The essence of the computer simulation in this case is to account for possible surface migration of atoms just after the deposition, in connection with the binding energy between atoms (as the mechanism provoking the diffusion) and/or diffusion energy barrier. The interplay of these two factors leads to different morphologies of the growing surfaces, from flat and smooth ones to rough and spiky ones. In this paper,

As the nondestructive testing method based on industrial computerized tomography (ICT) is widely used in solid rocket motor (SRM) propellant defect detection, the demand for a corresponding image processing algorithm is increasing. In order to extract better defect information on SRM propellants, we studied the edge detection algorithm for their ICT images. This paper proposes a guided filter-based edge detection algorithm for ICT images of SRM propellants with much noise. The algorithm innovatively uses guided filters to converge the detection results of type I edges with good edge continuity

Abstract:
The crystal structure of the potassium salt of raltegravir has been solved and refined using synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction data, and optimized using density functional techniques. Raltegravir potassium crystallizes in space group P21/c (#14) with a = 15.610 59(9), b = 8.148 19(3), c = 16.125 97(6) Å, β = 94.1848(5)°, V = 2045.72(1) Å3, and Z = 4. The most prominent feature of the crystal structure is the chains of edge-sharing 7-coordinate KO5N2 parallel to the b-axis. The crystal structure can be described as having K-containing layers in the bc-plane, with double layers of CH4F halfwa

Due to dynamics caused by factors such as random collection and transportation requirements, vehicle failures, and traffic jams, it is difficult to implement regular waste collection and transportation schemes effectively. A challenge for the stable operation of the municipal solid waste collection and transportation (MSWCT) system is how to obtain the whole process data in real time, dynamically judge the process control requirements, and effectively promote the synchronization operation between multiple systems. Based on this situation, this study proposes a cloud-edge-terminal-based synchro

The proposed system reduced the amount of work that is needed to perform video searching and improved the speed and accuracy. A pre-trained VGG-16 CNNs model is used for dataset training. In addition, key frames of videos were extracted in order to save space, reduce the amount of work, and reduce the execution time. The emergence of computer-aided design (CAD) has propelled the evolution of the sheet metal engineering field. Sheet metal design software tools include parameters associated to the part’s forming process during the pattern drawing calculation. Current methods avoid the calculation of a first pattern drawing of the flattened part’s neutral surface, independent of the forming process, leading to several methodological limitations. The study evaluates the reliability of the Computer Extended Descriptive Geometry (CeDG) approach to surpass those limitations. Three study cases that cover a signifi

An edge-based smoothed finite element method (ES-FEM-T3) using triangular elements was recently proposed to improve the accuracy and convergence rate of the existing standard finite element method (FEM) for the solid mechanics analyses. In this paper, the ES-FEM-T3 is further extended to the dynamic analysis of 2D fluid–solid interaction problems based on the pressure-displacement formulation. In the present coupled method, both solid and fluid domain is discretized by triangular elements. In the fluid domain, the standard FEM is used, while in the solid domain, we use the ES-FEM-T3 in which t
