Abstract:
The use of sociometric research in pedagogy implies consideration of methodological demands pertaining to the selection and formulation of sociometric criteria, the selection of sociometric techniques, instruments and sociometric group classification methods. Various authors agree that sociometric criteria are basic relevant activities of the group they refer to and that they should be meaningful, understandable to every group member and clearly and precisely formulated. The selection of the appropriate sociometric technique and instrument has to be adjusted with the goal of sociometric research, along with the consideration of the advantages and short?comings of different sociometric techniques and instruments. The existing research provides very divergent results on the adequacy of different classification methods in identifying stable sociometric groups. Still, the majority of studies have confirmed that the two-dimensional rating scale method yields more stable classifications than the classification methods based on peer nominations, as well as that it is methodologically more justifiable to use cluster analysis in identifying stable sociometric status groups than the traditional classification methods.

Abstract:
Many immigrants experience acculturation stress, which arises from the difficulties and conflicts immigrants face as they adjust to a new culture. Without the support of prevention and intervention services, acculturation stress can result in an increased risk for aggressive behavior and mental health problems. Entre Dos Mundos/Between Two Worlds is an acculturation-based intervention that uses psychodrama, sociodrama, and sociometric techniques to decrease acculturation stress among Latino immigrant adolescents and their parents. An example of an Entre Dos Mundos group session presented in this article illustrates the application of psychodrama and sociometric techniques and discusses their utility in decreasing acculturation stress and promoting biculturalism.

Abstract:
<p class="Abstract">Sociometry is something that can be used in studying the structure of social relations among a group of individuals on the basis of research on social relations and social status of each member of the group concerned. Currently the service of sociometric instruments in the guidance and counseling laboratory of the Bukittinggi State Islamic Institute is still using conventional techniques using Ms.Excel. It is done manually using the distribution of questionnaires, Ms.Excel, which is still combined with Ms.Acces, which is not online yet , so that it can only be distributed in labor, and the next problem is that the application that uses Ms.Excel cannot yet display sociometric reports graphically. The research method that the author uses is the R&amp;D Research &amp; Development method with a waterfall SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) system development model consisting of the Communication.Planning.Modeling stages. Construction.Deployment. For the product test that the author did, the results obtained: the validity test by the validator obtained a value of 0.85 with valid criteria, the practicality test by the practitioner obtained a value of 0.83 with the Very Practical criteria, and the effectiveness test by the effectivator obtained a value of 0.75 with the Very Effective criteria.</p>

The objective of this study is to present a comparative board of the evolution of the strategy as practice approach by means of sociometric and bibliometric analyzes combined with statistical techniques applied to the set of papers available on the Web Isi of Knowledge. The analyzes of periods before and after 2007 indicates evolution on the main group of authors of the strategy as practice approach, but yet with a high amount of peripheral authors. Results indicated a relationship between bibliometric and sociometric data and evidenced that network analysis is a relevant tool for treating data allowing the comprehension of the intellectual structure of a discipline, the identification of significant differences between periods in terms of productivity of authors and the inference about possible evolutionary patterns.

Abstract:
Abstract Do word-of-mouth and other peer influence processes really affect how quickly people adopt a new product? Can one identify the most influential customers and hence those who are good seeding points for a word-of-mouth marketing campaign? Can one also identify those customers most likely to be influenced by their peers? A pharmaceutical company seeking to improve its marketing effectiveness by leveraging social dynamics among physicians set out to answer these questions. There is indeed evidence of social influence, even after controlling for sales calls and individual characteristics. Also, people who are central in the network and those who use the product intensively are more influential. Finally, people who view themselves as opinion leaders are less affected by peer influence, whereas people who others really turn to for information or advice are not differentially affected. This last finding suggests that self-reported opinion leadership captures self-confidence, whereas a central position in the social network captures true leadership. Since sociometric techniques identify true opinion leaders more effectively than self-reports do, word-of-mouth programs targeting sociometric leaders are expected to be more effective than programs targeting self-reported leaders

Abstract:
The relationship of parent and teacher ratings of social skills and problem behaviors, using the Social Skills Rating System with two peer-referenced measures (the Peer Nomination Technique and the Pupil Evaluation Inventory), were examined with a sample of regular education fifth- and sixth-grade students. The differential magnitudes of parent and teacher ratings with sociometric reports were examined as indicators of convergent and discriminant validity. The relationships among scales of prosocial and problem behaviors were found to be logically consistent. Teacher ratings of social skills, problem behaviors, and academic competence showed moderate correlations with both peer measures. Parent ratings of social skills and problem behaviors were similarly related, but at somewhat lower magnitudes.

Abstract:
The effects of selective missingness on the size of observed correlations between scores derived from peer assessment procedures were examined with a sample of 719 boys and girls drawn from 57 peer groups in seven schools in Montréal, Québec, Canada or Barranquilla, a city on the northern Caribbean coast of Colombia in Latin America. Peer groups (i.e., the boys or girls within in a school classroom) in which participation rates exceeded 90% were randomly assigned to either a “complete” or a “missing” group. In separate procedures, children whose scores placed them above the 20th percentile for their group were excluded from the “missing” groups on measures of passive withdrawal, popularity, and aggression. When the correlations observed with the “complete” groups were compared with the correlations observed with the “missing” groups, few differences were observed. These findings are discussed within the context of the effects of missing data on peer assessment techniques and the factors underlying the association between different peer assessment measures.

Abstract:
This article outlines a mixed method approach to social network analysis combining techniques of organizational history development, inductive data structuring, and content analysis to offer a novel approach for network data construction and analysis. This approach provides researchers with a number of benefits over traditional sociometric or other interpersonal methodologies including the ability to investigate networks of greater scope, broader access to diverse social actors, reduced informant bias, and increased capability for longitudinal designs. After detailing this approach, we apply the method on a sample of 143 new ventures and suggest opportunities for general application in entrepreneurship, strategic management, and organizational behavior research.

Abstract:
The study focused on the relationships between locus of control, positive persuasion, prosocial leadership and popularity of children in Grades 3, 4, and 5. Locus of Control was assessed by a general measure and a measure specific to the social domain. The Children's Self-efficacy for Peer Interaction Scale was used to assess positive persuasion and sociometric techniques were used with peers and teachers to assess prosocial leadership and popularity. Internality was positively associated with positive persuasion in Grades 4 and 5. Social locus of control correlated significantly with leadership and popularity measures in Grades 4 and 5. Positive persuasion was not associated with the leadership/popularity measures. The results generally confirmed the important role of social locus of control in the achievement of social status.

Abstract:
Nowadays fitness and health and sport activities organized for co-workers are an important tool to create and strengthen corporate culture. However, ways to assess effectiveness of such activities are still poorly explored. As we can see from theoretical and applied researches by the article authors during planning and organization of corporate physical and sport activities, companies rarely try to generate metrics allowing to track effectiveness of those activities and adjust program for development of corporate culture. The article analyzes possibilities of sociometric procedure, Event ROI methodology, criterial approach to assessing effectiveness of fitness and sport activities, provided by the organization. The authors come to a conclusion that when implementing practices of corporate sport and fitness programs for co-workers it is necessary to develop metrics for effectiveness assessment, create a balanced system of metrics as a system for strategic management of employees’ health. It is claimed, that in order to create successful and strong corporate culture, the fitness and sport activities should be regular, they should have a systemic approach and provide a well-organized system for monitoring and management.

Abstract:
This study aimed at comparing the stability of three methods for two-dimensional sociometric status determination, including (1) the recently developed SSrat technique (Maassen, Akkermans, & Van der Linden, 1996), as well as (2) the procedure of Howes (1988), which is based on the algorithm and classification criteria of Coie and Dodge (1983), and (3) a procedure applied by Cillessen, van IJzendoorn, Van Lieshout, and Hartup (1992) based on the algorithm and criteria of Newcomb and Bukowski (1983). The latter two techniques can be regarded as nomination methods eliciting unlimited numbers of nominations from the participants. In the present study, 83 pupils (ages ranging from 5.8 to 8.8 years) participated in the 3-point rating procedure of Asher, Singleton, Tinsley, and Hymel (1979). They were asked to rate how much they liked to play with each of their classmates. The ratings data were processed in three ways according to the methods mentioned above. The techniques of Howes and of Cillessen et al. showed higher stability than previously ever reported using the nomination procedures of Coie and Dodge or Newcomb and Bukowski. Nevertheless, the rating scale procedure SSrat proved to have even higher stability.

Abstract:
It is now well recognized that poorly accepted children run a greater risk of serious adjustment problems later in life. The poor-to-fair temporal reliability of the peer-nominations found among young children was an obstacle to early assessment. Although two reliable alternative techniques have been proposed, these have important drawbacks. The present study assessed the reliability of a third alternative, namely, asking children to make more nominations. Three to six positive and negative nominations were obtained from 97 kindergarten and 100 prekindergarten children. Although data proved unreliable at the prekindergarten level, data from kindergarten children were quite reliable and indicated that four choices yielded higher reliabilities than three-choice nominations. More nominations did not further improve reliability. Percentages of subjects classified in the various sociometric status following Coie and Dodge's 1983 criteria also suggested that four choices reproduced optimally the classification generated by the traditional nomination technique. Implications of these results are discussed.

Abstract:
This paper examines the discriminant effect of mothers' and fathers' attachment working models, the quality of their relationships in everyday settings, and children's social abilities on children's peer acceptance. Participants were thirty-four 7–9 year olds, their mothers, and fathers. Interactions were observed at home and coded on global measures of positive, negative, controlling, disconfirming, correcting behaviors, and neutral conversation. Parents' IWM were assessed by the AAI. Children's peer acceptance and behavioral orientations as a measure of a child's social competence at school were assessed by sociometric techniques. By using both traditional statistical analyses and a multidimensional scaling approach (MDS), in terms of “similarity structure analysis (SSA)” and the “external variables as points technique,” it emerged that children's lack of success among peers associated with social behaviors which were linked to parents' rejecting/neglecting and directive interactive styles, mainly to negative, disconfirming, and a few positive interactions. These parenting styles were significantly affected by adults' insecure IWM.

When one group member in an ongoing psychotherapy process group voiced her ambivalence about being in the group, the therapist introduced a structured exercise of a pen-and-paper sociogram and directed the sharing both forward and in reverse. The result was greater connectedness among group members, as well as increased liveliness and cohesion in the group as a whole. Abstract:
The article focuses on the active PE game, as a functional dominant in the pre-school age of a child when critical changes in his or her social development occur. The study was conducted by graduate students in settlements with different demographic characteristics (big city - 2 groups, small town - 2 groups, village - 2 groups) with 120 (3-7-year-old children), from 6 different age groups in kindergartens. Kindergartens and kindergarten groups are randomly chosen. The experimental work uses diagnostic methods of observation, discussion, sociometric techniques (by J. Moreno), mathematical and statistical methods in its course. The mobility of the group dynamics, the constancy, the communication and the movement of the participants - children from different game unification; the cohesion of the child group, which represents the level in the development of child relationships are monitored. It is concluded that active PE games during the period of "game dystrophy", which is distinguished by the specificity of the modern socium, are a determinant, an actual alternative in the development of the children's relationships, which in turn create a perspective in the socialization of the children.

Abstract:
This study examined links between parents’ and children’s interactive style at home and children’s social competence among peers defined in terms of both prosocial, aggressive, and isolate behavior and social success at school. Participants were 34 children (7–9 years of age) who were observed at home and videotaped twice during 10 min free-play dyadic interactions separately with their mother and father over a 2-week period. Interactions were coded on global measures of positive, negative, controlling, disconfirming, and correcting behaviors and neutral conversation. Sociometric techniques based on peer nominations were used to assess children’s behavioral orientations and social success at school. The structural relationship of the parental behavior categories and the links among this structure and children’s social competence among peers were analyzed both by traditional statistical methods and multidimensional scaling techniques. Mothers’ negative interactions and disconfirming correlated negatively with prosociality and positively with aggression, which in turn associated negatively with mothers’ involvement in neutral conversation. Popular children were situated in a relationship structure where mothers were less controlling, less negative, less correcting, and less disconfirming and displaying more positive behavior than was the case for rejected and average children. There were few associations among fathers’ interactions and children’s social competence. Nevertheless, when a multidimensional scaling approach was used rejection appeared to be located within a harsh relationship with both parents. Children who were negative, controlling, and disconfirming when interacting with their parents at home, and who were more aggressive to peers, were more rejected at school.

The article raises the problem of the need to form a tolerant attitude towards peers with disabilities in the framework of inclusive preschool education. The objective necessity of educating preschoolers in the spirit of tolerance in connection with the changes of recent decades in the economic, political, cultural life of the country and the actively developing system of inclusive education is substantiated. The purpose of the article is to theoretically and empirically investigate the process of forming a tolerant attitude towards children with disabilities in a preschool organization. Methodology. The analysis of the formation of a tolerant attitude towards peers with special health opportunities according to three criteria: cognitive, emotional and effective-practical. To do this, the following methods and techniques were used: observation; conversation; diagnostic methods for measuring the level of tolerant attitude towards peers with disabilities (a study of emotional interest in a peer on the test “Human Drawing” by K. Mahover, a study of subjective assessment of interpersonal relationships of a child (SOMOR), a sociometric study “Two houses” by T. D. Marcinkovskaya). The results of the study showed the need to search for effective pedagogical and psychological tools for the development of friendly and open interaction of older preschoolers with peers with disabilities. A plan of psychological and pedagogical measures for the further formation of a tolerant attitude towards peers with special health opportunities in the inclusive space of a preschool organization is proposed.

Social competence of the youth can be a predictor of peer status, one of the youth’s social competences that becomes the focus of this research is prosocial behaviour. Prosocial behavior is generally acceptable in social environment; however, the significance of prosocial behaviour in predicting the status of adolescents in peer groups still needs to be studied. Prosocial behaviour was identified through Peer Assessment Prosocial Behaviour adapted from Greener (2000), while peer status was identified through sociometric techniques by categorizing peer status according to the techniques by Coie, Dodge, and Cappotelli (1982). There were 114 adolescents as research participants (57.9% male, Mean Age = 12.70 years). With multinomial logistic regression analysis, it was concluded that prosocial behaviour was able to predict peer status (χ2 (4) = 48.68, p <0.001) with prediction ability of 56.1%. The effect of prosocial behaviour on the establishment of each peer status will be discussed in more detail in this article.

Abstract:
Modern leadership has permeated the village social system. Change within that system will naturally necessitate a change in the socio -political construct of the leaders. The socio-political construct of a leader has been the resultant of interactive perception and perceptual configuration. In developing countries like India, leaders act as a change agent so far as development of villages and villagers are concerned. It is very important for the leaders to have a modern outlook as well as to be democratically oriented if they have to work in a democratic set up as India claims to be for a sustainable and renewable development of India. The study has been conducted mainly to estimate the socio political structure of the rural leaders as a predicted character in elucidating the leadership dynamics in a given social ecology. Accordingly, 19 different independent variables were included in designing socio-political structure. The present study was carried out with a sample of 100 rural leaders (sociometric leaders and institutional leaders) at Haringhata block I of Nadia district in the state of West Bengal. The purposive as well as simple random sampling and systematic sampling techniques were adopted for the present study. It has been found that the variables like Occupation (X3), Education (X4), Five Year Plan (X7), Panchayat system perception (X8), Dominance (X9), Self-confidence (X10), Dogmatism (X11), Authoritarianism-equilitarianism (X12), Conservatism-liberalism (X13), Fatalism- scienticism (X14), Individualism familism (X15), progressive-reactionary (X16), Political ideology (X17 ), Election perception (X18 ), and alienation (X19 ) have contributed immensely towards profiling the political structure of the rural leaders .Thus the whole of the study rightly has come out with a clear indication that for better and effective construction of leadership and unleashing of their function, we need to have a focused and effective training viz a viz motivational interventions.Int. Abstract:
Acquisition processes are aimed at achieving value based on synergistic effects. One of the most important obstacles in achieving value is the manner of conducting post-transaction integration—a risk area often ignored. This study assumes that a factor that may be important for the course of integration after the acquisition of enterprises may be the fact of personal connections through interlocking directorates between transaction partners of acquisitions. The research was carried out in two stages. The first was to identify the scope of connections by interlocking between WSE-listed companies participating in acquisition transactions. This stage was implemented using the social network analysis method (SNA) and covered 188 companies. In the second stage, research was conducted using semi-structured interview techniques with the CEOs of the acquiring companies. The aim of the study was to identify the relationship between personal relations and the course of post-transaction integration. The analysis focused primarily on two factors: the dynamics of integration activities and their centralization. The research covered 38 companies that were included in the sample in the first stage of the research (including 19 personally related companies and, for comparison, in 19 unrelated companies). Studies have shown that the fact of connecting through interlocking affects the post-transaction integration model in the analyzed group. The dynamically centralized model dominates in enterprises related by particular persons. Many integration activities are carried out in the first 100 days. The factor affecting the implemented integration model is the durability of connections between participants before and after the transaction is conducted and the position in the network of connections determined by such sociometric measures as the centrality of proximity and own vector. Enterprises connected with long-term relationships usually demonstrate high dynamics of integration activities, which are conducted by joint teams whose group employees represent each of the merging enterprises. In addition, the CEOs surveyed from this group of companies declare having an integration plan with different levels of detail in each case.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Residents of VA Community Living Centers (CLC) and Spinal Cord Injury units (SCI) are commonly colonized or infected with multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs). The mechanisms by which MDROs are spread between residents in CLC/SCI settings remain poorly understood. Our objective was to develop methods to better understand how MDROs are spread in VA CLCs/SCIs. Methods Preliminary data from two of the four VA medical centers participating in an ongoing study are included in these analyses. A structured sociometric survey was employed to collect data on interactions between residents, staff and environmental surfaces in study units. UCINET was used to construct a sociogram and calculate network characteristics (density, centrality) using responses to the surveys administered in one of the participating facilities. Results A total of 136 surveys were completed by 49 staff and 45 residents at the two VA sites. Staff reported more interactions with residents than with other staff. Residents reported more interactions with staff than with other residents, the latter tending to only occur during group activities. Sociograms generated from preliminary surveys collected at one site suggest a four-core-person social network pattern connecting two staff with two specific residents and showed that the dining room was the group setting most frequently visited by residents. Mobile computers, blood pressure cuffs/thermometers and glucometers were the equipment used most heavily during resident care activities (figure). Challenges in identifying contact patterns include recall bias and inability of some residents to identify names of individuals with whom they interacted. Residents were still able to reliably identify staff roles. Conclusion This preliminary work shows heterogeneous contact patterns between persons and surfaces in VA CLCs/SCIs. Characterizing this heterogeneity and its influence on MDRO spread via this type of social network analysis is feasible in the VA CLC/SCI setting, albeit with some limitations. Next steps in our studies include adding data from two additional sites and using observation techniques supplemented with microbiological sampling of targeted environmental surfaces to further understand potential transmission patterns. Abstract:
Introduction: the need to study the current state of relations of educational cooperation of younger students is determined by the increasing role of communicative universal educational activities in the development of modern society. However, a number of studies it prove that often the life of a modern school does not provide any opportunities to use the potential resources of such an important component of the development of the student, as educational cooperation. Traditional school due to many restrictions does not always provide the possibility to build a student-centered relationship of educational cooperation in combination with a differentiated approach to younger students. Numerous studies often describe the interaction of students with adults and peers separately, that prevents making unified approaches to the child's socialization. The initial step towards solving this problem should be the complex study of the areas of interaction and diverse study of the formation of relations of educational cooperation of younger schoolchildrenMaterials and Methods: in article the diagnostic program-the complex made of the techniques giving the chance to get the idea of a modern state of development of the relations of educational cooperation in elementary school is declared. They were: a technique with the working title “ the Carpet”, allowing to establish levels of development of skills of group interaction of younger schoolchildren in the lessons; “Sociometric research”, intended for identification of the social status of the child in children's group; “Self-esteem ladder”, designed to determine the adequacy of children's self-esteem in the sphere of business contacts of the child with classmates. Results: the results of the study of the formation of relations of educational cooperation among younger schoolchildren with peers in a specially created innovative conditions in the context of a given procedure of learning and initiated by the child communication. The idea of teachers about the most important for younger schoolchildren’s psychological conditions of development of relations of educational cooperation is revealed.Discussion and Conclusions: the study suggests that for the effective development of relations of educational cooperation with children it is necessary to create a special innovative learning environment, which provides a high motivational basis for younger students to achieve their goals, initiatives, independence, strengthen their social status in the group of peers, increase self-esteem.

Abstract:
Rapid socio-political changes in the life of modern society make it necessary to prepare children for the development of social relations and various types of behavior in society from an early age. Such qualities as the ability to manage their behavior and ways of communication, the ability to choose appropriate behavior, orientation in new circumstances, a sense of their place among other people is the sphere of social development of the child, which contributes to their social well-being. The effectiveness of the implementation of the outlined tasks of social development of preschoolers is largely determined by the establishment of interaction between preschool education institutions and families of pupils. Only close relations of the preschool education institution on the basis of cooperation with the family provide conditions for the full process of socialization of the preschool child. Our research allowed us to find out the existing problems in socialization of the majority of children of senior preschool age, in particular: unformed ideas about "approved", "acceptable" and "unacceptable" forms of behavior; inability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others; short-term and unstable relationships with peers; unformed positive attitude to society and themselves; inability to solve problem situations. Purpose of article is to substantiate the psychological and pedagogical conditions for the socialization of the personality of a child of senior preschool age in the process of interaction between the family and the institution of preschool education. To achieve this goal, a number of theoretical and empirical methods were used: theoretical: analysis, systematization, and generalization of theoretical data presented in the psychological and pedagogical literature; empirical: a survey of educators using the method of T. Repina (2004), sociometric study "Birthday", observation of children's behavior in joint activities and games. In the process of organizing the work, the following methods and techniques have proved their effectiveness: organization of positive communication between parents, educators and children; involvement of parents in assessing the child's progress, forecasting the prospects for the child's development; encouraging parents to participate in joint work with the child and the teacher, the staff of the preschool institution; active listening to parents, trying to understand their problems, to help make a well-grounded pedagogical decision; building friendly, optimistic, cordial relations with parents.

To solve the problems posed in the research, the author was selected and a number of techniques were used that included the following methods: adapted versions of tests for MMPL 16 PF (FOO), multi-level test questionnaire "Adaptability", questionnaire of general health, (GHQ-28), Personal Health Questionnaire by G. Eysenck (EPI), the method of diagnostics of character logical features G. Shmyshek - K. Leonhard, patoharakterologicheskii questionnaire A.E. Lichko, the pollster of traumatic stress under the editorship I.O. Kotenko, T. Liri (interpersonal relations), a modified social-psychological questionnaire (Joint Study Project 1993) - a "questionnaire of dangers" and socio-psychological and sociometric methods that allow to evaluate interpersonal relationships, standardized interviews, individual psycho diagnostic conversation, observation, analysis of independent characteristics. Excel 2010 spreadsheets (MS Windows) have been used as a database structure. The statistical analysis is carried out in the program Statistica 10.0 (Stat Soft) with the help of parametric and nonparametric criteria. The hypothesis of the study is to assume that excessively reinforced individual personality traits will most clearly be manifested by the freedom of choice of a soldier of risk and have different dynamics and mechanisms for responding to specific psychogenic influences of armed conflict. The use of adequate psychological aids to personality disorders will significantly affect the reduction of anxiety, frustration, aggressiveness on the results of professional activity and health of the staff of the armed forces.

Abstract:
The article deals with the methods used in the study of the phenomena that make up the subject of criminology. The main task is to analyze the content of the methodology, general scientific methods, private methods and techniques used in criminological studies. In the course of their work, the authors used metaphysics and dialectic as a methodology; showed the specifics of their application to crime, as well as legal background for the nature of criminality e.g. its public danger. The authors used such general scientific methods as general scientific approaches and mid-level theories. In the case of criminality, the use of a systematic approach and philosophical teaching about human activity is shown. This enabled them to present criminality as a system the structural trait of which is a crime, and a holistic quality is a public danger which synthesizes the public danger of crimes, perpetrators and criminal groups. As a theory of the middle level, the theory of psychological alienation of the person is applied, according to which the typological feature of the criminal's personality is its anxiety for its social or biological status since the crime is psychological protection for external circumstances that cause such anxiety. Among private methods, the emphasis is on the statis-tical method used to characterize quantitative-quality crime indicators and a sociological one (interviewing, conversation, interviews, expert evaluation, analysis of documents, observa-tion). The methods above have limited possibilities: criminal statistics operate with data only on the recorded crimes, reflected in the documents of primary records, the closed criminal environment does not allow to use the method of included surveillance; the method of inter-viewing the participants of criminal groups and their relatives often gives false information, or cannot be applied because the persons in question refuse to be involved in questioning at all; the experiment deals only with certain aspects of criminal justice. The authors conclude that the combination of methodology, general scientific and specific research methods, the specificity of their application to group crime form the methodology of its study. They point out the application in criminology of sociometric and stratometric methods, by which the mechanism of formation, the dynamics of the development of criminal groups is shown, their classification is given, the number of group members is revealed, their status in the group and the structure of the group is established.

Abstract:
The article reflects an axiological aspect of the development of the spirituality of participants in pedagogical interaction. Scientific works are analyzed on the study of objective factors that actualize the problem of the development of values and spirituality. The purpose of the article is to study the level of spirituality, potential and values of teachers, to determine the psychological characteristics of the formation of spiritual and moral values of teachers, and to determine the axiological aspect of personal development. According to the purpose of our study, we used a system of valid psychodiagnostic techniques (observations, interviews, questionnaires, test methods, sociometric data of fellow teachers), as well as a group of data processing methods (qualitative and quantitative analysis, determination of correlations). It’s concluded that the initial level of the development of teachers’ spiritual values is 21,8 %, the spirituality of teachers is 193 %, and the spiritual potential of teachers is 17,5 %. It means that almost a quarter of teachers with an initial level of spiritual development often focus on individualistic values. They are characterized by weak self-control, impulsiveness, low level of empathy and moral norms, unmotivated sense of rivalry, increased antisocial activity (intrigue, rebellion), violation of the hierarchy of motives and values and spiritual regulation, and inability to higher spiritual qualities. They want to deepen the theoretical and practical levels of spirituality, but, unfortunately, do not make adequate efforts for self-development. Educators with an average level of development of spiritual values, spirituality and spiritual potential do not always possess the stability and consistency of the value system of personality, but they adequately assess their qualities of character, level of development of culture and values, and can identify their shortcomings, etc. Teachers with sufficient and higher levels of development of spiritual values, spirituality and spiritual potential can effectively solve spiritual and moral problems and professional tasks of the educational process. They consciously try to acquire spiritual and moral knowledge and update professional values in their own activities. According to the results of statistical processing, the development of teachers' values correlates directly with the focus on altruism. Having a willingness to give up their interests for the good of others, and developed self-awareness, and responsibility, teachers work on the development of spirituality. We see the prospect of further research in the in-depth study of the interaction of participants in pedagogical interaction, modification and improvement of development programs, and development of innovative technologies that would contribute to the formation and development of axiological aspects of a person’s spirituality.

Abstract:
In this article, I explore the convergence of sociometry and gerontology in order to demonstrate successful practices and to suggest alternative approaches in interacting with elderly people, which would result in stabilizing and improving their mental health and emotional status. As elderly people may experience various psychological conditions, applying sociometry requires innovative approaches and a certain flexibility in the application of some of the techniques. The article specifically deals with older adults residing in long-term care communities and my personal experience in creating and implementing therapeutic modalities for the older population. In this article, “older adults” are those older than 65 years. The “elderly” are those aged 85+ years. The approaches and techniques described in this article are adapted and effective for elderly people at any age.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify whether firms that correctly use crowdfunding tools perform significantly better than firms that do not. For that purpose the authors develop a model that relates crowdfunding, innovation distinctive competences and its potential to create value in the firm. The authors want to know if crowdsourcing has more impact on Schumpeterian distinctive competences or continuous distinctive competences. Another aim is to create a new scale to measure the degree of crowdsourcing introduction in a firm. Design/methodology/approach – Within the knowledge intensive industries, the universe selected was the Chinese population of biotechnology and telecommunications industries. The information on the three variables was collected in a primary study, carried out by mail questionnaire. The questionnaire respondent was the manager of the firm. The measuring instrument was pre-tested in 30 firms, 15 from the biotechnology and 15 from the telecommunications industries. The fieldwork was undertaken between January and May 2013. The questionnaire was sent to all the firms making up the population. The sample finally included 393 firms (201 from the biotechnology industry and 192 from the telecommunications industry). Findings – Although the potential of crowdsourcing systems and its indirect relationship with firm performance is complex, the authors have showed that those firms who use these technologies to capture the knowledge of the customers and transform it in innovation competences can obtain a better performance. This result has important managerial implications. Biotechnology and telecommunications companies should use information systems in an efficient way to immediately satisfy constantly changeable customer desires and needs, since firms that are not able to generate this added value across their information and technology systems, risk being relegated to price competition. Firm information systems should be used strategically to develop a deep understanding of preferences and behaviors of its customers in order to foster loyalty and retention. One way to improve innovation competences in a firm is to introduce information technology applications oriented to capture the needs of the customers. Originality/value – This work is an interesting contribution to the literature in that it exacts a knowledge of the causal relationship between crowdsourcing and innovation. The implantation of crowdsourcing techniques is not able to directly improve firm performance, but it exerts an indirect influence by developing innovation distinctive competences. A firm will successfully introduce crowdsourcing if it is able to imbue their principles and practices with processes, routines and individuals, in order to increase its organizational memory and its ability to improve or create new products. The authors have created a new scale to measure the degree of crowdsourcing introduction in a firm. It meets all the sociometric properties required to social sciences.

Abstract:
Since the introduction of the Force Concept Inventory (FCI) in 1992, the CI tests have been widely used for measuring conceptual knowledge and for studying teaching issues in almost all disciplines and levels of study. A standard concept inventory analysis includes the design of a qualitative test, adequate realization of testing, calibration procedure, and comprehensive analysis of its findings. Usually, the CI test calibration is carried out through the Rasch sociometric technique, which is also used for calculating crucial indicators of knowledge such as item difficulties, students’ abilities, and many more. Whereas the quality of the tests’ design can be guaranteed by using certified and professional CI tests, the statistical adequacy of the testing merits critical attention before going on to the final step of the analysis. Also, the analysis of CI outcomes can be advanced by contemplating auxiliary tools and complementary techniques. In this framework, we propose to enforce the test index validity requirement for qualifying the CI outcomes as local or global. Specifically, the conclusions of CI analysis are acceptable for the whole population from which the sample has been extracted if the test's indexes comply with the validity requirements provided by the index theory. In the case when test indexes are out of validity range and re-conducting them is impractical for some objective circumstances or research specifics, we suggest injecting some new records into the existing one or mixing the data gathered from different samples until the new indexes are in the desired range. Using this methodology, we have reviewed our previous FCI tests, which were initially intended to demonstrate the impairment of learning in the physics discipline triggered by online learning during the pandemic closure. Through this renormalization procedure, we obtained a credible assessment of the understanding of mechanics and electromagnetism in high school students who followed online lectures during the pandemic closure. Also, by using indexes’ validity as an auxiliary tool, we identified that for measuring the knowledge of electromagnetism in students enrolled in branches where physics is a basic discipline, a shortened version of the BEMA test was a better instrument than the corresponding shortened EMCI test. Next, we used the optimal histogram idea borrowed from distribution fitting procedures to identify the natural levels of students’ abilities for solving a certain CI test. Another intriguing proposal presented in this work consists of combining an ad-hoc Likert scale assignment for usual errors in physics exams with the FCI designation of the basic commonsense confusion in mechanics for identifying their pairing features in common exams. We believe that the methods proposed herein can improve CI analysis in more general senses. Doi: 10.28991/HEF-2023-04-01-08 Full Text: PDF

Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to examine social problem solving skills of 5-6 years old children with according to social status. The study sample consists of 132 children aged 5-6 with normal development and who attend preschool education in a school in İstanbul under the Ministry of National Education (MEB). In this study, conducted through the relational screening method, data were collected with the personal information form, Preference Based Sociometry Technique and the WALLY Social Problem Solving Scale. The Personal Information Form was filled in by the teachers separately for each child. The Preference Based Sociometry Technique and WALLY Social Problem Solving Scale were carried out on the children individually by one of the researchers. Because study data had a normal distribution, the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient, one of the parametric techniques, Simple Linear Regression technique, One-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA) and Bonferroni techniques were used. According to the study results, there is a positive relationship between social problem solving levels, being like by peers and social preference levels. It is evident that social problem solving significantly predicts being liked by peers, being disliked by peers and social preference levels. There is no significant relationship between social problem solving and social impact; social problem solving does not predict social impact. In addition, it is evident that social status (popularity, rejection, being excluded, being controversial) of young children significantly differs according to social problem solving levels.

Abstract:
Psychodrama group work differs from process group psychotherapy in salient ways, one being the structure of the sessions. Both modalities use group members to support each other, but in psychodrama, the group focuses on a situation of one of the members that is then enacted experientially; in process group psychotherapy, the group follows the verbal interchanges among the members. This article describes each of the two orientations and presents examples of the addition of a process group session to close a psychodrama workshop, on one hand, and presents examples of the insertion of sociometry and psychodrama techniques into process group sessions, on the other. Drawing from both orientations gives the therapist access to a wider repertoire of techniques than either orientation offers alone, and the overall effectiveness of the therapist familiar with both approaches is enhanced by the increased spontaneity and enriched understanding achieved from working with both modalities.

Abstract:
The objective of this study is to analyze the academic literature on strategy as practice trying to understand the profile and trends of the area from the seminal text Strategy as Practice, by Whittington, R. For this, 103 articles present in the Web of Science Core Collection were analyzed through bibliometric techniques (quantification and characterization of scientific production) and sociometry (graphical representation of network, verification of turning points), operationalized through CiteSpace software and NVivo 10 from which was made a discussion on the texts considered ‘turning points’ and central references in network analysis. The results show that the strategy as practice is centered in texts with emphasis on analytical categories ‘power’ and ‘institutions’, and in the turning points analysis is verified the importance of the ‘narrative turn’, as well as the strategic discourse and sensemaking.

Abstract:
The paper presents outcomes of an empirical research on general education teachers’ attitudes to students with different status in school class. The issue of teachers’ evaluation of middle status members of student groups was of special interest. The research involved a set of social psychological techniques: parametric sociometry, autosociometry, parametric reference measurement tool, autoreference measurement tool, a tool for measuring informal intragroup power structure in contact community, and G. Kelly’s Repertory Grid Technique (modification). The subjects were 126 teachers of 5—11 grades of Moscow schools, with work experience ranging from 3 to 38 years. As it was revealed, the teachers adequately perceive the status structure of the class; however, they tend to poorly differentiate the category of middle status students. The paper also discusses the features of the teachers’ emotional attitude to the students depending on the latter’s status in the student group.

Abstract:
The article answers the question how learning motivation and enthusiasm for online gaming are related in students with low, medium and high social status. We present results of a study conducted in 2020 that involved 104 students of 9—11 grades of Moscow schools, 41% (n=43) males, 59% (n=61) females. The techniques used in the study included the academic motivation scale, the assessment tool for game addiction, sociometry, the reference measurement technique, and the technique for identifying informal intragroup power structure in a contact community. The results show that each structure of the integral intragroup status is characterized by its own relationship between learning motivation and willingness to engage intensively in online gaming. As it was revealed, in the attraction structure of intragroup status among high-status students the game addiction indicator is negatively correlated to learning motivation, whereas in the structure of informal power among low-status students this correlation is positive.
