Purpose: The study is on the influencing factors of domestic solid waste management in Abuja targeted at investigating and studying the factors influencing domestic solid waste management in Abuja, Historically, the amount of wastes generated by human population was insignificant mainly due to the low population densities, coupled with the fact that there was very little exploitation of natural resources. The problem associated with the management of solid waste in most urban cities in Nigeria, like Abuja, does not completely appear to be a problem of absence of legislative framework for solid

This paper compares and discusses the results of two solid waste surveys done by CETESB, the State of Sao Paulo environmental control agency, in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region. The objective is to get an idea of the accuracy of the results, as well as to establish points that can be considered in an industrial solid waste control policy for the region. The results of the two surveys were consistent with each other. The results were also checked against the amount of non-domestic waste that is disposed of in the sanitary landfills operated by the city of São Paulo, to verify the accuracy of

AbstractWastes from the cities and villages cannot be avoided from man's existence. It is essential to safely put these unwanted or discarded material away, in the interest of the community. During human activities a lot of waste matter is produced due to various development project, industrialization and modernization of the community. In this study waste materials were collected from various hospitals and rural and urban residential areas. These wastes were divided into two main categories- Health care waste and domestic waste. The survey indicated 80% solid waste deals with the domestic and

Present work explains green nanotechnology technique in solid waste management. Solid wastes are generated from domestic, industrial, agricultural, commercial, health care and individual activities etc. Because of rising population, urbanisation, construction activities, and improper medical waste management, there is an increase in biomedical waste, which contributes to widespread landscape littering. Due to its inability to biodegrade, waste disposal has consequently become a significant issue on a global scale. Research is being carried out to develop ways for environment friendly disposal

By investigating 18 villages of a town in Beijing, some pollution problems are shown as follows: collection and management system of waste is incomplete and the villagers know little about environment protection; garbage cans, many of which are damaged and lost, are far more to meet the disposal demand of increasing solid wastes; insufficient collecting vehicles run inefficiently, and simple landfill is the only disposal way. In the end, related countermeasures are put forward basing on analysis of region status.

BSF larvae are a well-known bioconversion agent capable of producing high protein content in their body mass. Therefore, this research aims to conduct a small-scale bioconversion process of domestic and industrial organic solid wastes to produce dry BSF larvae as a protein source for chicken and fish culture.
