This paper assesses Michel Foucault's idea of a disciplinary society and its connection with gender dynamics. Foucault's contributions to different fields of knowledge, with philosophy, sociology, and gender studies, are emphasized and his major publications, such as "Discipline and Punish," "The History of Sexuality," and others, are discussed as per the significance. The context of Foucault's disciplinary society theory is explored, underlining its implications for understanding power relations and social control. This paper describes development of networked learning using Fraser's powerful analogy between human migration and scientific research. It recognises that most contributions to the field are developed in diverse and often mutually incommensurable research traditions from education to engineering, and identifies dialogue across different conceptual frameworks as the main challenge in their interpretation. It explores the rise of disciplinarity, and exposes its dialectical relationships with education and class. Based on wide body of research developed by members of Frankfurt School of Social Sc

Following Foucault’s famous study of disciplinary society, Deleuze suggests that we are moving away from discipline toward a regime characterised by “continuous control and instant communication” (1990b: 174). This is not a claim that disciplinary mechanisms are obsolete, but that the overall regime of power has evolved: the architecture of “panopticism”, as we will see, is too rigid a model of functioning to capture “the ultrarapid forms of apparently free-floating control” (Deleuze 1990a: 178) that have become reality with the cybernetic machine. Abstract:
Technology is becoming more integral across professional fields and within our daily lives, especially since the onset of the pandemic. As such, opportunities to learn computational thinking are important to all students—not only the ones who will eventually study computer science or enter the information technology industry. However, large inequalities continue to exist in access to equipment and learning opportunities needed to build computational thinking skills for students that experience marginalization. We call all educators to integrate computational thinking into disciplinary learning

Key Enabled Technologies(KETs) have the potential to impact on many aspects of society, whilst transforming European industrial competitiveness at the local, national, and global scales. Studies funded by the European Commission have shown that European advances in six technology areas would not only enhance the leadership and competitiveness of European business, but also drive advances across Europe’s business sectors and society. Despite their applicability across sectors, KETs represent a change, and a new manner of moving forward. Business and society view change both positively, welcomin

In this paper, we address a specific tool—InnoMix—that is implemented to overcome the lack of university–industry interaction in a selected region facing structural change with its corresponding impact on the economy and society. InnoMix is facilitated and implemented by university-based transfer scouts who act as mediators and translators between the players of the regional innovation system. These transfer scouts are part of the Innovation Hub 13, in which the region’s partners and stakeholders, infrastructures and competencies are systematically networked with each other to set new impulses
