Abstract:
In light of current world economics heading towards a direction that demands a refurbished theoretical guidance, Huang, Mu and Huang’s (1990, 1991) “Overall Development of Global Economics” model - also affectionately known as the "4-ways, 2-forms" hypothesis - serves as a research guideline and a basic framework of economical development problems. Economical development throughout the history of mankind has experienced three phases, each phase bearing its own characteristics. While today’s developing countries linger in the era of nature driven self-sufficiency, developed countries have surged ahead into a phase of post-information economy where information technology serves as the backbone of Information Economic Era. At present, the financial disparities between nations often and inevitably produce conflicts driven by socio-economical differences and the resultant ideologies. What are the orientations in economic development for less developed countries, developing countries and developed countries? Why does conflict between them arise and what causes this? How can they be resolved? These have become focal issues of concern among economist.

Abstract:
In this research I try to understand the social and cultural imprint of the appropriation processes of information and communication technologies (ICT), particularly mobile phones, by farmers from the Boucle du Mouhoun region, in Burkina Faso. The main research hypothesis is the existence of reciprocal influences between the construction process of ICT uses and the social and cultural organization of local communities. With a social and cultural approach, this research explores changes in power relations, identities and forms of communication within these communities in relation to the use of ICT. The reasoning is supported by theoretical and empirical sources. On the one hand, I refer to the Sociology of uses, to the Ethnology of techniques, but mainly to the Ethnomethodology’s program and to the Actor network theory. On the other hand, I rely on visits to projects applying ICT for rural development in India and West Africa, and most importantly, on a six-month long fieldwork in Burkina Faso. The methodology adopted orientates research efforts towards understanding local realities instead of representing them with external patterns, hence reinforcing the importance attributed to reflexivity and decentring. Beyond practical conclusions on the social and cultural appropriation of ICT, the most important contribution of my research is methodological. I propose strategies to understand a specific field reality by successive approximations, particularly suited when the researcher is a foreigner to the context of the research

Abstract:
AbstractEstablishing linkage among data of diverse domains (e.g. biological, environmental, socio-economical, and geographical) is critical to address complex multidimensional issues such as food security or sustainable agriculture. The complexity of this challenge increases with the level of heterogeneity of the data but also with the social context of production of datasets, a dimension usually less considered. Building on the experience of a transdisciplinary project on the diversity of crop diversity management systems in West Africa (CoEx), this chapter reflects on the importance to better account for agency for more meaningful, responsible and efficient plant data linkage. The chapter addresses sequentially the cognitive and political challenges related to data work and the way they could be addressed simultaneously within the same social unit. To do this, we rely on the concept of community of practice (CoP) which gained enormous popularity in relation to data and knowledge management. More than simply a social mechanism for community knowledge management, we show in this contribution that CoP needs to be approached as a social experiment and a terrain of collective situated learning in order to address each challenge and their linkages with respect to data work.

Abstract:
Postindustrialization today belongs to the most important criteria of national economic competitiveness and a factor which directly determines country's positioning in the world economy and international labor distribution. Under the conditions of resource potential limitedness of industrial development as such, this makes extremely actual the search for new principles and new mechanisms for accelerated postindustrial modernization. In this chapter we carry out the analysis of postindustrialization as a socioeconomic phenomenon in order to reveal the fundamental causes of its origin and the whole wide spectrum of its consequences which are supposed to transform the global economic system. We also plan to present the conceptual grounds of infrastructural and institutional provision for postindustrial modernization viewed here as a large-scale reform of a socioeconomic system of a country under the intellectualization of production relations initiated and fully supported by the state.

Pathways of socio-economic development are still exploratory, and, despite an increase in socio-economic development research, many challenges remain in designing an inclusive model of socio-economic development through skill training. This chapter addresses the issues related to skill training and, consequently, the impact of training on social and economic changes by combining the theories of socio-economic development. A lot of attention has been paid to the economic and ecological aspects of sustainable development, especially at the national level, but little has been given to the analysis of the implications of sustainable skill training on the quality of life and on socio-economical aspects of communities that are directly affected by the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) industry, particularly in developing countries. This chapter looks at issues surrounding sustainable skill training as a tool for socio-economic development in developing countries, using existing models and theories on development and training.

Abstract This chapter explores how the connections between governance principles, collective actors, and workplace relations have developed in the Dutch busi¬ness system. In order to identify the governance principles (Kristensen, this volume) which regulate the formation and interaction of social groupings in the Netherlands, attention will first be directed to the geographical and socio-economical characteristics of late medieval ‘Holland ‘ and, next, to the early history of the Republic of the Netherlands (seventeenth century) when the rebellious Dutch provinces gained unity and identity in their combat against the Spanish overlordship and the ubiquitous water, and when merchant elites grasped the opportunities offered by expanding over¬ seas trade and the favourable location of the maritime part of the Netherlands.

Abstract:
The purpose of this chapter is to conceptualize e-learning as a socio-cultural ecological system and to explore the empirical evidences of the objective and subjective conditions for using this concept in practice for increasing the participation in higher education. The components of this new concept are a systemic-constructivist competence, pedagogical leadership, life- and workforce learning, and self-evaluation. The objective conditions for its implementation are the integration of informal knowledge of information and communication technologies, implementing pedagogical leadership in tandems for developing students' intrapreneurship, self-evaluation, and self-enhancement. The subjective conditions are personal involvement, supportive social climate, and eagerness for transforming challenges into new learning opportunities. E-learning as a socio-cultural ecological system fosters students' and faculty staff's participation, producing new knowledge and pedagogical solutions that create synergy between science, education, and politics. This enhances economical growth and sustainable development that benefits the whole ecological system in local, regional, national, European, and global socio-cultural contexts.

Each country aims a prosperous life standard, and therefore follows socio-economical policies. The consequences of the policies determine their level of growth. There are many indications that show the level of their growth. In 1991, having declared its independence, Uzbekistan has undertaken the role of being a key country in Middle East with its rich cultural values, deep-rooted history, geopolitical location, and its economical potential. In addition, there have been several prominent factors which contribute country's level of growth such as cheap labor, high farming potential, and rich natural resources like oil and gas. In this study, the development of selected macro socio-economic values of Uzbekistan between 1991 and 2016 will be analyzed, and there will be economical and political suggestions for the future.

Abstract:
In the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Gross Domestic Product indicator for 2021 has exceeded 3 billion manats, where the highest indicator is related to industrial production with 35%. The development of the industry, which has a large share in the Gross Domestic Product, depends on the efficient and correct organization of industrial areas on the territory, and this plays an important role in the development of the national economy and in ensuring social protection. The correct and efficient location of industrial production ensures the efficient use of natural resources, improvement of the employment level of the population, increase of labor productivity and production efficiency based on economical use of economic resources, optimal socio-economic development of economic regions. The location of the industrial enterprise affects the development of transportation, communication and other areas in the region, the supply of energy and raw materials for production, the complexity of interregional and intersectoral relations, and the increasing importance of environmental protection. As a result of all this, effective placement on the territory plays a positive role in the development of both the society and the country in a certain sense.

Abstract:
Curriculum should be more student choice about what they study - we agree with this statement of John White. Our approach provide a way of considering student opinion in a course which can be easily adapted to many courses aiming to shift from a "fixed" syllabus (teacher empowered) to an adaptive one. In order to establish the student's opinion on the course it can be useful to consider steps like: focus group meetings, course (specific) questioners, discussions/debates considering questioner results, deciding and implementing useful findings. We present our proposed architecture of this steps based on findings results from a real based quantitative analysis (responded by 62 first year students) and discussed their implications in future management actions of the course (co)design process. Advantages and disadvantages of this approaches, problems that can be encountered, course effectiveness methods, student progress are topics that are also discussed. Industry and socio-economical point of view, considering students as joint authors of research results are other methods recommended as improvements of the proposed architecture. We want to emphasize that this approaches (which include student voice) are helpful for teachers and students being supportive for course design and update conjointly with student engagement in learning and other educational aspects (feedback, marks, active involvement, motivation, autonomy, attendance/drop-out, skills, competences, applied research projects, informal learning, long-life learning, student satisfaction, teacher-student relationship and many others). Taking into consideration of student voice along with industry and socio-economical environment voice can therefore facilitate and support for qualitatively superior teaching and learning process as well as human development.

Abstract:
Globalization notion is encountered not only economically, but also politically, culturally, technologically and ecologically. Environmental problems seen national at first glance can cause regional and subsequently global problems. Climate changes create regional, social and economic problems in terms of effects thereof. Many factors such as continuation of rapid population growth, proliferation of water problems, increase of global warming and irrevocable habits of countries can lead to world pollution and impairment of environment. Industrialization, population growth and excessive consumption tendency on the one hand and need for balanced use of natural sources such that energy can meet needs of future generations on the other hand has rendered “environment” and “development” subjects substitute for each other. While increase of welfare and happiness of people are aimed with economic development, socio-economical costs caused by global climate change threaten this welfare cycle. A variety of sources extinct due to global warming and some of them cannot be effectively used in a desirable level. This situation prevents economic productivity. Global climate change problem should be reevaluated with not only conventional sustainable development approach but also in a global plane containing new political ecology notions such as “environmental justice” and “climate justice”. For this purpose, each of us has a role to play and also, novel law and policies are required that will lead global-scale solutions. In this study, relationship between global climate change and sustainable development approach will be handled within the scope of a new tendency.

Abstract:
We argue that capitalist model in society and its success criteria as benefit and profit maximizations have been under heavy attacks these days. The argument in the center of the discussion in this paper is about there being serious distress in moral and socio-cultural indicators, though relatively rise in economical growth indicators. Thus, we argue that global economy suffers deepest moral crisis in line with the proportional shares that governments, international companies, big or small enterprises and their owners bear upon. Among the signs of this moral collapse, we point for unhealthy products to general health, unfair competitive actions, illusive commercials, price-quality inequalities, labor exploitations, bribery scandals and also environmental ruins around. In this point the sole solution for increase in societal trust of social and economical actors is, in our side, clear to take moral principles and standards as a reference. We argue that benefit, or profit maximization based approaches focusing on material gaining in professional life do not provide effective motivations. Rather approaches that putting internal character development forward and aiming good internal mood based on virtue should be placed in professional life. We see virtue based moral approach as a novel formula for regaining humanity where there are increasing rates of uncertainty and distrust. This study aims to show that commercial and economical activities could not be designed as exempted from moral codes and motives, rather it insists on that some notions as character, and virtue should be in heart in place of responsibility, duty, or benefit.

Abstract:
The reforms in education are determinated by the requirements of the socio-economical development adapted to the labour market, the existing possibilities, the economical conditions, the development of education sciences and educational policy and to the managerial skills in the field of education. Teachers need to be appropiate and adapted to the needs of society and to the learners, and to have basic behaviors specific to the learning- educational activity. The course and laboratory activities must have the role of presenting the ways of inciting of interest and curiosity for the studied disciplines and of opening new communication channels. The new didactics of cognitivist type, the didactics of learning specific intellect capabilities or that based on the multiple intelligence theory represent large leaps in the field of teaching. The new content of the learning can no longer be developed within the limits of the traditional learning practice, producing the transformation of the teachers in the designing curriculum specialists. The work presents aspects regarding the active and interactive learning, the interactive teaching-learning methods and their importance in the study of environmental protection disciplines. The modern didactics places the student at the center of the learning process, participating to the own training, and the teacher has the role of design, organize, lead and correct the work itself, in order to develop the intelligence and the learning of the appropiate conduct. The modern methods: the lecture, the teaching demonstration, the problem-solving, the experiment, the brainstorming, the double entry journal, the SINELG, the gallery tour, the cube, the snowball, the mosaic, are considered relevant in making the education reform, to place the student at the center of the learning process. For each method are presented examples in the study of the environmental disciplines.
