Abstract:
In this paper includes an approach to implement Three Dimensional Space Vector Pulse width Modulation (3D-SVPWM) for multilevel inverter/Converter. The Proposed 3D-SVM scheme finds the reference vector by using simple mathematical equations for selecting switching states without redundant switching vectors. Moreover, the proposed PWM strategy satisfies the constraint that the output voltage vector should be only changed by one switching action. Not requiring extra hardware, the NPC inverter with the proposed PWM results are remarkable. The proposed algorithm is simulated by MATLAB and Implemented by FPGA-DSP Processor.

Abstract:
Space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is a method to control the AC asynchronous motor. SVPWM technology applied in AC speed regulation system can not only improve the shortcoming of low voltage utilization in the pulse-width modulation (PWM) technology, but have little torque ripple and low noise advantages. In this paper, a SVPWM vector control AC asynchronous motor speed regulation system employing a core TMS320LF2407A-type DSP chip was presented, and simulated the speed regulation system by MATLAB SIMULINK. The obtained simulation results indicate that the proposed speed regulation system has excellent dynamic and static performance, thus SVPWM control technology of asynchronous motor based on DSP has been implemented.

Abstract:
The current paper aims at presenting and examining an implementation on a digital signal processor (DSP) of the conventional space vector pulse width modulation (CSVPWM) so as to control the dual three phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (DTP-PMSM) drives applied on electric ship propulsion. It is also an attempt to accomplish a developed control of this technique based on vector space decomposition (VSD) strategy. By this strategy, the analysis and the control of the machine are achieved in three two-dimensional orthogonal subspaces. Among the 12 voltage vectors having maximum, the conventional technique namely the adjacent two-vectors (12SA2V) is chosen. Thereby, the test platform allows the implementation of the chosen vectors which are modeled on MATLAB/Simulink using block diagrams and the automatically generated code which is targeted in the DSP card processor. Simulation and experimental results have exposed the efficiency of the proposed test bench of 5 KW prototype machine by using a low-cost TMS32F28379D.

Abstract:
Compared with AC-DC-AC converter, matrix converter (MC) has several advantages for its bidirectional power flow, controllable power factor, and the absence of large energy storage in dc-link. The topology of MC includes direct matrix converter (DMC) and indirect matrix converter (IMC). IMC has received great attention worldwide because of its easy implementation and safe commutation. Space vector PWM (SVM) algorithm for indirect matrix converter is realized on DSP and CPLD platform in this paper. The control of the rectifier and inverter in IMC can be decoupled because of the intermediate dc-link. The space vector modulation scheme for IMC is discussed and the PWM sequences for the rectifier and inverter are generated. And a two-step commutation of zero current switching (ZCS) in the rectifier is achieved. Input power factor of IMC can be changed by adjusting the angle of the reference current vector. Experimental tests have been conducted on a RB-IGBT based indirect matrix converter prototype. The results verify the performance of the SVM algorithm and the ability of power factor correction.

Abstract:
The wide spread use of power electronics equipments in modern electrical systems, has became a major concern due to the adverse effects of harmonics on all the sensitive equipments. This paper presents the implementation of shunt active power filter (SAPF) using source voltage and source current detection. The control and implementation of SAPF is being done by instantaneous active and reactive power, PQ theory for the extraction of harmonics from the fundamental and for the generation of Pulses for the voltage source inverter (VSI), space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is used. The harmonics present in the system are computed and the controller generates PWM signals to inject the compensating harmonic current back into the line to cancel the harmonic components in the distorted line. The performance of proposed topology is first examined by MATLAB-SIMLINK-based simulation and the prototype hardware has been developed using DSP TMS320F28027 processor and the results were verified. The Total harmonic distortion (THD) is below the specified limits.

Abstract:
Space vector modulation techniques have advantages of high output voltages and reduced harmonic content as they utilize the dc bus effectively. Bus-clamped pulse width modulation classified in space vector techniques has the ability to reduce the switching losses of the converter and has reduced harmonic distortion. This paper provides mathematical analysis for 60-degree bus-clamping strategy to obtain the complete closed-form solution for finding the harmonic coefficients using double Fourier integral expression. The effectiveness of the bus-clamped approach on switched capacitor based multilevel inverter has been shown with comparison to Sinusoidal PWM. The DSP controller TMS320F240 has been chosen for the real-time implementation of 60-degree bus-clamping modulation technique. Simulation and experimental results of the prototype are presented for RL load at different modulation indices showing the superiority of the configuration to cascaded multilevel inverter.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract The paper focuses on the development of a novel DSP based high performance speed sensorless control scheme for PWM voltage source inverter fed induction motor drives. Firstly, two generic torque and flux control methods the Field Oriented Control (FOC) and Direct Torque Control (DTC), are briefly described. For implementation the sensorless scheme DTC with Space Vector Modulation (DTCSVM) has been selected because it eliminates the disadvantages associated with the DTC while keeping the advantages of both FOC and DTC. Secondly, the simple flux vector observer allowing speed sensor elimination is given. The novelty of the presented system lays in combining the DTC-SVM structure with a simple observer for both torque/flux and speed sensorless control. Furthermore, the DTC-SVM structure which operates in speed sensorless and torque control mode is presented. Finally, the description of a 50 kW laboratory drive and experimental results illustrating properties of the system are given.

Abstract:
This paper proposes an improved state-variable internal model based digital voltage controller suitable for three-phase PWM inverters with output transformer for medium and high power uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). The proposed controller is derived from the internal model principle using a state-variable approach in stationary alfa-beta frame. For the controller design an improved discrete-time model that uses the average of two samples in a switching period is proposed. In addition, this model takes into account the digital implementation time delay. With the proposed controller it is possible to obtain a high performance in both steady-state and load transients. Also, with the selected internal model, dc components resulting from the circuit implementation non-idealities are not amplified, avoiding transformer saturation. To validate the proposed digital controller and to demonstrate the steady-state and transient performance, experimental results from a 10kVA space vector modulated three-phase inverter, fully controlled by a DSP TMS320F241, are presented. In steady-state the UPS output voltages have very low total harmonic distortion (THD) for both balanced and unbalanced non-linear loads. The output voltage dynamic performance complies with the international Standard IEC 62040-3 Classification 1, which is the most severe limit making the three-phase PWM inverter suitable for most types of critical loads.
