Data processing is generally defined as the collection and transformation of data to extract meaningful information. Data processing involves a multitude of processes such as validation, sorting summarization, aggregation to name a few. Many analytics engines exit today for largescale data processing, namely Apache Spark, Apache Flink and Apache Beam. Each one of these engines have their own advantages and drawbacks. The problem of effectively integrating condition based maintenance and spare part inventory control is studied and a solution methodology demonstrated. Degradation modeling, Bayesian analysis, and optimization techniques are utilized to define a condition based maintenance model for a single production system under spare part inventory constraints. This thesis describes an experimental investigation into ignition systems, their effects on the combustion process, and how the discharge is affected by the prevailing pressure, temperature and flow. The work is divided into four main areas, a comprehensive literature review, engine testing for ignition system suitability, non-flow rig testing (including erosion) and flow rig testing.
