Full textThe doctoral thesis presents and proposes interpretations of results obtained in experimental investigations centred on a kind of social practices : the practices of social work, and articulated with theoretical framework issued of social cognitive psychology. The main concepts of social cognitive psychology were used : categorization, prototypical construction, implicit personality theories, illusory correlation, systematic distortion, attribution, explanation of reinforcements and psychologization. The analysis of these cognitive processes in social workers's practices did not give opposite results to those obtained when the processes are studied in the conception of "man as scientist". But it was shown that the effects are dependant of other factors. Their importance is due to the kind of people' social implications with analyzed informations. The analysis of results shows that there were normativ and ideological effects of cognitive processes in social work. These results reinforce a socio-cognitive conception of "man as ideologic"

It questions from then on the utility of such policies asking for heavy investments for reserved social results. The re-registration of this problem in its historic development allows to light this paradox: the social policies of struggle against poverty were factors of wealth for the modernity. Far from analyses in term of "crisis", the institutionalization the aforementioned policies testifies of an exponential development, although dynamics, possibilities of economic growth. Full textThis research is aimed at defi ning some guidelines for the Social Sustainability of the “Social Housing Project” as a useful operative instrument for supporting the defi nition of the meta-project, in view to reduce the risk of housing diffi culties of the “grey area” and to satisfy the housing needs produced in recent years by several socio-demographic changes. Access to a quality and affordable price accommodation is a fundamental need and a key factor for the development of a State. In addition, as indicated by the European Parliament and according to the objectives of the new European Agenda 2020, the dwelling demand is strongly tied to social inclusion. In assessing how the housing project is able to mend the emerged disadvantage conditions, the research is focused on the features of the architectural design able to regain the ancient values and customs, looking for innovation and future prospects which may be considered central for the construction of the social dimension. Therefore, the deeping of these tools (Participatory Design, Self-building / Self-restoration / self-maintenance, Cohousing, functional and social mix) is developed through the critical observation of their application (within 20 case studies) and by refl ecting on the principles that the international scientifi c community, with its various disciplinary contributions, has already shared about them. To prevent the condition of housing exclusion is necessary to solve a set of housing diffi culties such as Economic, Physical, Urban, Social and Legal troubles. Therefore, for each social category within the “grey area”, the present study examines the strengths and weaknesses to be faced through the housing design in order to improve or eliminate such housing problems. This thesis assumes that there isn’t a global, unifi ed model, therefore it is proposed rather as a method of investigation and synthesis of the context. Furthermore, it is opened to interdisciplinary considerations extended to further fi elds. What emerged about the housing hardship conditions of the “gray area”, combined with the opportunities and threats engender by the use of the described designing tools, allow to defi ne the Guidelines for the Social Housing Sustainability related to Social Pillar.

Full textHow within the political space created by the "revolution of individualism" and against it, the illusion of a social subject mastering its history, is built up, and how this illusion organizes the space of revolutionary parties. The point of this dissertation is to follow and elucidate the road which-when considering the history of ideas- goes from the invention of politics as an autonomous realm, with the individual as a free subject as its sole founding ground, to the construction of new discourses which, through the mediation of history, restore to society the imaginary coalescence which the revolution of individualism had dissolved. Our hypotheses are the very ones which can be found in Freud’s works, a reference which prompted us to think the relationship of man with himself and the world from the point of view of the drive for death; a reference which also prompted us to measure the effects resulting from the divorce between law and the sacred since man is now taken as the origin of the significations the opacity of which he is caught

Full textThis thesis aims at studying "poverty" as a socially recognized condition and the "poors" as a group of people whose social status is partly defined by specialized social institutions which define them as such. The theme of social disqualification, such as it is dealt with here, is linked to the logic of designation and labelling and to the effects of this logic on the identity of people. This research was meant to show that : 1) the social actors dealt with play a role, at least a partial one, in the constitution and redefinition of their social identity by more or less accepting the social roles which fit their objective social condition and their status; 2) a certain autonomy enables them to individually negociate their inferiority or their social failure (but the "poors" hold always a degraded social position); 3) they establish, sometimes with the help of social workers, sub-hierarchies within the places they live in or within the groups they belong to

The poulation is constituted by urban and rural youngs registered in six different "missions locales" for insertion, in west of france. If they all have a low level of qualification and below to the working classes, they have different school background and degree of insertion. The social space of habitat yields the combination of different independant variables such as socio-professional categories of the parents, school attentance, insertion, geographics moves. The analysis of social and geographic cursus of the families allows to distinguish six types of insertion linked to their global social trajectories. In that sence, we believe that the social space of habitat appears as one of the most important factor of socialization

Full textHow to explain variations in the level of donation in comparable countries? In all industrialized countries, the economic crisis of the 1980s encouraged the search for alternatives to the welfare state by encouraging third sector organizations to play a greater role in a partnership for the definition and implementation of public policies.Among Third sector organizations, philanthropic foundations provide a legal framework that allows people who wish to carry out acts of generosity by allocating a part of their personal wealth in the form of gift, for the purpose of general interest. Giving can be considered as a concrete expression of the cooperation between citizens for the common good. All democratic countries try to promote giving. The conventional explanations of the variation in level of gift among developed countries do not consider the gift as a social fact. We argue that the level of giving can't be explained by the sum of individual gifts that each respond to personal motives but by the state of the society whose cohesion is determined to both by the presence of social capital and the representation of identities.Social capital can be understood as " relationships, networks and norms that facilitate collective action." Social capital refers to relations that individuals establish them in social networks and the norms of reciprocity that arise from these relationships. This thesis is focused, first, on the level of social capital in economically developed countries and secondly on the meaning of the gift as a mode of representation of identity. It helps define social capital theory by highlighting the close relationship that unites the concept of the gift and hence the construction of identities. This analysis of the relationship between gift, identity ans social capital has direct implications for research in the field of civil society. Civil society is presented from two different perspectives. The first perspective, in a North American tradition, determines the Third sector to the sole condition of "non profit" sector. The second perspective, in an European tradition, consider social economy with organizations or enterprises within both profit and non-profit sector. These organizations and entreprises mix in their actions a plurality of economic logics.Based on the analysis of Polanyi on the embedding of the economy and its various forms of integration, associated with the Maussian logic of the gift, we try to shed light on the socio-economic dimension, or political dimension, of social economy. Social economy can be seen as a "gift economy", understood as a plural economy. Finally, the New Economic Sociology offers both an analysis of the reticular economy based on the presence and density of interpersonal ties and a cultural analysis of the economy that connects markets to values. It is possible to understand the social economy as a “social capital economy". Social capital is understood as an organizational factor and a meaning

The analysis of departemental offices shows howver that the relations his with the farmers can be complex. It seems to us there is an evolution in favor of a new organizational model, more rural, thus bringing to an end to the traditional corporate model. On the other hand, at the Parisian level, the leaders try to maintain a corporate logic in order to receive the benefits of comanagement for the farming professions

Full textIn the field of social perception, the way in which human beings work out their representation of groups can be considered from the angle of two theorical fields : categorization of people and social representation of groups. We have studied the links existing between these approaches through two essential concepts : the core and the stereotype. After a theoretical presentation of the two concepts which enables us to understand their similitaries and divergences, we have presented the relations between the concepts of core and stereotype. Our study is organised around three axes. We have started by studying the respective contents in order to check whether the central elements of the representation are identical to the stereotypic elements of categorization. In a second part, we focus on the dynamic properties. Using texts of influence, we have introduced various contradictions so as appreciate their effects on the core and the stereotype. Following divergent results, in a third axis, we carry on our study exploring the underlying processes. This last orientation of the research enabled us to consider prospects for cognitive interpretations of the phenomenon. As a conclusion, we can assert that the results are interpreted in terms of differences in access to memory

Full textThis thesis, linking public policy to state theory, centers upon decision-making in three areas of social welfare: daycare centers for children 0 to 3 years old, child welfare benefits, and funds to assist families who have temporary difficulties paying their rent. The changes in each sphere are analyzed within the global political, economic and social context of France from 1981 to 1986, a period during which the socialists head the government. In light of the decentralization, a major reform adopted in March 1982, modifying the roles of central authorities and of local officials, the various policy decisions are studied at the national level and in one "departement" (one of the 95 main administrative divisions of metropolitan France), Seine Saint-Denis, where the communist party holds power. 3 due primarily to the economic and social crisis, to the liberal offensive, and to the very nature of the governing process, the initial objectives of the left are revised and lowered with significant budgetary restrictions. The effects are felt in all three policy areas, but there persists a continual effort to promote new forms of social action and to fight against poverty
Terravecchia, G. P. "Il legame sociale."

Full textThis thesis examines subjective inequality in Chile over time. With the return of democracy (1990), the country experienced a sustained economic growth which allowed it to reduce poverty levels and increase education rates. At the same time, together with the development of a series of social policies, since 2000 the economic concentration of the country, historically ranked among the highest in the world, has begun to diminish. However, as wellbeing levels increased and inequalities diminished, a series of social demonstrations began to take place, among them those led by the student movement in 2006 and 2011, considered the largest that the country has experienced since the end of the dictatorship. This diagnosis grouped by all these demonstrations pointed to the problem of social inequalities as a brake on the country’s’ development. The high citizen support of these demonstrations had an impact on the configuration of political agendas of all sectors, and led public debate to focus on the question of whether the principles of justice, where Chilean society had sustained its social pact after the dictatorship, had changed. Were transformations in wellbeing conditions linked to a criticism of the market logic that had legitimized high inequalities since the period of neoliberal reforms promoted in the 1980s?The thesis answers this question from the perspective of individuals, asking how stable or fluid representations of inequality, as well as its determinants, are over time. From the analysis of a set of quantitative data (surveys ISSP 1999, ISSP 2009, SJCP 2013 and COES 2014) and qualitative data (40 semi-directed interviews), it is established that representations of inequality can be apprehended through three dimensions - perceptions, beliefs and preferences - which are influenced by factors that operate at two levels: the social position and the personal experience of individuals. The results of the study show that representations changed over time, but with varying intensity depending on the dimension analyzed. And by considering the determinants, on the one hand, results show that the social position of individuals, especially with regards to educational level, is a strong predictor of representations of inequality. Following the transformations in the social structure of Chile, individuals of lower social status present more significant changes in the representations of inequality. On the other hand, in terms of personal experience, it is observed that changes in the sociopolitical context strongly influence representations, as well as the evaluation of structural transformations on individuals' lives. Regardless of social status, individuals' assessments of inequality are strongly anchored in comparing different moments of their own biographies, even stronger than when they represent inequality through a comparison with other people or social groups

Based on an empirical study, realised from 2014 and 2018, within a County Council, it reports on different processes : formalization of the question, development and implementation of concrete actions. This institutionnalisation is observed in regards to the changes it provides, within the organisation and among its partners. These changes concern work organisation of the institution, professional practices of public officials, social devices, and organising the local partners network. The perspective of the analysis also reports on local social action transformations

Full textOur purpose is to describe, to interpret and to explain the proper logic of the ways of using the dispositions of the welfare state. The description is made through an original way which consists in the study of eighteen particular cases. They have led us to define, under the "idealtypus" patterns, three strategies of utilization : the strategy of dependance, the strategy of subjection and the waiting strategy. The interpretation is led in terms of acquisition of a social status, the status of a person who receives state relief. We will admit that a form of social identity is elaborated around to poles which represent the singular presence of misfortune and the right of not working. Finally the explanation needs the constuction of a pattern of a social situation which specifies the families supported by the welfare state. But it is by giving all its importance to their system of preferences that the rationality of the strategies of utilization will be taken. .

A theory of historicity as a succession of constraint (of objective determinisms upon subjective habituses and projects) and production (understood as provocation of the powers of nature, by generalizing heidegger's concept of technique). . Phenomenological elucidation of intersubjectivity and of collective signification process, on the basis of incarnate subjectivity. Hence a theory of scene (cf nakamura yujiro) as structured space of interaction; of rituality as constitutive of social life (cf classical chinese philosophy) ; of social action as ceremonies: gestures in common on a collective scene. . A socio-psychoanalysis of production of subjectivity forms : the basic elements of the unconscious are inscribed as marks of pleasure or anxiety (i. E. Letters, cf s. Leclaire) by social relations such as mothering or initiation rituals. . A theory of generalized economy of social practive (cf bourdieu) grounded upon desire economy. . A theory of belief and illusion based upon the concepts of fantasy object and of projection. Hence a psychoanalytical complement to the marxian theory of fetishism. And a theory of religion. . A theory of the building of collective identities through "conseduction" work

Full textThe purpose of this research is to provide a detailed description of how social workers reach a decision with regard to the need to provide help. The work is of particular interest for admissions in Centres for Emergency Housing and Social Reintegration. In fact, faced with an increasing demand for housing, social workers in this field are forced to choose from among several candidates. However, the criteria defined by law are far from being sufficient to determine an order of priority. The first three parts discuss the theoretical framework and enable the main hypotheses to be set out. The other three parts are devoted to the presentation of the results of three empirical inquiries conducted with social workers in Centres for Emergency Housing and Social Reintegration, and with students in social work. The research explains the admission criteria used by social workers to determine the need to provide housing for a person in a reintegration centre. It prioritises these criteria and shows that some of them, defined by law, are less important than intra-subjective information. The research determines whether professional training plays a role in or acts as a curb on this phenomenon. This thesis provides an understanding of how social workers unconsciously participate in the development of systems which give priority to helping those persons in the target population who are least in need of help

Full textFrom its origin the former structure of a social background was basically constitued on a solidarity of neighbourhood. The communal center of social action comes from this human event and it appears as an up-to-date sign of something that exist no more. The communal center of social action presents itself since both the decentralization and the pertaining l aw taken in 1986 as an organisation which comes up-to-date in term of juridical settlement through a wide heteregenous legislation. The own effects of this legislation taken altogether make a reform as important as the one which, in 1953, had given birth to its predecessor, le "bureau d'aide sociale" (social welfare office). Therefore the communal center of social action is the result of a process giving rise to a deep mutation of its institutional conditioning. In add, a re novation of its juridical system and the widening of its field of intervention make it open from now to the "local socia l development". From this topic, the reform has given to the communal center of social action the juridical context with out efficient means (financials and dimensionals). Therefore the reform leaves the communal center of social action a li ttle poorer than before it took place. So that on the institutional survey, this public establishment status confers it an autonomy, that is more than ever a juridical front having for only function to allow the individualization and the di versification of some aspects of the social communal politic
