Abstract:
Wellness and spa tourism has recently become a marketing strategy to attract tourists. It plays an important role in hotel industry, resorts and tourist destinations. Wellness and spa services are being required by local and international tourists. The interrelationship among motivations, satisfaction, and revisit intentions remain largely unexplored. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to facilitate understanding of the relationship among these constructs. In addition, very few studies on exploring consumers’ needs for the spa and wellness have been conducted in Malaysian context. Previous studies revealed that gaining deep insights into customer profiles and their desire for wellness and spa within this context needs to be taken into considerations, which encourages the development of wellness and spa tourism business. The findings of this study are believed to be advantageous to the wellness and spa service providers. More specifically, appropriate marketing strategies and tourist motivation will be paying more attention and developed in future research.

Wellness tourism is fast growing nowadays as alternative tourism developed from conventional spa tourism into special-interest tourism. Therefore, it is interesting to study the phenomenon of this fast developing industry in Bali in order to reveal its advantage for one’s wellness on the basis of the following question: What factors are contributive to the tourists’ intention in enjoying wellness tourism?. This study aims to explore the factors of belief-forming the tourists’ intention or interest to enjoy wellness tourism. The research adopts planned behavior theory (PBT) as its theoretical framework. The data was collected by questionnaires distributed to 100 tourist-respondents accessed by purposive sampling technique. The analysis was quantitatively done using factor analysis technique as a data analytical instrument. The result of the analysis shows that there are 8 belief factors identified to form the tourists’ intention in enjoying wellness tourism. These factors include: 1) the belief in spa’s benefit, 2) price, 3) past experience, 4) moral obligation for health, 5) environmental awareness, 6) personal value, 7) socializing program and 8) health maintenance. Distinguishing between sports, and health, spa and wellness facilities and services, the findings indicate that health, spa, and wellness facilities and services have a higher impact on revisit intention than sports activities. In addition, the interaction effect between different sports and recreational activities and previous experience in Montenegro did not provide a more amplified effect on tourist satisfaction. Conclusions: Establishing closer links between workers who provide sports services and those providing other tourist services is one of the main challenges in the future of the development of sports tourism in Montenegro, as one of the most critical aspects that can provide tourist satisfaction. The data study can be used for more efficient and effective decision making and strategy development of sports and recreational activities in the tourism industry.

Abstract:
In recent years, there has been a growing global interest in spa tourism, as well as a significant increase in social awareness of the need to care for health, physical fitness and well-being. Apart from spa tourism, ‘spa & wellness’ tourism is also very popular. Kołobrzeg, in addition to being a town largely geared towards patients, also attracts tourists who take advantage of ‘spa & wellness’ treatments. The purpose of this article is to define the essence and characteristics of spa tourism based on the example of Kołobrzeg. Spa activities are carried out in health care entities operating in the zone of the spa, places where patients are undergoing treatment or rehabilitation. These benefit from the healing natural conditions of the areas in which they operate and their microclimates. The main part of the article presents the history of spa tourism in Kołobrzeg along with an analysis of its spa offer and therapeutic profile. In addition, the empirical part discusses the results of an analysis among patients using the survey method; a large proportion of respondents were over 65, mainly female. During the study, the respondents rated various aspects of their spa stay (on a scale from 1 to 5) at a level above 4.0, which indicates the healthy condition of the spa itself and general satisfaction among patients.

Abstract:
Tourism attractions and destinations has been facing tourists’ outflow for lots of years worldwide. Because of that, it is crucial to start fighting against this negative phenomenon, as this niche market segment is dependent on incoming clients. In this thesis, the focus is on wellness tourism with a case study aimed at spa industry in author’s residential country, Czech Republic. Thesis strives not to use standard marketing or management processes, but rather propose out of box solution, which allows gaining full spa experience. Since well-being is seen as one of actual drivers of consumer demand, an authentic spa concept called ‘destination spa’ is brought forward for solving current, local spa inability to be profitable. Key elements are nutrition, physical activity and mental balance. These are further examined and their real contribution is discussed. Within the case study, mix of these arguments is specifically applied to Darkov Spa, Karviná. In addition to that, data gathered from questionnaire enabled to use quantitative research methods to find out if proposed changes are favoured according to local taste. The results showed that suggested solution has a positive impact on local clientele, which will contribute towards increased visit rate. Due to this fact, research’s proposed idea is a convenient incentive for re-opening Darkov Spa.

Such an offer can be essential not only for adult segments, but also to a senior audience, perhaps already retired, who seeks care for their good, physical and mental shape. It was intended to make a case study of the Altis Belém Hotel & Spa in Lisbon. Located in a privileged area of Lisbon, the Altis Belém Hotel & Spa offers - for a demanding and aware customer - fine conditions (services and equipment) targeted to meet motivations and profile of their users.
