Abstract:
With the rapid development of information technology, the growth of heterogeneous Web data and the requirements of access to the Web of data also is growing. In view of this, a method of heterogeneous data integration based on SOA(Service-Oriented Architecture) is proposed. This method combines the technology of middleware and SOA design, using XML and Web services technologies, presents a framework of heterogeneous data integration based on SOA, and introduces the architecture of SOA data integration middleware. Experimental results show that this method reduces the coupling of heterogeneous data integration system effectively, and improves the scalability of the system.

Abstract:
Aiming at the shortcomings of the modeling analysis of traditional Feature-Oriented Analysis Approach under service oriented architecture SOA, and providing more reusability and flexibility to the development of SOA system, this paper makes an improvement on Feature-Oriented Analysis Approach. It introduces the concept of service feature and improves the refinement and interaction description of feature models. On the basis of this, it proposes a method of domain analysis in SOA. In addition, in view of the fact that web services act as a technology available to implement SOA, it presents a method to transform feature model into interface model and composite model of web services. Finally, this method's application in ERP system project in publishing is verified as an example to show that it is feasible to improve software development efficiency.

Abstract:
This article presents a direct current (DC) motor control approach using a hybrid Seagull Optimization Algorithm (SOA) and Neural Network (NN) method. SOA method is a nature-inspired algorithm. DC motor speed control is very important to maintain the stability of motor operation. The SOA method is an algorithm that duplicates the life of the seagull in nature. Neural network algorithms will be improved using the SOA method. The neural network used in this study is a feed-forward neural network (FFNN). This research will focus on controlling DC motor speed. The efficacy of the proposed method is compared with the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) method, the Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN), and the Cascade Forward Backpropagation Neural Network (CFBNN). From the results of the study, the proposed control method has good capabilities compared to standard neural methods, namely FFNN and CFBNN. Integral Time Absolute Error and Square Error (ITAE and ITSE) values from the proposed method are on average of 0.96% and 0.2% better than the FFNN and CFBNN methods.

Abstract:
Abstract. Organic aerosol (OA) represents a significant and often major fraction of the non-refractory PM1 (particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter da < 1 μm) mass. Secondary organic aerosol (SOA) is an important contributor to the OA and can be formed from biogenic and anthropogenic precursors. Here we present results from the characterization of SOA produced from the emissions of three different anthropogenic sources. SOA from a log wood burner, a Euro 2 diesel car and a two-stroke Euro 2 scooter were characterized with an Aerodyne high-resolution time-of-flight aerosol mass spectrometer (HR-TOF-AMS) and compared to SOA from α-pinene. The emissions were sampled from the chimney/tailpipe by a heated inlet system and filtered before injection into a smog chamber. The gas phase emissions were irradiated by xenon arc lamps to initiate photo-chemistry which led to nucleation and subsequent particle growth by SOA production. Duplicate experiments were performed for each SOA type, with the averaged organic mass spectra in the m/z range 12–250 showing Pearson's r values >0.94 for the correlations between the different SOA types after 5 h of aging. High-resolution mass spectra (HR-MS) showed that the dominant peaks in the MS, m/z 43 and 44, are dominated by the oxygenated ions C2H3O+ and CO2+, respectively, similarly to the relatively fresh semi-volatile oxidized OA (SV-OOA) observed in the ambient aerosol. The atomic O : C ratios were found to be in the range of 0.25–0.55 with no major increase during the first 5 h of aging. On average, the diesel SOA showed the lowest O : C ratio followed by SOA from wood burning, α-pinene and the scooter emissions. Grouping the fragment ions based on their carbon number revealed that the SOA source with the highest O : C ratio had the largest fraction of small ions. Fragment ions containing up to 3 carbon atoms accounted for 66%, 68%, 72% and 76% of the organic spectrum of the SOA produced by the diesel car, wood burner, α-pinene and the scooter, respectively. The HR data of the four sources could be clustered and separated using principal component analysis (PCA). The model showed a significant separation of the four SOA types and clustering of the duplicate experiments on the first two principal components (PCs), which explained 79% of the total variance. Projection of ambient SV-OOA spectra resolved by positive matrix factorization (PMF) showed that this approach could be useful to identify large contributions of the tested SOA sources to SV-OOA. The first results from this study indicate that the SV-OOA in Barcelona is strongly influenced by diesel emissions in winter while in summer at SIRTA at the southwestern edge of Paris SV-OOA is more similar to alpha-pinene SOA. However, contributions to the ambient SV-OOA from SOA sources that are not covered by the model can cause major interference and therefore future expansions of the PCA model with additional SOA sources is recommended.

SOA-based systems o er high degree of exibility and interoperabil- ity. However, the securing of SOA-based applications is still a challenge. Although some related techniques have been proposed and presented in academia and industry, it is still dicult to check SOA quality in security aspect from an architecture view. In this thesis project, a method for security analysis in SOA is intro- duced and investigated. The method intends to be used for analyzing security of SOA-based systems on architecture level. To demonstrate the method, a prototype supporting the method is introduced and imple- mented. And the method and prototype are also evaluated respectively based on Technology Acceptance Model. The evaluation result shows that the prototype supporting the method is a promising inspection tool to detect software vulnerability.

Abstract:
In the new economic environment enterprises must achieve both interoperability and agility. In this thesis the main research question is the following: How to design a service oriented architecture methodology driven by business to support inter-organizational collaboration? To overcome the conceptual and technological barriers of interoperability. We propose a top-down model driven method based on BPM and SOA principles to ensure collaboration efficiency and effectiveness. The proposed method explains how to identify, specify and implement collaborative processes and collaborative public services. In the proposed method business processes ensure interoperability at the business level, while reusable services, standards and SOA platform support interoperability at the IT level

Abstract:
As amostras vítreas contendo selênio apresentaram coloração rosa. Its highly volatile characteristic during the glass melting, which causes losses around 80%, has been discussed for a long time. Meanwhile, alternatives have been searched to increase the yield of selenium. Microencapsulation of the selenium by sol-gel processing may be considered for new studies. This work presents an investigation, in laboratory scale, of the selenium yield in two model soda-lime glass compositions. Different sources of selenium (Se0, ZnSeO3, Na2SeO3) were used, which were incorporated into a silica rich material, containing the selenium source, by sol-gel method. The glass samples were obtained by melting the raw-materials at 1350°C in high alumina crucibles, and showed different grades of pink coloration. Chemical analysis results showed that the incorporation of selenium was higher in the glass containing higher concentration of alkaline elements. In terms of selenium source, the best yield (lowest loss of selenium) was 34 wt%, obtained with SG3 (synthesized material by sol-gel method) as the selenium source. The optical absorption curves presented three main absorption bands: 380 nm (Fe3+), 500 nm (Se0/Se2-) and 720 nm (Fe2+). The samples obtained by sol-gel were amorphous, acquired a strong reddish coloration with time, and indicated potential characteristics for application as a humidity sensor.

Abstract:
Vzorky HAP byly podrobeny analýze FTIR, XRD, SEM. Takto připravený HAP byl napěněn pomocí houbové metody s jasně definovanými póry a pomocí polymerního a skleněného expanzelu s různou distribucí a velikostí pórů. U výsledných napěněných vzorků byla vyhodnocena mikrostruktura a povrchová analýza pomocí SEM, zjištěna porozita pomocí Hg porozimetru a sledována bioaktivita in vitro v SBF. Byly zjištěny jasně definované makro, mezo a mikro póry při různé distribuci. U houbové metody pomocí sol-gel došlo k vytvoření jasně definovaných a pravidelných pórů s monodisperzní porozitou.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has some unique properties such as high hydrophobicity and high resistance to elevated temperatures, chemicals and solvents, which make it of interest for numerous fibre and textile applications. However, PTFE normally has a very high viscosity and poor flowability in the melt due to its ultra-high molecular weight, meaning that it cannot be readily melt-spun into textile fibres. In addition, PTFE is insoluble in all common organic solvents, prohibiting its use in common solution spinning methods such as dry, wet or electrospinning. Here we aim to develop an easy and environmentally friendly alternative for the production of PTFE nanofibres, using a modified island-in-the-sea spinning process. For this, first a dispersion of PTFE homopolymer, PVA and water was compounded to create a blend of PTFE particles in PVA solution using different methods, including casting, single-step extrusion and two-step-compounding and extrusion. After solid-state drawing of this blend and removal of the PVA, we were able to collect PTFE nanofibres with finest diameters of around 50nm and lengths up to 15μm. The effects of blend composition, morphology and drawing on PTFE fibre formation and properties were studied and discussed. Furthermore, some other material modification systems, including plasticized PVA, or the use ethylene glycol as a solvent, was studied with the aim of scaling up the fabrication of PTFE nanofibres by spinning the PTFE/PVA blend fibres directly for a twin-screw extruder.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The problem of real-time simulation of ocean surface waves, ship movement and the coupling in between is tackled, and a number of different methods are covered and discussed. Among these methods, the finite volume method has been implemented in an attempt to solve the problem, along with the compressible Euler equations, an octree based staggered grid which allows for easy adaptive mesh refinement, the volume of fluid method and a variant of the Hyper-C advection scheme for compressible flows for advection of the phase fraction field. The process of implementing the methods that were chosen proved to be tricky in many ways, as they involve a large number of advanced topics, and the implementation that was implemented in this thesis work suffered from numerous issues. There were for example problems with keeping the interface intact, as well as a harsh restriction on the time step size due to the CFL condition. Improvements required to make the method sustainable for real-time applications are discussed, and a few suggestions on alternative approaches that are already in use for similar purposes are also given and discussed. Furthermore, a method for compensating for gain/loss of mass when solving the incompressible flow equations with an inaccurately solved pressure Poisson equation is presented and discussed. A momentum conservative method for transporting the velocity field on staggered grids without introducing unnecessary smearing is also presented and implemented. A simple, physically based illumination model for sea surfaces is derived, discussed and compared to the Blinn–Phong shading model, although it is never implemented. Finally, a two-dimensional partial differential equation in the spatial domain for simulating water surface waves for mildly varying bottom topography is derived and discussed, although it is deemed to be too slow for real-time purposes and is therefore never implemented.<br><p>This publication differs from the printed version of the report in the sense that links are blue in this version and black in the printed version.</p>

Abstract:
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and agile methods share common drivers. However, there is a lack of guidelines a SOA team should pursue in order to develop services considering best practices, acceptance tests, distributed teams, contract refactoring, among other issues related to SOA principles and agile practices. This work presents a new method that addresses team concerns and needs aiming at a systematic approach for service development using XP's agile practices and SOA principles. We provide best practices, phases and activities that specifically address XP's core practices and service-oriented best practices. We also provide an example of our proposal in order to demonstrate its applicability.

Carney, Nancy, Tamara Cheney, Annette M. Totten, et al. Prehospital Airway Management: A Systematic Review. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.23970/ahrqepccer243.

Full text
Abstract:
Objective. To assess the comparative benefits and harms across three airway management approaches (bag valve mask [BVM], supraglottic airway [SGA], and endotracheal intubation [ETI]) by emergency medical services in the prehospital setting, and how the benefits and harms differ based on patient characteristics, techniques, and devices. Data sources. We searched electronic citation databases (Ovid® MEDLINE®, CINAHL®, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Scopus®) from 1990 to September 2020 and reference lists, and posted a Federal Register notice request for data. Review methods. Review methods followed Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Evidence-based Practice Center Program methods guidance. Using pre-established criteria, studies were selected and dual reviewed, data were abstracted, and studies were evaluated for risk of bias. Meta-analyses using profile-likelihood random effects models were conducted when data were available from studies reporting on similar outcomes, with analyses stratified by study design, emergency type, and age. We qualitatively synthesized results when meta-analysis was not indicated. Strength of evidence (SOE) was assessed for primary outcomes (survival, neurological function, return of spontaneous circulation [ROSC], and successful advanced airway insertion [for SGA and ETI only]). Results. We included 99 studies (22 randomized controlled trials and 77 observational studies) involving 630,397 patients. Overall, we found few differences in primary outcomes when airway management approaches were compared. • For survival, there was moderate SOE for findings of no difference for BVM versus ETI in adult and mixed-age cardiac arrest patients. There was low SOE for no difference in these patients for BVM versus SGA and SGA versus ETI. There was low SOE for all three comparisons in pediatric cardiac arrest patients, and low SOE in adult trauma patients when BVM was compared with ETI. • For neurological function, there was moderate SOE for no difference for BVM compared with ETI in adults with cardiac arrest. There was low SOE for no difference in pediatric cardiac arrest for BVM versus ETI and SGA versus ETI. In adults with cardiac arrest, neurological function was better for BVM and ETI compared with SGA (both low SOE). • ROSC was applicable only in cardiac arrest. For adults, there was low SOE that ROSC was more frequent with SGA compared with ETI, and no difference for BVM versus SGA or BVM versus ETI. In pediatric patients there was low SOE of no difference for BVM versus ETI and SGA versus ETI. • For successful advanced airway insertion, low SOE supported better first-pass success with SGA in adult and pediatric cardiac arrest patients and adult patients in studies that mixed emergency types. Low SOE also supported no difference for first-pass success in adult medical patients. For overall success, there was moderate SOE of no difference for adults with cardiac arrest, medical, and mixed emergency types. • While harms were not always measured or reported, moderate SOE supported all available findings. There were no differences in harms for BVM versus SGA or ETI. When SGA was compared with ETI, there were no differences for aspiration, oral/airway trauma, and regurgitation; SGA was better for multiple insertion attempts; and ETI was better for inadequate ventilation. Conclusions. The most common findings, across emergency types and age groups, were of no differences in primary outcomes when prehospital airway management approaches were compared. As most of the included studies were observational, these findings may reflect study design and methodological limitations. Due to the dynamic nature of the prehospital environment, the results are susceptible to indication and survival biases as well as confounding; however, the current evidence does not favor more invasive airway approaches. No conclusion was supported by high SOE for any comparison and patient group. This supports the need for high-quality randomized controlled trials designed to account for the variability and dynamic nature of prehospital airway management to advance and inform clinical practice as well as emergency medical services education and policy, and to improve patient-centered outcomes.

Abstract:
The I SEA project aimed at the development of a non-obtrusive, valid and replicable method to evaluate audience attitudes about science communication projects through an immersive virtual reality environment that can improve exhibitions while educating and empowering citizens. To achieve the objectives of this highly complex, highly interdisciplinary, and innovative project, a permanent articulation of the scientific approach with the technical and design development took place, aiming the construction of the non- invasive evaluation method. Because it is an intricate project, it required constant iterations and interactions among the team members. So, we’ve learned somehow to consider limitations as engines for developing the project, instead of seeing them as obstacles.

Full text
Abstract:
Social Network Analysis (SNA) is a promising yet underutilized tool in the international development field. SNA entails collecting and analyzing data to characterize and visualize social networks, where nodes represent network members and edges connecting nodes represent relationships or exchanges among them. SNA can help both researchers and practitioners understand the social, political, and economic relational dynamics at the heart of international development programming. It can inform program design, monitoring, and evaluation to answer questions related to where people get information; with whom goods and services are exchanged; who people value, trust, or respect; who has power and influence and who is excluded; and how these dynamics change over time. This brief advances the case for use of SNA in international development, outlines general approaches, and discusses two recently conducted case studies that illustrate its potential. It concludes with recommendations for how to increase SNA use in international development.
