Abstract:
Generalmente se considera que el género cómico es uno de los que mejor reflejan la realidad social del momento, aunque es importante distinguir cuándo la invención de los poetas predomina sobre la verosimilitud de los hechos auténticos. Esta realidad se refleja también en el ámbito lingüístico, en el cual se pueden distinguir diferentes estratos y condiciones sociales, dependiendo del tipo de lenguaje que empleen los personajes. En nuestro estudio nos ocupamos de una determinada parte de la sociedad, la femenina, y de la comedia de Aristófanes y Menandro. Nuestro objetivo es ofrecer una síntesis de las características más destacadas de los sociolectos mostrados por ambos cómicos, tratando de insistir en su evolución.

Abstract:
Este trabajo se propone analizar la variable presencia / ausencia del pronombre personal sujeto junto a un verbo conjugado en el español hablado de la comunidad urbana de Sevilla. En concreto, intentamos establecer cuáles son los factores internos y externos que determinan el empleo del sujeto pronominal en una muestra de 24 entrevistas semidirigidas correspondientes al sociolecto alto y que forman del corpus PRESEEA en la ciudad. Para ello, seguimos la guía de codificación propuesta por Bentivoglio, Ortiz y Silva-Corvalán (2011) para el proyecto panhispánico PRESEEA. Los resultados muestran que el pronombre sujeto se utiliza un 24,8%, y parece estar condicionado, entre otros, por criterios como persona gramatical, especificidad, ambigüedad de la forma verbal, clase semántica del verbo, correfencialidad, edad, etc. This study aims to analysis the variable presence/absence of the personal pronoun subject with a conjugated verb in Spanish language spoken in the city of Seville. Specifically, we try to stablish which internal or external factors are involved in the pronominal subject use in a sample of 24 semi-controlled interviews corresponding to the high sociolect and taken from the PRESEEA-Seville corpus. For this, we base our analysis on the coding guidelines proposed by Bentivoglio, Ortiz and Silva-Corvalán (2011) for the PRESEEA panhispanic project. The results show that the subject pronoun is used in 24,8% and it is conditioned by different criteria, such as grammatical person, specificity, ambiguity of the verbal form, semantic class of the verb, co-reference or age.

Abstract:
Actualmente, resulta innegable que Netflix se ha instaurado en España como una de las plataformas VOD más exitosas del panorama audiovisual. Una de las claves de su éxito es la variedad de producciones disponibles, que satisfacen a suscriptores de todas las edades y grupos sociales. Una de las series más populares entre la población joven es Sex Education (2019), que se ha atrevido a representar fielmente el comportamiento y el habla de los adolescentes frente a situaciones cotidianas relacionadas con la sexualidad, reproduciendo su lenguaje sin ningún tipo de tabú. En el presente estudio realizamos un análisis de la traducción (EN-ES) del sociolecto juvenil en lo que respecta al argot sexual, con el fin de determinar el registro lingüístico predominante tanto en la cultura británica como en la española, así como los niveles de intensidad de la terminología empleada en ambas lenguas. Finalmente, evaluamos el efecto causado por la presencia del lenguaje sexual entre el público joven español para comprobar si el doblaje proporciona el mismo grado de naturalidad y adecuación del sociolecto, de modo que asegure el éxito de Sex Education entre sus consumidores.

Abstract:
El objetivo de este artículo consiste en describir el uso etimológico/no etimológico de las formas personales le y les en la ciudad de Sevilla. Para llevar a cabo nuestro propósito, hemos analizado una muestra de habla compuesta por 48 entrevistas del sociolecto alto y bajo, pertenecientes al Corpus PRESEEA-Sevilla. Se ha trabajado, así, con una plantilla de codificación que analiza la posible incidencia de 38 variables independientes (lingüísticas, estilísticas y sociales) en la actualización de los clíticos pronominales le y les. Los datos obtenidos ponen de manifiesto una tendencia conservadora, es decir, la preferencia por el uso etimológico por parte de los hablantes sevillanos. Con respecto a la aparición de usos no etimológicos, el elemento más importante es la presencia de un referente personal, que se da en la mayoría de las ocasiones en que aparece leísmo. Por factores sociales, la primera generación y las mujeres muestran mayor tendencia al leísmo. En cambio, la tercera generación es la más reticente. En cuanto al nivel de instrucción, son los sociolectos altos los que más uso hacen de formas le/les no etimológicas. Respecto a los tipos de leísmo, es decir, leísmo aparente y leísmo real, que emplean los hablantes en Sevilla, es el primero el que predomina en esta comunidad de habla.

En este artículo se analiza el proceso de mantenimiento y elisión de la /d/ intervocálica en el español hablado en la ciudad de Sevilla. Para ello nos hemos basado en los materiales de sociolecto alto de PRESEEA-Sevilla, que se compone de 24 encuestas semidirigidas grabadas entre los años 2009 y 2015. Nuestro objetivo es analizar qué factores lingüísticos y extralingüísticos (sociales y estilísticos) inciden en la variación fonológica de la dental. Los resultados se han obtenido mediante un análisis estadístico de correlaciones bivariantes y de regresión que estudia la incidencia de las variables lingüísticas independientes en la conservación o elisión del sonido intervocálico. La investigación se completa con una descripción de los usos individuales de los hablantes en los entornos fónicos general y -ado.

Los estudios sobre la écfrasis poética han puesto de presente la naturaleza elusiva de su representación. El propósito de este artículo es confirmar esta hipótesis, analizando recursos de orden retórico, hermenéutico y crítico en dos poemas del poeta colombiano Álvaro Mutis. Para ello se rastrea la presencia del sociolecto del arte en los poemas, se examina la superposición de lo crítico y valorativo sobre lo descriptivo y se analizan los contextos estéticos que enmarcan los dos cuadros a los que aluden los poemas.

Abstract:
El propósito de este artículo consiste en describir el uso del discurso reproducido en una muestra de habla compuesta por 24 entrevistas del sociolecto alto, pertenecientes al Cor­pus PRESEEA-Sevilla. Para ello, hemos trabajado con una plantilla de codificación formada por 8 variables independientes —lingüísticas, pragmáticas y sociales—. Los datos obteni­dos muestran una preferencia por el uso del discurso directo por parte de los hablantes entrevistados. Además, este recurso permite graduar el tipo de cita atendiendo al nivel de compromiso con el discurso referido. El marco introductor preferido por estos informantes es mediante un verbo y decir es el más empleado para introducir las palabras referidas. Asi­mismo, según los factores sociales, son la primera generación y las mujeres quienes mues­tran mayor tendencia al uso del discurso reproducido.

El término “evangelio” (griego: euaggelion) se ha estudiado en el marco de un modelo diacrónico que ha impedido percibir claramente los diversos significados que los primeros seguidores de Jesús dieron a esta palabra. A pesar de ello, los primeros escritos cristianos dan testimonio de que estos diversos sentidos coexistieron hasta mediados del siglo segundo. El presente estudio identifica dos trayectorias presentes en dichos escritos y propone una explicación de los significados que la palabra “evangelio” adquirió en ellos, observando que estos dos significados surgieron en dos contextos diversos (la tierra de Israel y la Diáspora), que determinaron la comprensión de esta palabra clave del sociolecto cristiano.

Sociolect is studied as a complex of a language unique features that are characteristic for some of the social group. Abstract:

El presente estudio trata de la traducción al sueco de regionalismos ecuatorianos en la novela Huasipungo escrita por Jorge Icaza y traducida al sueco por Rudolf Berner. La traducción de un texto de ese tipo es intrincada, ya que implica transmitir elementos dialectales sin equivalencia en la lengua meta. Se examinan las estrategias del traductor ante una obra íntimamente relacionada con la cultura y la realidad del texto fuente. Suponemos que la traducción da prioridad a la fidelidad al texto fuente, y que esto puede conllevar un texto meta a veces difícil de entender.

Llegamos a la conclusión de que la traducción en algunos sentidos muestra una intención de ser fiel al texto fuente, por ejemplo en el caso de las palabras que aparecen sin traducir en el texto meta, pero que, al mismo tiempo, muestra una desfiguración del texto original en el caso del habla típica de la región.

El estudio muestra que una traducción aparentemente fiel en un aspecto por ejemplo estructural, o semántico, muchas veces resulta problemático desde el punto de vista estilístico y/o pragmático.

Cette recherche a pour objectif d'engager une discussion sur les processus deconstruction identitaire du sujet noir dans la société brésilienne actuelle à partir de l'étude desimages projetées par le RAP brésilien sur une période de 20 ans allant de 1990 à 2010. L'undes axes principaux de ce travail explore la thématique des "minorités" et ses conceptsafférents, comme les projets de "résistance" qui enferment et protègent ces "minorités" dansdes "ghettos" ou les éventuelles propositions de franchissement des frontières entre centre etpériphérie.Le RAP, constitué à partir des éléments "rythme et poésie" (de l'anglais rhythm and poetry),est l'héritier d'une longue tradition historique qui revisite et réélabore les chants, danses etbatuques (groupes de percussion) traditionnels dans la culture africaine depuis le XVIèmesiècle. Partant de cette tradition, le RAP apparaît à la Jamaïque et aux Etats-Unis dans lesannées 1960, avant d'arriver au Brésil vers la fin des années 1980.Dans ce travail, un chapitre préliminaire présente les origines du RAP et ses relations avec leHip Hop et les mouvements noirs, afin de contextualiser cette production et de fournir deséléments permettant de visualiser le panorama du RAP au Brésil. Le corps de la thèse estconstitué par l'analyse des paroles composées par quatre artistes de la tendance RAP: legroupe Racionais MC's, de São Paulo, et les rappers MV Bill, de Rio de Janeiro, GOG, deBrasília, et Piá, de Porto Alegre.La thèse est divisée en quatre chapitres présentant chacun les spécificités des différentsartistes et des Régions du Brésil dont ils sont originaires et où ils sont plus particulièrementintégrés. Ils comportent une analyse de leur production musicale et des compositions jugéesles plus pertinentes qui met en évidence la thématique de la discrimination ethnique et sociale,ainsi que la violence urbaine qui résulte des trafics de drogue, des actes homicides, de laviolence et de la corruption policière, de la démission et de la négligence de l'Etat en tant quegarant de l'ordre public, de la corruption politique, d'un consumérisme exacerbé lié aucapitalisme, de la ségrégation sociale, et des processus qui entraînent le pays vers des formesde paupérisation et de "favélisation".Cette recherche apprécie le caractère pédagogique du discours du RAP et discute lespropositions émanant d'un énonciateur qui se présente comme le porte-parole de lapériphérie. Elle analyse les projets et les contradictions de cette voix périphérique dans leprocessus de construction et de valorisation des référents identitaires de la périphérie et laplace réservée au Noir dans ce processus. Dans cette optique, elle se penche sur le caractèreéminemment oral des compositions, à l'origine d'un sociolecte qui, outre le fait d'être unmoyen de résister aux formes hégémoniques imposées par le centre, devient, au final, l'un desprincipaux référents identitaires de la communauté.

O objetivo desta dissertação é apresentar uma proposta de tradução para as falas das personagens que usam o dialeto de Yorkshire no romance Wuthering Heights. O romance, publicado pela primeira vez na Inglaterra em 1847, já teve nove traduções diferentes no Brasil, bem como diversas reimpressões; e a existência desta proposta se deve ao fato de todas as traduções deixarem de lado a questão dialetal e apresentarem a fala dessas personagens dentro da norma culta da língua portuguesa. Consideramos que é necessário manter nas traduções em português a heterogeneidade existente no original inglês, pois essa é uma característica importante que não deve ser ignorada, principalmente depois que estudos lingüísticos e sociolingüísticos mostraram que dialetos não são formas inferiores de uma língua \"padrão\", correta. Levando em consideração as diferenças lingüísticas existentes entre a Inglaterra e o Brasil, e tendo por base estudos dialetológicos e o uso de elementos da oralidade para a criação das falas, a proposta de tradução pretende mostrar ao leitor brasileiro o fato de algumas personagens do romance não usarem o inglês standard ao falar, bem como uma análise sobre o papel desempenhado pelo uso do dialeto em diferentes momentos da narrativa.
The main purpose of this dissertation is to propose a translation for the speech of the characters that speak Yorkshire dialect in the novel Wuthering Heights. This novel, published for the first time in England in 1847, has already been translated nine times into Brazilian Portuguese; besides, these translations have also been reissued here. This dissertation has as its basis the fact that in all nine Brazilian translations the Yorkshire dialect has been rendered into standard Portuguese. We consider that it is necessary to keep in Portuguese the linguistic diversity found in the original text, since it is a very important characteristic of the novel that cannot be ignored, most of all because linguistic and sociolinguistic studies have shown that dialects are not \"inferior\" forms of a \"standard\", correct, language. Taking into consideration the linguistic differences that exist between English and Brazilian Portuguese, and having as basis dialectological studies and the use of elements of oral language to create the speech of the characters in Portuguese, this work intends to show to Brazilian readers the fact that some characters in the novel do not speak standard English, as well as an analysis about the role played by the use of dialect in different moments of the novel.

In this dissertation we examine variation, in both speech and writing, in the South Sotho spoken in Lesotho. We indicate that the South Sotho used by a majority of speakers today shows a shift from both earlier and prescribed varieties. Open-ended questionnaires and informal conversations were used to study aspects of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and the lexicon of South Sotho. Samples were collected from speakers with ages ranging from twelve to over eighty. The dissertation shows that the age, social status, sex and locality of speakers are contributing factors in their language repertoire. We argue that South Sotho lacks the homogeneity that is claimed by language purists in Lesotho, and therefore has non-standard varieties, namely, dialects and sociolects. Although the structure of standard South Sotho sentences is relatively stable, the phonology, lexicon and semantics are indicative of major endogenous and exogenous changes. On the other hand, Sotho morphology shows endogenous changes only. The influence of English on South Sotho is increasing at the expense of Afrikaans influence.

Abstract:
This thesis will serve as a case study on the translation of sociolectal literature, using my translation into English of Acadian author Georgette LeBlanc’s second collection of poetry, Amédé, as a paradigm. Written in the Baie Sainte-Marie Acadian French sociolect, this work represents an interesting example of the difficulties that can arise while translating minority language literature, from both a linguistic and discursive perspective. Broadly speaking, the objective of my analysis will be to explore the relationship between the literary representation of sociolect and the creation of underlying networks of meaning, focusing on both the linguistic and discursive aspects of LeBlanc’s choices in portraying Baie Sainte-Marie Acadian French in order to justify my translation of her work into African Nova Scotian English, also referred to as Africadian English.

This thesis analyses the use of sociolects in Michel Tremblay's Sainte Carmen de la Main , David Fennario's On the Job and Vittorio Rossi's Scarpone. The term sociolect identifies the language variation of a specific social group. The social groups then subdivide into various other categories which use sociolect sub-genres. The authors use the sociolects of the working class and the sociolect sub-genres of members of this social class who share similar occupations to create the hyperlanguage of their characters. In using such language variations, the authors show the aesthetic qualities of the working-class sociolect, and show the cohesive and protestative properties of a language variation that differs from the culturally established norms.

Abstract:
Our hypothesis lies in the notion that texts are an intrinsic part of the discourses of the society to which they belong. As the written work is under the influence of the social discourses to which it pertains, so does its translation comply with the expectations of the target reader by incorporating socio-discursive elements from the receiving society. In this thesis, we explore the translation of sociolects as symbolic representations of speech. Our corpus consists of three American plays from the realist theatre, three French translations written in the fifties, and five Quebecois translations, three of which were produced in the seventies. The comparison of French and Quebecois translations enables us to observe that the changes denounce an adaptation of the original text to certain socio-discursive models in the target society which include the theatre aesthetics of the time. The discursive patterns that we noted in the original plays refer to two main themes in realist theatre: the American family and the American dream. After having analysed these elements according to the mainstream ideas prevailing at that particular time, we identified the modified sections of the text in the translations and commented on the new patterns that were emerging. Finally, we demonstrated that these transformations can be explained in terms of aesthetic, stylistic, and thematic tendencies adopted by the target society. In conclusion, this study shows that despite the translator's attempts to "faithfully" reproduce a text, he establishes links between the two theatre forms by adapting the original to the acceptability terms of the target society.

Abstract:
This chapter examines the idea of Latinitas, Latinity, the quality of writing and speaking a pure Latin, which in its history from the beginnings of Latin literature in the third century bce has been both a socio-linguistic and a literary critical, stylistic category. Constitutive influences have been the standardization of the language of the capital as the language of an empire, the development of Latin literary styles, and the teaching of Latin in the various Roman schools. Latin was the dialect of Latium, the sociolect of the ruling elite, the language of imperial and military administration, and as a consequence of the last a far-flung language. Latinity as a norm thus faced considerable challenges. In the context of the later schools, ancient and medieval, Latinity came to be a norm to preserve the written language and a science (grammar) to discover and check rules of orthography and expression.

No mundo existen na actualidade máis de 6000 linguas que son faladas por comunidades que viven en 195 países recoñecidos internacionalmente. En consecuencia, contra unha visión que propugna o monolingüismo como normalidade lingüística, resulta obrigado concluír que o contacto de linguas e variedades non é unha anormalidade, senón que é un feito inevitable e unha constante na historia das comunidades humanas. Neste sentido, a situación do galego e a das outras linguas peninsulares non resulta singular nin extraordinaria. Sen irmos máis lonxe, no ámbito ibérico dáse contacto entre as variedades orixinarias (galego, castelán, asturiano, portugués, vasco, aranés, catalán, aragonés etc.) e entre estas e outras faladas por inmigrantes, os seus descendentes e residentes estranxeiros (romanés, árabe, alemán, wu, quechua etc.). Neste volume reúnense sete traballos que abordan a análise de diferentes situacións de contacto de variedades lingüísticas peninsulares desde distintas perspectivas. Nun grupo de traballos estúdanse as consecuencias do contacto entre variedades identificadas como linguas e con distintas relacións de semellanza (galego, castelán, vasco, catalán, mirandés, portugués, asturiano), noutro preséntase a análise da confluencia de variedades relacionadas cunha mesma lingua (galego urbano, galego tradicional, castelán estándar, sociolectos andaluces etc.). As análises son realizadas desde diferentes modelos teóricos e reparando en distintos aspectos do sistema lingüístico. O conxunto de contribucións axuda a entender mellor a complexidade dos procesos de contacto e a recoñecer o interese destas investigacións para o avance do coñecemento lingüístico.

Abstract:
A novel “Southern Scum Go Home!”(Ljubljana 2008) by G. Vojnović addresses the lives of the two generations of immigrants from the southern republics of the former Yugoslavia in Slovenia; they received the pejorative designation “čefur” (scum) in the Slovenian language. The essay points out specific linguistic phenomena that emerge when several related cultures and languages come into contact. These phenomena include: marginal sociolect of the first generation of immigrants which is a form of interlanguage, and the excessive sociolect of the second bilingual generation, an example of the mixed language, as well as a significant factor in the devopment of the urban youth subculture of “čefurs.” We examine these phenomena and the inherent processes of lexical, morphological and syntactic hybridization of the Slovenian and Serbo-Croatian language codes. The immigrant border-zone world between the two different realms creates a complex and contradictory form of transcultural self-identification, language being one of the active tools.
