Full textObject of a research: social competence features of 10th grade students. Goal of a research: to reveal social competence features of teenagers. Tasks of a research: 2. Investigate, based on type of school, primary school and gymnasium 10th grade student’s level of a social competence. 3. Compare, based on a gender, primary school and gymnasium 10th grade student’s level of a social competence. Hypothesis: 10th grade students in primary schools are less socially competent than 10th grade students in gymnasiums. Conclusions: 1. Research established that, social competence level of gymnasium students is not always higher than that of primary school students. In many cases results such as: general self-confidence, resistance to failures and criticism, ability to express feelings, uncompromising, the ability to request, feeling of not guilty, were statistically insignificant (p>0,05). Although, it is possible to state that in a situation when someone asks for a help, social competence level of a 10th grade student in a gymnasium is higher than that of a 10th grade student in a primary school. 2. Relationships among pupils and their communication and co-operation skills have a great impact on the proper training of social competence. The goal of the research – to identify the singularity of students social competence of the study program „Tourism and sports management“ The analysis of nonfiction, questionnaire and statistical analysis was used in this research. According to R. Lekavičienė‘s (2001, 2004) research of students social competence, we have made the hypothesis, that men more than women trust in oneself, but they express their feelings worse than women. The women have bigger feeling of guilt then men. The students of the study program “Tourism and sport management” Lithuanian Academy’s of Sports Education participated in this research. The respondents were chosen by the method of undenominational researching group choice – when the repartition of investigative in the population group is unknown. We picked all the students which study the program “Tourism and sport management”. It was questioned 173 students – 135 women and 38 men. We have used the method of questionnaire to find the singularity of social competence and the social competence assessment methodology prepared by R.Lekavičienė (2001) (potted by Ullrich and de Muynck questionnaire) to value them. Full textThe purpose of the study is to analyze the subjective health of teachers, the links between social competence and fear of school. The study included 132 Akmenė district teachers (94 gymnasium teachers, 14 primary school teachers, 16 special school teachers, 8 teachers of music schools). All of the tested subjects were women, having higher education . Research methods: techniques to investigate the social competence, which consists of 45 claims (R. Ullrich, and R. de Muynck, Social competence test (Germany, 1994) adapted by R. Lekavičienė, 2000). For the identification of incidence of fear of educators and fear expressions, a questionnaire compiled by R. Kreitschmann, B. Weidenmann was used: Questionnaire of teachers’ wellbeing at school, fear content, frequency and specifics of expression. (1999). Assessment of subjective health status, according to WHO Quality of life, health-related quality of life (A.Goštautas, 2001) The study results indicate that teachers with higher social competence tend to better evaluate their subjective health and less experience the fear of school. It was found that teachers who are more often abused and criticized, more often feel the fear of school. Most teachers identify the lack of information in the organization, rush, administrative requirements, excruciating tasks as the major school fear factors.

Full textIn adolescence, when one is seeking to attain autonomy and independence from family, important become relations with the peers, their evaluation and acceptance, it is sought to try new social roles and to find oneself. However all these abilities depend namely on the social experience gained in the family, which is the basis for the social competence to form on. However the teenagers, whose parents have left abroad, live having limited opportunities to observe parental interrelations, to learn problem solving, to accept social roles and to develop social experiences on this basis. This paper deals with how temporary emigration of the parents affect teenager’s socialization and what is the direction his/her social competence forms, i.e. how relations with peers and adults are created, how self-assessment is created. Aim of the paper: to analyse social competence expression trends of the teenagers whose both or one parent has temporary left abroad. Quantitative survey was performed in the schools of Siauliai City. In total 326 pupils from 6th-12th forms were interviewed, including 101 whose both or one parent has temporary left abroad and 225 teenagers living with parents. Full textThe aim of the study was to assess first graders' social competence links with the family composition and parental relationship quality. Subjects were 222 first-grade students attending seven schools in Kaunas. Age of subjects was ranging from 6 to 8 years. 134 (60.4%) of the subjects were girls and the rest 88 (39.6%) were boys (39.6%). Children's social competence was measured using the short versijon of the Social competence of elementary school scale (SKPMS),completed by the class teacher. The methodology developed by doctoral student Šarūnė Magelinskaitė-Legkauskienė at Vytautas Magnus University, Department of Theoretical Psychology. The quality of the relationship between parents rated Perceived Relationship Quality Components (PRQC) (Flet-cher et al., 2000), completed by the parents of children. Lithuanian version of the scale was obtained from doc. dr..Visvaldas Legkauskas at Vytautas Magnus University, Department of General Psychology. Family composition has been rated by asking parents whether the child lives with both biological parents or the child's parents are divorced, has been asked about the number of children in the family, their ages, birth order of the first – graders. Generally, the provision of financial support, allowance and services to family is a concern of social workers. It is likely that support and help to social risk families and individual help to every member of family would be of higher quality and more effective, if the standards of social worker's training and the variety of competencies of specialized social workers were being developed, and services of higher and higher quality were being provided. Full textSummary The social policy experts argue that there is a need to activate the new forms of solidarity, voluntary movement and more effective comunity iniciatives. The most appropriate form is the self – development groups and their associations. The inadequate various professionals’ attention for the clients‘ level of the stress, stigmatization, the worsened social functioning, emotionally negative feelings, the changes of the social status, the inner relationships, the disfunction of the social roles, demand the social worker to manage the highest level in the methodical competence. The methodical action in social work is the intervention to the clients‘ environment, aiming at the personal and the external change that would influence the succesfull future well - being. The self – development groups are one of the most promising methods of social work which helps to correct the relationships with the others, the negative attitude and the behavior models, unconscious needs and feelings. In this way the cocial work clients would be helped to adapt in the foreseeable environment and society. This paper focuces on the conflict of different culture inside the multicultural teams in the companies. The mentor is a person who passes on his/her knowledge, skills, wisdom, and experience which are useful for the professional and personal improvement of the student. The mentor’s assistance is important in integrating theoretical knowledge of social work into the sphere of practical work. This complex aid requires certain competences; however, up until now the work carried out by the social-work mentor nor the competences needed have not been fully recorded. The problem studied in this paper is that no real discussion of the work of social-work mentors or their necessary competences has been produced. Therefore it is complicated to evaluate and compare the activities carried out by social-work mentors. The goal of this study is to define the sphere of work and competences of the social-work mentor. This study linked traits from Big Five- Faktor model of personality to shift managers competncies. Neurotizm, Emotion stability, Extraversion, Openness to Experience and Agreebleness were hypothesized to link with shift managers competencies. Results based on 70 samples of shift managers from 1 organization reavel that Ekstarversion positevely corelated with Initiative, Supervisory abilities, Motivating others competencies and overal supervisor rating. Agreeablenes was positively correlate with Conflict managment, Stress managment and Cooperation competencies. Openess to Experience was positively correlate with Initiative, Decision quality competencies. Consientiousness was positevely correlate with Productivity, Responsibility, Planing, Custumer focus, Organizational, Results Orientation competencies.Emotion Stability was positively correlate with Stress managment, Custumer focus, Decision quality and Conflict managment competencies. In order to achieve the aim, the study selected to assess the readiness of specific social workers from Vilnius City Municipal Social Assistance center in collaborating with other institutions providing assistance. To confirm the study, the work bring these challenges - the results of the scientific literature and document analysis, interviews with Vilnius city center of social assistance workers to determine their readiness to collaborate with other assistance providing agencies, and interviews with social service recipients to assess the quality of services received. The problem-oriented analysis of sustainable development and knowledge management structures the concept of sustainable development that aims for sustainable development in the global, regional and organizational context through extended knowledge management conception. The content analysis of Lithuanian executive‘s documents reveals that, aiming for the sustainable development of knowledge society, country‘s education policy has to be oriented not only to social welfare and economical competitiveness, but also to the importance of ecological education.
