identified Split Ends (SPEN) alterations in patients with metastatic HR+/HER2- BC (Savas et al. 2016). The role of SPEN in BC is poorly defined. Here we aimed to further explore the function of this gene in metastatic HR+/HER2- metastatic BC (mBC). Methods: We explored the clinical and genomic characteristics of SPEN altered mBC in human sequencing datasets.

Contemporary culinary discourse in Australia has been dominated by the notion that migration and the increased mobility of Australians is responsible for filling a culinary void, as though, because we have had no peasantry we have no affinity with either the land or its produce. This argument serves to alienate Australians of British descent and its validity is open to questioning. It's an argument in urgent need of debate because cuisine stands out as the signifier of a 'multicultural' nation. Despite all the political posturing, food has 'long been the acceptable face of multiculturalism' (G

During the 1970’s General Electric of the United States and Societe Nationale d’Etude et de Construction de Moteurs d’Aviation (SNECMA) of France took advantage of a unique market opportunity to develop a modern, fuel efficient, quiet turbofan engine in the 20000 to 25000# thrust class. Both companies had confidence that there would be a significant demand for such an engine to warrant the large total investment of both money and resources.

Abstract:
The present paper describes the aerodynamic design and the test result analysis of a three-stage research compressor designed by Snecma Moteurs and tested at Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France. Firstly, the CREATE compressor, representative of the median or rear stages of modern high-pressure compressors, is presented. Particular emphasis is put on the CFD process employed in its design, which was based largely on three-dimensional Navier-Stokes multistage simulations. A brief description of the stage-by-stage matching achieved on the compressor is also presented. Test results available from trave

In this work, unsteady numerical results and high-frequency measurements are investigated from nominal to loaded operating points with the objective to contribute to the understanding of pre-stall rotating disturbances. A 3.5 stages high speed axial multistage compressor is investigated on a 2 MW test rig in the laboratory of fluid mechanics (LMFA) at Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France. The compressor has been built by Snecma, and is representative of modern high-pressure rear blocks of a modern aircraft engine. The unsteady numerical results predict a rotating disturbance in the tip flow field of
