Abstract:
The purpose of the article was to develop a methodology for evaluating performance of e-mail servers and to compare the performance of e-mail servers based on free software (freeware and open source software) with the performance of payment licensed e-mail servers, with an integrated focus. For obtaining this purpose, a descriptive and experimental study was developed, which population included 33 e-mail servers. Two e-mail servers with free license (Sendmail and Postfix) and two e-mail servers with payment license (Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino) were compared. For evaluating the performance (antispam capacity, antivirus filtering, and server resource consumption), special applications for that purpose were used. Finally, it was determined that the two products of e-mail servers implemented with free software (Sendmail and Postfix) had higher performance than the two licensed e-mail servers (Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino) which were implemented, under the conditions given in this research.

Abstract:
The performance of the highway system is inevitably linked to its quality of design and construction. To control the quality of construction, elaborate Quality Assurance (QA) programs have been developed by highway agencies based on statistical sampling and acceptance procedures to ensure that the work is in accordance with the plans and specifications. The QA procedure is intended to ensure that the constructed pavement would perform well during its design life. However, numerous field investigations and research studies over the years have identified a gap in our understanding of the relationship between the QA test results and pavement performance (fatigue cracking, rutting, etc.). This paper is intended to present the framework for developing an understanding of the relationship between QA tests and flexible pavement performance, which is essential for developing Performance Related Specifications (PRS). In the first part of the paper, the Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) QA program and Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) databases were used to empirically investigate any relationship between key QA variables and various pavement performance measures. In the second part of the paper, the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) software was used together with an accurate and efficient interpolation technique to develop many simulations for the purpose of showing the effect of variability in QA parameters including plant air voids, in-situ density and asphalt content on flexible pavement performance.

Abstract:
NASA’s Planetary Science Division supports the geologic mapping of planetary surfaces through a distinct organizational structure and a series of research and analysis (R&A) funding programs. Cartography and geologic mapping issues for NASA’s planetary science programs are overseen by the Mapping and Planetary Spatial Infrastructure Team (MAPSIT), which is an assessment group for cartography similar to the Mars Exploration Program Assessment Group (MEPAG) for Mars exploration. MAPSIT’s Steering Committee includes specialists in geological mapping, who make up the Geologic Mapping Subcommittee (GEMS). I am the GEMS Chair, and with a group of 3-4 community mappers we advise the U.S. Geological Survey Planetary Geologic Mapping Coordinator (Dr. James Skinner) and develop policy and procedures to aid the planetary geologic mapping community. GEMS meets twice a year, at the Annual Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in March, and at the Annual Planetary Mappers’ Meeting in June (attendance is required by all NASA-funded geologic mappers). Funding programs under NASA’s current R&A structure to propose geological mapping projects include Mars Data Analysis (Mars), Lunar Data Analysis (Moon), Discovery Data Analysis (Mercury, Vesta, Ceres), Cassini Data Analysis (Saturn moons), Solar System Workings (Venus or Jupiter moons), and the Planetary Data Archiving, Restoration, and Tools (PDART) program. Current NASA policy requires all funded geologic mapping projects to be done digitally using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. In this presentation we will discuss details on how geologic mapping is done consistent with current NASA policy and USGS guidelines.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective To predict the medical expenditures of individual diabetics and assess the related factors of it. Design and setting Cross-sectional study. Setting and participants Data were collected from the US household component of the medical expenditure panel survey, 2000–2015. Main outcome measure Random forest (RF) model was performed with the programs of randomForest in R software. Spearman correlation coefficients (rs), mean absolute error (MAE) and mean-related error (MRE) was computed to assess the prediction of all the models. Results Total medical expenditure was increased from $105 Billion in 2000 to $318 Billion in 2015. rs, MAE and MRE between the predicted and actual values of medical expenditures in RF model were 0.644, $0.363 and 0.043%. Top one factor in prediction was being treated by the insulin, followed by type of insurance, employment status, age and economical level. The latter four variables had no impact in predicting of medical expenditure by being treated by the insulin. Further, after the sub-analysis of gender and age-groups, the evaluating indicators of prediction were almost identical to each other. Top five variables of total medical expenditure among male were same as those among all the diabetics. Expenses for doctor visits, hospital stay and drugs were also predicted with RF model well. Treatment with insulin was the top one factor of total medical expenditure among female, 18-, 25- and 65-age-groups. Additionally, it indicated that RF model was little superior to traditional regression model. Conclusions RF model could be used in prediction of medical expenditure of diabetics and assessment of its related factors well.

Abstract:
The Mechanistic-Empirical principles were used to develop a software, known as AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design. It is a design and analysis software, designed according to the latest AASHTO standards, the Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design Guide MEPDG approach, which identifies the causes of stresses in pavement structures and forecasts the pavement’s performance throughout its lifespan. Due to its sophisticated complex design, the AASHTOware is of constrained availability in the market. However, due to its significance and its ability to revolutionize the industry, this paper discusses a proposed flexible pavement design tables based on the MEPDG that is founded on Egyptian traffic loadings and material characteristics. This study is divided into two phases; the first is concerned with evaluating the performance of an actual Egyptian roadway pavement design while the second aims to develop a new design tool integrating traffic, climate, and material. The research results showed the poor expected performance of the studied roadway pavement in terms of rutting and fatigue cracking. This research also provided a basic flexible pavement design tables using the MEPDG approach and based on the Egyptian materials, climatic and loading conditions.
