This article discusses the role of dakwah of the al-Azhar graduates of Egypt through the International Organization Al-Azhar Graduate in Riau (OIAA) in spreading Islamic dakwah in Riau, using descriptive and Islahi ijtima'i methods. In this study, the author finds that the use approach wasatiah, that is, trying to be an intermediary in a community problem so that it can be an improvement of society in a direction that can accept differences of opinion (Islahi ijtima'i). This study proves that some graduates of al-Azhar, Egypt, namely Musthafa Umar and Abdul Somad became scholars who are popular with the people, do not hold a single proposition of scholars or certain hadith, but try to present many propositions and hadiths to the community, so the community is told to choose propositions appropriate to their respective abilities. So the role of graduation in preaching is very important to understand the community in worship and dealing..

Students and alumni reported a weak desire for a transition towards entrepreneurship despite endless support from the government and the higher education institution (HEI). Indeed alumni and students prefer more security and stability in working life. The survey results show that it is easier for graduates to find employment immediately after their graduation. Besides, it turns out that alumni have opportunities to display their creativity and to come up with new ideas in their current job. Similarly, the students reported that they are able to display creativity in whatever activities they are involved. The impact of entrepreneurship education on society and economy were average. The study implies that HEIs should focus in developing greater levels of innovative entrepreneurial activity to support students in identifying viable entrepreneurial opportunities and new venture creation. Continuous assessment is vital to realign the entrepreneurship education and become the agent of industrial innovation, technological development, economic development and social development especially in the context of growing knowledge-based economy.

Abstract:
In an era marked by rapid technological progress and social shifts, the pursuit of sustainable development has become an urgent necessity for the global community. Within the framework of the global agenda, universities have begun to play a key role, using their profound influence on the younger generation and the academic sphere as a whole to form a culture deeply rooted in the principles of sustainable development. In general, alumni associations serve as crucial channels bridging the gap between the academic world and society. It is for this reason that the authors have set out to assess the effectiveness of alumni associations through the perspective of two different generations of graduates: young graduates and representatives from the earliest cohorts. Using a qualitative research approach, which includes in-depth interviews and expert evaluations, this study aims to assess the key criteria for an effective alumni association. The resulting data, supported by mathematical analysis and stakeholder theory, not only shed light on the success criteria for alumni associations but also offer practical recommendations for enhancing their contribution to sustainable development. The research conducted within the context of a Kazakhstani university provides valuable insights and practical strategies for integrating sustainable development into the economic and managerial structure of the academic sphere, setting a precedent for universities worldwide.

The questionnaire comprised 32 questions addressing some general information of the participants and the structure of their paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition programmes; procedural volume and terminal ileal intubation (TII) rate; supervision, assessments, participation in endoscopy courses and simulator training; and satisfaction with endoscopy training and self-perceived competency.ResultsOf 68 participants, 48 (71%) were enrolled in an official training programme. All alumni (n=31) were trained in endoscopy. They completed a median of 200 oesophagogastroduodenoscopies (OGDs) and 75 ileocolonoscopies (ICs) with a TII rate of >90% in 43%. There is a significant difference in numbers of ICs between the TII rate groups >90%, 50%–90% and <50% (median 150 vs 38 vs 55) (p<0.001). 11 alumni (35%) followed the ESPGHAN Syllabus during training. 25 alumni (81%) attended basic skills endoscopy courses and 19 (61%) experienced simulator training. 71% of the alumni were ‘(very) satisfied’ with their diagnostic OGD, while 52% were ‘(very) satisfied’ with their IC training. The alumni felt safe to independently perform OGDs in 84% and ICs in 71% after their training.ConclusionsDespite reaching the suggested procedural endoscopy volumes, a rather low TII rate of >90% calls for end-of-training certifications based on the achievement of milestones of competency.

The purpose of this study is to discuss how stereotypes received by alumni of Pondok Pesantren Al Mukmin Ngruki who were once suspected of being terrorists and find out how the impact received by alumni as former terrorist suspects. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method and a phenomenological-naturalistic approach. The research design used a multisite study conducted at the Pondok Pesantren Al Mukmin Ngruki with alumni and the community around. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, and documentation methods. Data analysis used individual-site analysis and cross-site analysis techniques. To test the validity of the data is done through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of this study indicate that the form of community stereotypes obtained by alumni of Pondok Pesantren Al Mukmin Ngruki who were suspected of being terrorists, includes two things namely positive stereotypes and negative stereotypes. From the statements of sources, both ES and MN provided information that the stereotypes they faced were not too prominent. While the stereotypes they get from the community are more positive stereotypes than negative stereotypes. This certainly has an impact on several subjects related to widespread stigma or stereotypes in society. Of course this is a common concern, as social beings who have their rights. <span lang="EN-US">The bachelor of science in entrepreneurship (BSE) program is offered to address the needs of learners who want to obtain a degree adapted to their talents and abilities to contribute to the industrialization of the country. To assess transparency, the college has the responsibility to keep track of the success of its graduates and whether their curriculum has affected the person, the society, or the country. The graduate tracer analysis will aid in evaluating the employability of the graduate and define the multiple variables that will act as a framework for optimizing students’ college instruction and facilities. In this tracer study, 69 alumni who graduated from 2013 to 2017 were surveyed using a modified graduate tracer study (GTS) instrument, administered using social media and other digital platforms. The contribution to alumni employability of factors: curriculum, student services, facilities, faculty competence, methods of instruction, and career guidance-were quantified and ranked. Based on the results, the most significant factors contributing to alumni employability were course content/curriculum, student services (training, seminars), and facilities. As such, the researchers recommend strengthening the BSE curriculum, conducting employee training and seminars, and streamlining administrative facilities.</span>

Recent graduates of a degree program in professional and technical communication were surveyed to identify their current employment, their attitudes toward their academic preparation, and the professional courses they found most helpful. The history and curriculum of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT's) eleven-year-old program in Professional and Technical Communication (PTC) is described, as well as the program's “professional core,” its Liberal Arts core, and its cooperative education requirement. The survey was modeled after a previous survey the authors conducted with members of the Society for Technical Communication. The results of both surveys emphasized the basics of writing and computer skills. The degree program alumni also expressed the desire for a “more practical” curriculum that placed less emphasis on theory. Anecdotal responses from the alumni provided a unique view of the field through the eyes of its newest practitioners.

Abstract:
Education is widely recognized as a key ingredient in furthering society-wide sustainability transformation. Although there has been extensive research on higher education for sustainability, the qualitative outcomes of sustainability-focused education are less robustly interrogated. As more students graduate from sustainability-specific programmes, it should be asked: what kind of professionals are they and how do they operationalise sustainability at their work? This paper studied career paths and professionalism in the emerging professional field of sustainability, using semi-structured, in-depth interviews of 19 alumni of a master’s level sustainability-specific programme. The interview results reveal that professionalism in sustainability is based on ideals that appear to oppose or conflict the norms and values of several fields in which sustainability is applied. The results also show that the professionals often face challenges in practising sustainability in the workplace but have found strategies to manage these challenges. Finally, the alumni suggested that the sustainability profession is poised between being a specialisation orientation in other recognised fields and a generalist approach that takes sustainability itself as the specialisation practicable in several different fields.

These now commonplace practices constituted radical innovations in the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. The former originated at Yale University in 1890; the latter at Harvard University between 1915 and 1925. It was through these two innovations that higher education began to assimilate the new phenomenon of “mass giving” and “people's philanthropy” which arose in American society between 1890 and 1920.

Educational institutions worldwide are undergoing fundamental shifts in how they operate and interact with their “customers”, students, alumni, donors, and faculty members. Higher education, especially the management education has been changing rapidly and educational institutions are compelled to focus and shift their strategies on student community, faculty members, and industrial organizations so that they remain relevant to the society at large. A nation can remain competitive and its economy can continue grow, only if the quality of knowledge provided by higher education institutions becomes meaningful. Technological, economic, sociological, and governmental forces are altering education dramatically, impacting its institutions, teachers, students, funding sources, and basic function in society. Abstract: In the course of the history of Islamic education,Islamic schools as institutions of Islamic education was not as expected. One side, in terms of religion, alumni are not able to compete with graduates of boarding schools and on the other hand, in terms of general science, can not compete with public schools. So too, madrasas in education and learning are not in line with communitlr interests, and can not solve the problems faced by society. There has been a "dehumanization" in the practice of education in madrasas. Therefore, to liberate the madrasa education from the process of "dehumanization", as well as for education in accordance with the interests of society, the madrasa education should be society-based (popular) to instilt a spirit critical of social phenomena. Therefore, the critical educational needs in the learning process, cooperation between the madrasas with the community and always do the renewal of the retigious doctrines which have been shallowed.

Abstract:
Purpose In order to address the complex problems of society, the innovation research process should incorporate technical, social, economic and ethical factors, but also actively involve a diverse group of non-scientific actors. One way to prepare students for this type of research is to create “Citizen Scholars,” students who want to work for the betterment of society. Arvanitakis and Hornsby (2016) argue that we need to change how we teach and train students in specific proficiencies. The purpose of this paper is to assess how the pedagogical approach applied within the program contributes to building the proficiencies and attributes as described by Arvanitakis and Hornsby (2016). Design/methodology/approach The authors conducted a total of 12 interviews with alumni who started their program in 2014, one focus group discussion with lecturers and 132 questionnaires with alumni to discuss to what extend the proficiencies are trained in the program and whether these are used in their current jobs. The authors also included data of an earlier study conducted in 2014. These data contain 26 interviews with students during the first year of the program. These students graduated in 2017 and are thus from the same cohort as the alumni. Findings The results show that the pedagogical approach in the management policy analysis program trains all the attributes. Important elements in the program are: the inquiry-based approach intertwined with community service learning (CSL) throughout the program; gradually increased complexity of the real-world problems addressed; students working in teams; and gradually reducing support of the lecturer. Research limitations/implications The authors conclude that our pedagogical approach applied in the program contributes to learning the proficiencies. The authors argue that for the training of inter- and transdisciplinary, the proficiency knowledge integration should be added. Practical implications The result show that more inquiry-based approaches and CSL programs can stimulate the four clusters of proficiencies, which should hold a central place in universities if we want to create citizen scholars. Social implications With the approach, students contribute to research issues of local communities. Originality/value Despite the increasing interest of higher education to involve civic activities in the curricula, few pedagogical approaches are described. The research shows that theoretical insights in the adaption of a model to realize a citizen scholar.

Abstract:
Abstract A comparison of data on the first jobs of one university's forestry graduates with national data on members of the foresters' professional association points to some trends in forestry employment. Compared with older alumni and with Society of American Foresters members as a whole, recent graduates from North Carolina State University are taking fewer positions with federal agencies and in land management, but more consulting jobs and specialized procurement or environmental services positions. Graduates with advanced degrees are finding more career opportunities than bachelor's-degree foresters. To prepare their graduates for future employment, forestry education programs need to reflect regional differences in employment.

Abstract:
Society shapes the law and the law, we hope, might shape society for the better in turn. Legal traditions and practices therefore surely ought to secure for all citizens the prerequisites of a life worthy of human dignity. In a speech to the Routledge-Modise Law School in Johannesburg in September 2008, Justice Kate O’Regan[1] drew on Antony Kronman’s theory that one of the main characteristics identifying the practice of Law is that it is directly concerned with the public good. Lawyers have a responsibility to foster the legal system and the rule of law; at times, this might require them to suggest new laws or legislation; at other times, it might require them to criticize judgments which may not appear correct; at other times, they may need to protect the rule of law itself.[1] O’Regan, K. ‘Lawyering in Our New Constitutional Order.’ (2009). Abstract:
Job opportunities for graduates of the French Language Studies Program (PS) are currently more and more promising. But of course, graduates must have good or even superior skills to compete with graduates of the same field from various Indonesian universities. Therefore, the existence of specialization courses (MK) is a very good step to equip graduates with qualified skills, especially in the field of French. Specialized courts can help graduates be able to compete in a wider range of professions. Employment opportunities for graduates will be increasingly open. But in reality, there are still students, alumni and stakeholders who don't know and understand this. Thus, through this service activity, it is hoped that the various parties directly involved will be able to learn about the importance of the specialized tribunal during studies in the French Language Studies Program. Not only the provision of French with a literary and pedagogical basis, but also competence in the field of specialized French (FOS / French for Specific Objectives) to be able to compete in an increasingly difficult professional world. The challenges of the disruptive era and the 4.0 industrial revolution and the 5.0 society require students and alumni as well as stakeholders to be able to adapt quickly to the changes taking place both in the world of education than professionals.

Abstract:
The Law on the National Education System No. 20 of 2003 confirms that education is a shared responsibility between the government, the community and the family. So the community must be involved in the implementation of education. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, the research concludes; that the role of the Deroduwur community in the one-roof educational institution Al-Asy'ariyyah, has at least four components: increasing student distribution, participating in creating a religious school environment, involvement in school committees, and promotion of schools through alumni forums. This finding reinforces the fact that society and schools cannot be separated, the synergy of the two has an impact on increasing the quality and quantity of education.

ABSTRACT We relate the findings of a survey of architecture school graduates wherein we investigate the relationship between education and practice and provide suggestions for bringing the two worlds closer together. Following a literature review, we present a questionnaire asking alumni to describe their understanding of practice gained while in school, their sense of preparation when entering the profession, and their observations about the nature and degree of alignment between the two. In our conclusions, we describe the relationship between a more theoretical and design-focused architectural education and the obligation of the architect to sustain a viable practice, to respond effectively to client-defined project needs and budget, and to ensure the health, safety and welfare of society.

Abstract:
Introduction: The implementation of many programs that focus on an integrated approach of health and social issues, proves to be difficult. Among many obstacles, more than once the financing of the program is a stumbling block. The hesitation to invest is prompted by the uncertainties of the benefits these programs aim at. The intended results are not always easy to monetize. Moreover, the benefits may distribute among other stakeholders than those who bore the costs of the program, the so-called ‘wrong pocket problem’. To overcome the hesitation to invest, a social cost-benefit analysis (SCBA) offers a remedy.
Indicative Societal Cost-Benefit Analysis (iSCBA): A SCBA is based on a broad concept of prosperity. In this concept, ‘soft’ values such as health and culture are also included as beneficial contributions to the well-being of both individuals and society. This type of analysis assesses the impact of an investment on society by estimating all relevant costs and revenues, both financial and non-financial, and their (re)distributions amongst stakeholders. Public research agencies in the Netherlands underline the contribution of SCBA’s to policymaking in the field of public health and social welfare. So far, many SCBA’s on health and social welfare issues are drafted from a macro perspective with barely any focus on the individual civilian and corresponding context. To overcome this objection, this research advocates an indicative SCBA (iSCBA), i.e., a SCBA through a context-sensitive lens of a local health care and welfare organization or network. In this approach, the consecutive research steps are explored in a bottom-up direction, starting with an innovation in a local organization and network and subsequently investigating all possible social cost-benefit effects, including spill-over effects outside the organization.
Approach: In terms of research design, a series of case studies were conducted with the cooperation of alumni of the Master Integrated Care Design of the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. At the time these alumni were interviewed, they were involved in implementing a health care or welfare innovation. For the purpose of this innovation, these alumni had prepared an iSCBA. During the interviews, alumni were asked how their iSCBA were assessed by decision-making colleagues and whether the assumptions, as substantiated in their iSCBA, materialized.
Results: The case studies affirm that complementing the innovation proposal with an iSCBA was a convincing step in the assessments by decision makers. Moreover, several cases show how an iSCBA offered welcome arguments in the deliberations with both internal stakeholders such as board of directors, as well as external stakeholders such as health insurance companies. Several cases report that the presumed cause-effect relations and working mechanisms in the iSCBA were recognized as plausible and feasible by the stakeholders involved. Whether the presumptions practically materialized was difficult to verify. Although interviewees in all case studies were able to identify and demonstrate beneficial effects thanks to the innovation, it proved to be difficult to statistically estimate the impact of these effects due to the interfering effects of parallel developments, both inside and outside the organization and network.
