Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the concept of Public private partnerships in the Czech Republic. Specifically it focuses on healthcare and social services. At first we introduce the partnership between the public and private sector in general. We inform about its forms, risks, advantages and disadvantages. We concentrate on legislative and institutional environment in the Czech Republic. The fundamental contribution of the thesis can be seen in monitoring of individual realized and unrealized projects. There we make effort to find common factors of their realization. The main aim is to answer the question whether PPP projects are appropriate tool for solving the situation in the health sector. The results show that the state PPP projects are not appropriate instrument to address investment in the current conditions. On the contrary better management is seen at municipalities especially in social services. PPP projects can not be seen as means of solving long-term problems in the health sector in the Czech Republic. In conclusion we give recommendation regarding application of the concept of PPP in the healthcare or the social services in this country.

Abstract:
Ability and willingness to act ethically is the basis of the quality of the service in helping professions. This thesis deals with the fact which ethical principles are considered to be the most important in work of health care professionals and social workers of the civic association Prevent. In the theoretical part it is dealt with professional ethics, specifics of ethics in health care and social work, about the ethical codes of health and social workers and ethical principles of these professions. Ethics is a philosophical science that seeks to identify and justify the common and general bases which are connected with morality (culturally and historically conditioned by moral standards). The most common approach to the professional ethics is to determine generally formulated ethical principles. The formulation of the ethical principles of the profession can help to understand better the goals that have to be fulfilled. They are defined freely, so they can be acceptable to all. Their freedom is also their weak point - the acceptance of the principle does not give the instructions for a particular act, in addition to the generally accepted principles often come into dispute among them. The basic principles of medical ethics are considered the principles of non maleficience, beneficence, autonomy and justice. Banks defined similar principles for social work ? respect to the right to self-determination, support of well-being or welfare, distributive justice and equality, in the sense of non-discrimination. The practical part of the thesis presents the results of the research. Its goal was to find out which ethical principles are considered by health care professionals and social workers of the civic association Prevent the most important in their profession and how they apply these principles in practice, next to find similarities and differences in the responses of both professional groups and their clients. To achieve the goal the qualitative research was chosen. Interviews, semi-structured interview technique were used to gain the data. The sample was made up three health care professionals, three social workers and three clients civic association Prevent. The research results show that the area of ethics for health care profesiionals and social workers is a difficult topic. The interviewed professionals and clients do not realize the difference between ethics in the health and social work. All interviewees rather see the difference between professionals working with drug users, who are judged as professional and respondents are satisfied with their ethical behavior, and professionals outside the field of addiction, where they met with unethical approach ? prejudices, not respecting of the dignity, condemnation due to addiction. The social workers and health care professionals mention a number of principles which they consider relevant and important to their work. The matching answers to five basic bioethical principles and the principles of social work (non maleficience, beneficence, autonomy, justice, equality-nondiscrimination) has shown that the answers of the respondents of both professions at the same time meet the basic ethical principles of social work and bioethics. Nonmaleficience principle, which is not referred in the literature as the ethical principles of the social work, which two of the three paramedical workers and two of the tree social workers mention in their answers. The principle of the equality, is not mentioned among the basic bioethical principles, two of the three paramedical workers and two of the three social workers. Also the interviewed clients think that it is also very important and significant, the main client requirement in the area of ethics for both professions is the respect for the client, the access without prejudices. The interviewed health care professionals and social workers agree that the main way of solving ethical problems is the intervision in the team and a supervision.

Abstract:
This thesis deals with a medical and social view of taking healing hemp (cannabis). It is a theoretical thesis elaborated based on the analysis of the available Czech and foreign information sources and professional publications. The thesis target is to map the issue of taking healing hemp by means of the information from the available foreign and Czech literature. The thesis focuses on the most important issues dealt with by the professional as well as lay public and on the development of the solution of this issue. I was captured by this issue after my internship in Belgium, where I had the opportunity to travel through neighbouring Netherlands and to get to know, from the viewpoint of a foreigner, the opinions and access of the inhabitants to the hemp as healing and relaxing mean. The first chapter deals with using the healing hemp in the historical context. Hemp represents one of the oldest crops and for this reason the history of hemp in the period of antiquity, Middle Ages and modern times is described. The following chapter focuses on the individual substances contained in hemp. In this chapter, the endo-cannabinoid system and three kinds of substances contained in hemp strains are analysed canabinoids (THC), canabidiols (CBD), canabinols (CBN). The chapter presents the profile of one of the most important personalities associated with hemp, professor Raphael Mechoulam, the main icon and discoverer of THC. The chapter three devotes to toxicology and addiction when taking hemp, which occurs quite rarely among users of hemp drugs. In this chapter, influence of hemp on the memory of user is treated, as well as the influence of hemp on the occurrence of lungs diseases discussed constantly in connection with smoking and in the last part of this chapter, the addiction and influence of hemp on users psyche is analysed. The following chapter is devoted to the issue of the drug policy, especially defining the status of healing hemp in the law, research of healing hemp and legalization of hemp in the Czech Republic. This chapter is devoted in detail to the legalization of hemp in the world, especially in the states like California, Israel, Canada and Netherlands where the hemp was legalized for healing purposes many years ago. The present science brings a wide spectrum of clinical research examining the effects of hemp during the treatment of many diseases. For this reason, the chapter dealing with hemp in connection with medicine is present in the thesis. Six areas were chosen from individual medicine branches on which this chapter is focused. The reader learns about the healing effects of hemp in the area of oncological diseases, psychiatric diseases, palliation of pain, dermatological diseases, multiple sclerosis and HIV/AIDS. In the last chapter, the opinions and experiences of the professional public in connection with hemp are described. This part deals with the contribution of the newest knowledge presented at the Prague conference about healing hemp. In this part of thesis, also the international hemp Cannafest Trade Fair is mentioned held in 2015 in Prague. It follows clearly from the thesis that the health and social issues connected with healing hemp is the topic of extensive and long-lasting discussions at present. In the area of the lay public, there is interest in this form of medical treatment which is supported quite a lot. The thesis may be used as information source by medical/paramedical and social employees and organizations supporting the legal use of healing hemp. It could represent the base of a professional article for the journal dealing with this topic as e.g. professional journals "Legalization" or "Health." Last but not least, the thesis should serve as complex of information for the persons who decided to take the hemp or consider this possibility.

Abstract:
This thesis with the topic Working time in healthcare makes an effort to deal comprehensively with the particular issues of the working time institutes, their application in healthcare and it alternatively point to some defiency in legislation. The regulation of the working time is one of the most important working conditions especially for the workers due to the fact that they spend more than one third of their day at work. In case of the healtcare workers it's even more than one third of their day. In first chapters I pursued regulation of the working time from the view of the international law, in concrete from the view of the Conventions of International Labour Organization. I focused more on the European Union regulations, especially on the Working Time Directive, because due to this directive there is no longer the institute of the on-call duty at workplace in czech legislation. The Directive also allowed to legitimize further agreed overtime work for healthcare works. In the third chapter I focused on the regulation of the working time itself. I analyzed the characteristics and compared the current wording with the definition in the Labour Code from the 1965. In the following chapters I analyzed the lenght of working time and its scheduling. I pointed out the differences between fixed, short...

Abstract:
Diploma thesis called: " Evaluation of the use of horsemanship method in horse training" determined the extension and application of this method. The research of this diploma thesis is based on a questionnaire survey that identifies and evaluates the involved horses, their stud, age and gender. It determines the purposes for which horses are bred and which riding style is used. The thesis analyses ground work with horses too. Ground work is indispensable part of horses training with horsemanship methods. Finally, the questionnaire detects the use of horses in sport and their sports results. It compares horses trained by horsemanship and horse trained by classical riding. The research was conducted from September 2014 to March 2015. 38 responses were collected with a total number of 133 horses. Concerning the sample of horses, the most commonly used breed is Czech Warmblood, the majority of horses is 6 -- 10 years old and the most occurring gender is a mare. Horsemanship method is mainly used in western riding style. 33 respondents think that the method is effective and 30 of them use it primarily for training a young horse. Horses trained by this method have very good sports results in western disciplines.

Abstract:
The thesis deals with coaching as social work tool and with its ethical aspects in relationship to individual. It is divided into three parts. In the first part, I define the coaching itself, as well as its solution and its types. I also distinguish the coaching from different types of social work, such as counselling and therapy; then I set the coaching into social work helping scope. The second part is focused on the relationship between the client and the helping worker while using coaching. Here I present the relationship paradigms, the helping worker aspect (with emphasis on competence and personal disposition) and the client aspect (with focus on his conception and his inner world). This part deals with the topic of help and control as well. In the third part I look into ethical aspects that are crucial in the client's and worker's relationship, aspects that follow from the definition of this relationship from the second part of the thesis, such as freedom, dignity, respect, autonomy, self-determination, worker's personality, preferences, responsibility, conscience and power.

Abstract:
This Master's thesis called "Labour as a Social Determinant and its Influence on the Health of Medical Staff in Selected Hospitals" is divided into two main sections. The first section summarizes current knowledge from both Czech and world literature from the field of social determinants related to health and labour. The second part of this work deals with the aim of the research, data collection and data processing methods as well as with the very evaluation of the output information and a discussion of the results elicited. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters and consists of basic issues related to the aim of this Master's thesis. The first chapter describes social determinants of health from various points of view. One of the chapter's components is a description of a current conception of these determinants. The second chapter deals with the construct of health, its definition and its conception. Last but not least it treats health as a determiner. The third chapter summarizes a social determinant of labour and labour-related terms. The author is further concerned with the importance of work for humans and with labour safety and hygiene. The fourth and last chapter is dedicated to public health of the Czech republic, its history, the system of health care and further focuses on the structure and services of Ostrov hospital and Sokolov hospital. The aim of this Master's thesis is proposed in the empirical part of this work. The aim was to map the influence of labour as a social determinant of the health of medical staff in selected hospitals. Next, constitutive objectives were established. Their purpose was to map the impact of workplace relationships and their influence on the overall health of medical staff as well as the impact of working environment including salary, working hours, work agenda and workplace security on the overall health of medical staff. The following hypotheses were assessed in connection with the objectives of this work: H1: Workplace relations of medical staff affects their overall health. H2: Salary affects the overall health of medical staff. H3: Working hours affects the overall health of medical staff. H4: Work agenda affects the overall health of medical staff. H5: Workplace safety affects the overall health of medical staff. Based on the statistical testing hypotheses 1, 3 and 4 were confirmed. Hypotheses 2 and 5 were not confirmed. The enquiry within the framework of this Master's thesis was conducted using a quantitative research. The interviewing method and the technique of questionnaire were used for data acquirement. The questionnaire was composed from questions regarding the matter of inquiry, questions evaluating subjective health of the respondents, questions related to the occupation of the people addressed. The round of questions was finally targeted at the issue of respondents' health vs. their work. The questionnaire was anonymous. The research distribution was accomplished via Deputy Minister of health care in both hospitals. The research file was formed by a medical staff who work in Sokolov hospital and Ostrov hospital. The resulting data were entered and processed using SPPS program vision 16.0 and 23.0 (Statistical Package for Social Science). The data were further evaluated and processed via graphs and tables in absolute numbers and percentages. After the evaluation of all questions in the questionnaire I reached a conclusion that labour as a social determinant of health has impact on the health of medical staff. I shall also assume that the majority of respondents were quite positive while rating the overall complacence with their jobs. Their complacence appears despite the mental rather than physical demand which undoubtedly goes with medical careers as well as despite their work conditions and workplace relationship which all impact their overall health.

Abstract:
The main aim of the research was to map the influence of selected social determinants on health of target immigrant groups. The method was based on the concept of ten social determinants of health as introduced by Wilkinson and Marmot (2003). The quantitative method used were interviews. The survey was carried out in the period from January 2010 to December 2012. Data collection was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the influence of two social determinants of health (nutrition and addiction) on the respondents' state of health was investigated. The second stage of the survey focused on working conditions and on how respondents can use health care. 246 immigrants were interviewed in the first stage of the survey. They were from the following regions: South Bohemian Region, the capital Prague and Vysočina Region. 236 immigrants from two regions (South Bohemian Region and the capital Prague) were addressed in the second stage of the survey. They were legally settled immigrants in the age group 18 65, of Vietnamese, Mongolian and Ukrainian nationality. The results of the survey clearly show that the target immigrant groups are more exposed to unfavorable working conditions than majority population. Compared to the Czech population the target immigrant groups show statistically significant differences especially in the area of excessive workload and discrimination in the workplace. Increasing incidence of unfavorable working conditions resulted in significant increase in occupational diseases. The factors influencing use of healthcare by immigrants are the type of health insurance, length of residence, sex and knowledge of Czech language. Immigrants who had entered the system of public health insurance used healthcare much more frequently than immigrants with commercial health insurance. Male immigrants smoke and drink alcohol much more heavily than female immigrants. The young generation of immigrants (aged 18 to 29) smoke statistically more significantly than the middle-aged and older generation of immigrants. Middle-aged immigrants (aged 30 to 50) consume more wine and spirits. Their health was perceived subjectively as "worse" by those respondents who at the same time mentioned chronic pain and psychic stress in the workplace. The following measures could lead to elimination of social inequality and to improvement of immigrants' situation in the Czech Republic: equal working conditions for immigrants and Czech employees, improvement of immigrants' knowledge of Czech, shortening of the overall time for obtaining permanent residence, simplification of the terms for gaining citizenship, guarantee of access to public healthcare to all legally settled immigrants.

Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to monitor the work of selected female orders in social service and healthcare and to classify the target groups that nuns work with. At the same time the thesis studies the interdigitation of spiritual life and the values of conventual order with practical nuns' work and it also monitors the experience of particular nuns relating to their work in ordinary life outside their community. An important aspect is also their concept of social work and healthcare with respect to their order and their concept with respect to secular concept. To meet the target of this thesis I have chosen a qualitative research method, particularly a half-structured dialogue method, which provided both free narration of individual nuns and possible further questions of the inquirer, which helped explain the details. In chapter "Results" there are portraits of each nun, created on the basis of half-structured dialogues. The portraits keep their authenticity, although redundant words were omitted and dialectal and colloquial expressions were translated into standard Czech. The main value of this thesis lies in the compact overview of induvidual institutions, where nuns work. These organizations are either own by particular congregations, which concern Sisters of Mercy of St. Borromeo and Congregation of the Mercy Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis under the Protection of the Holy Family in Brno, to whom these organizations were returned in the 90s of the 20th century or the nuns work in organizations that are owned by someone else, which is the case of Daughters of Charity of st. Vincent de Paul. The significant value of this thesis lies in the complete number of nuns in particular congregations, the data are clearly written in the table, created on the basis of the study of all parts of the Catalogue of the male and female congregations in the Czech Republic. Table 12 shows the number of nuns in particular congregations from the end of the 90s of the 20th century till the year 2015. Table 13 shows the number of nuns in selected congregations who work in healthcare and social service at present.
