Abstract:
Is a social complex identical to many united people or is it a group entity in addition to the people? For specificity, I will assume that a social complex is a plural subject in Margaret Gilbert’s sense. By appeal to my theory of Aspects, according to which there can be qualitative difference without numerical difference, I give an answer that is a middle way between metaphysical individualism and metaphysical holism. This answer will enable answers to two additional metaphysical questions: (i) how can two social complexes have all the same members and (ii) how can there be a social complex of social complexes?

Abstract:
SummaryIn this paper we evaluated the basic viewpoints on the mutual relations between contemporary sport and society. Sport is a global social phenomenon which is determined by a variety of different processes, including: the fast development of the industrial society and capital, an increase in leisure time, the development of a liberal democracy and the media. A special feature in these relations is the overall globalization process in today’s world. The basic structure of this paper is made up of two functional parts. In the first part we indicate the dominant theoretical-methodological paradigms in studying sport in social sciences, especially sociology: functionalism, conflict theory in society, interpretive and postmodern theory. In the second part of the paper we analyze the dialectics of contemporary relations between sport and society, where special attention is dedicated to the distribution of social power between sport, capital and the media at the local and global level. At the local level especially, there is a pronounced influence of politics on sport, which is realized through various mechanisms of government power, as well as other political subjects. The most solid bonds between sport and society on both levels are maintained by capital and the media, which know no boundaries. Through ownership and mechanisms of financing sports clubs and associations, athletes and athletic events, an entire network of capitalist relations in sport was created. Sport has become one of the most important factors of television programs, the internet and social networks, which has led to an enormous growth in profit and popularity of sport, but also to great changes in the social relations between people.

Abstract:
SummaryIn contrast to the research in panic disorder, not much neurobiological studies have been conducted in social phobia. In challenge-tests using lactate or pentagastrin general anxiety and anxiety symptoms were induced in social phobies, although not as frequent is in panic disorder patients, but no specific social phobic anxiety was induced. The role of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and noradrenalin is, as yet, unclear. There are no indications for abnormal hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-axis activity or abnormal hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid-axis activity in social phobia. To the present, preliminary findings in neuroimaging studies show no differences between patients and controls, except a possibly diminished and reversible metabolic activity.

Full text
Abstract:
Any kind of surgery involves risk. Caesarian section is a surgical operation conducted on the abdominal and pelvic zones. Occasionally, a Caesarian section is performed on maternal request, which brings on complications and makes readmission necessary. More frequently, a Caesarian section is recommended when natural delivery might pose a risk to the mother or baby. In these cases, surgery is deemed as the only safe approach to take. However, the choice is not always clear or mandatory, and both the mother and the doctor must consider the advantages and disadvantages of a Caesarian section. In a number of countries, the Caesarian section rate is 33,3% of all births, despite the dissent and warnings voiced by professional obstetrics societies and most top gynecologists.

Abstract:
Areas of research in economics and management science become increasingly close – they overlap and become very similar. New events, new products of people’s actions, new patterns of behaviour arise with a pace unknown before. Institutionalisation of these phenomena aimed at their broad codification also takes on new forms. We live in an age of ubiquitous innovativeness. Naturally, the question arises: should innovations be perceived in the same way as in the past? Are there any new types of innovations that have appeared lately? Are the current definitions of market and social innovations still up to date? The aim of the article is to present a change in approach to innovations over time, with particular focus on their market and social aspects. The author attempts to answer the following questions: how did technological progress visible in the networking of economy influence the understanding of social innovations, what is the role of social production and exchange which replace gradually market exchange, in the social innovation definition, to what extent is the cooperation within a community in the virtual space characteristic of a special class of social innovation? The research method used by the author is based on literature studies on innovations and on the economics of cooperation (access, sharing, co‑use). It comprises an analysis of different concepts of innovation, in particular different definitions of the name, an analysis of different approaches to cooperation economics, comparisons of the obtained results, and conclusions formulation. The approach to innovation changes over time – from a technical, social and market approach to a differently understood today social approach. Contemporary, the criteria for innovation “society” are different. The understanding of innovation is influenced by the increased role of social production and exchange at the expense of market exchange. The networking of the information economy significantly strengthens the social aspect of innovation. Cooperation within a community, including co‑creation of goods, access to them, their co‑use and sharing, is an extreme example of the advantage of the social dimension of innovation over its market aspect.
