Automated program repair is an emerging technology that seeks to automatically rectify program errors and vulnerabilities. Repair techniques are driven by a correctness criterion that is often in the form of a test suite. Such test-based repair may produce overfitting patches, where the patches produced fail on tests outside the test suite driving the repair. In this work, we present a repair method that fixes program vulnerabilities without the need for a voluminous test suite. Given a vulnerability as evidenced by an exploit, the technique extracts a constraint representing the vulnerability

Defect prediction is a central area of research in software engineering that aims to identify the components of a software system that are more likely to present defects. Despite the large investment in research aiming to identify an effective way to predict defects in software systems, there is still no widely used solution to this problem. Current defect prediction approaches present at least two main problems in the current defect prediction approaches. First, most approaches do not consider the idea of causality between software metrics and defects. More specifically, the studies performed

A major shortcoming of state-of-the-art automated model-based testing is that many test cases proposed by the model are not actually executable. Existing LLVM IR model checkers like divine and Nidhugg, use an LLVM IR interpreter to determine the next state.
