In recent years, the problem of soil fertility has been relevant. We conducted research in a multifactorial long-term experiment on the study of erosion processes in 1990-2022. The experiment is located on the slope of the Bolshoy Log beam, Rostov region. It was revealed that the contour-strip organization of the slope area with a steepness of 3.5-4° and soil protection tillage made it possible to reduce runoff and soil flushing to safe limits. Abstract:
When virgin chernozems of the Central Caucasus are involved in arable land, their fundamental changes occur: increased rates of weathering of mineral matter; hardsettin, compaction and de-structuring; decrease in organic matter; depletion of mobile forms of nutrients; acidification and alkalinization water saturation, flooding and waterlogging; development of water and wind erosion. Such changes cannot be called evolution. The process of soil degradation or metamorphosis has begun.

The article provides a comprehensive assessment of the transformation of soil fertility elements in leached chernozem during long-term agricultural use (more than 40 years). The main reasons have been identified that determine significant changes in the humus state and granulometric composition under conditions of long-term use of chernozem in arable land. More noticeable changes of a degradation nature were noted under the conditions of agro-reclamation measures.

it is shown that as a result of 50 years of agricultural use of soils under the conditions of the Vyatskie Uvaly of the Kirov region, a weak and medium degree of soil degradation was revealed. For reclamation of the bushy fallow land, an agroecological typification of the surveyed lands was carried out. The technology for cutting bushes and dense sod layer using heavy disc harrows, milling machines, and a plow is outlined, and the sequence of operations is reflected.

The use of soils as a means of production in agriculture is associated with their degradation. It is possible to use green manure crops to restore them. Studies have been conducted to identify the most effective varieties of blue lupine (Lupinus angustifolius) for the purposes of regenerative agriculture. It has been established that in the conditions of the north-east of the nonchernozem belt of the Russian Federation, the varieties Accord, Vityaz and Siderate 46 are able to provide high yields of green mass, which is characterized by a high content of nitrogen and ash constituent.
