<p>W artykule przedstawiono kilka wybranych wątków występujących w dziele Makrobiusza zatytułowanym <em>Commentarii in Ciceronis Somnium Scipionis</em>. Dziełko to, mimo że nie posiada charakteru oryginalnego utworu, lecz wręcz przeciwnie – ma charakter kompilatorski, stało się jednym z ważnych źródeł, którymi do średniowiecza przenikały idee filozofii starożytnej. Spośrod bogactwa idei zawartych w omawianym utworze wybrano zagadnienia związane z rozumieniem filozofii, relacją filozofii i mitologii, toposem „złotego łańcucha bytów Homera” oraz klasyfikacją snów.</p>
