The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was designed to reduce the number of citizens who do not have health insurance, and reduce the prices of health insurance premiums. Using multiple regression analysis, the effects of the components of the ACA, along with baseline characteristics of the states, are examined in relation to ACA premium prices and the rate of uninsured. We find that premium prices are higher in states with more uninsured, and states with more obesity have more uninsured. <p> The purpose of this thesis was to present a policy analysis of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000. Specifically, this analysis examined the impact the TVPA had on the victims of sex trafficking. This project utilized David Gil’s (1992) analytic framework to evaluate the strengths and limitations of this policy. This analysis found that there have been some improvements in the prosecution of traffickers as a result of the passage of the TVPA. This study sought to explain how crime victims emerged as a target group in the Swedish Social Services Act in 2001. The findings, derived from legislative documents, a literature review, and focus group interviews with social workers, showed that the 2001 provisions both duplicated and undermined pre-existing provisions of the Social Services Act. The policy analysis examines the Paycheck Fairness Act (PFA), a bill first introduced to Congress in 1963 and defeated on September 15, 2014.
