The solar photovoltaics (PV) is one way for us to deploy free, abundant and clean solar energy. The development trend of solar PV deployment around the world is growing over time thanks to the price drops in solar PV modules and systems and low greenhouse gas emission of solar energy. The goal of this thesis is to estimate the solar PV potential in Finland. A comprehensive climatological database, Meteonorm, is our primary tool for the estimation of annual solar irradiations in different Finnish cities. Abstract:
In this thesis, yearly performance of the solar adsorption cooling system which is proposed to be installed to a residential building in Antalya is theoretically investigated in detail. Firstly, thermodynamic designs of the adsorption cooling cycle for three different types of cycles which are intermittent, heat recovery and heat &amp<br>mass recovery cycles are presented. Secondly, adsorption characteristics of three adsorbent/adsorbate pairs which are zeolite-water, silica gel-water and activated carbon-methanol are given. Following this, load side (i.e., building) of the system is designed

Abstract:
Since the 2008 energy crisis, the national utility has been under stress to meet the country's electrical demand. Moreover, the costs of building new conventional power stations and the operation and maintenance costs of existing ones are taking a toll on the economy. The utility has hence resorted to hiking electricity tariffs. This combination of rising electricity prices and decreasing costs of photovoltaic (PV) technology have hence led a number of households to cover part of their electricity demand by self-produced captive solar PV technology. Reliable supply of energy is the backbone of

There are a number of factors that influence both the physical and the economical performance of a photovoltaic solar energy (PV) installation. The aim of this project was to develop a simulation and optimization model with which these factors could be analyzed and the PV installation optimized. By supplying the model with meteorological data, electricity consumption data and available building surfaces the model finds the optimum PV installation. The output consists of both physical and economical performance as well as information on how to distribute and install the PV modules on the availa
